    I'm glad I found this video 3 years later! I just bought the 5700x and a sig 10k, I couldn't figure out how to pair them together! Now I know!

    What blue tooth mode do I put this on to connect to the garmin tactix?

    With this set up. Is there a way to range multiple targets and have them show up on the hud target list screen? Or is it one target at a time.

    Will the Kestrel, LRF and HUD all have to be on to use the two or can the kestrel be off? If it has to be on it sounds like mounting the kestrel would be the best route so there's one less device. Please inspire me and thanks for your support and wisdom.

      The Bluetooth protocol is a pairing type of connection, so only two devices can connected simultaneously. For example I use Leica 2800.COM + HUD + Kestrel. It's either Kestrel +HUD, ore Leica + Kestrel. The point is to get the range data from rangefinder while connected to Kestrel, then Kestrel calulcates the range table, which after disconnecting from rangefinder can be transfered to HUD.
      Basically you will have to disconnect from Rangefinder and re-link Kestrel to get data into HUD.

    My Kestrel is on version 1.39 firmware and won't update at the moment to 1.40. I've jist bought a HUD, but my Kestrel Elite won't link to both my HUD and Terrapin X at the same time. As I connect one the other one drops off connection. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the video... Is firmware 1.40 still beta? How did you update it? My device is at 1.39 and I'm not prompted with firmware updates when I log in to the IOS app... I do not have the Bluetooth intensity setting available in 1.39 and the com range (Elite to HUD) is less than 10 m... Sad...

      What you are seeing here is the 5700X Elite model. Your 5700 Elite model will have on/off with no power adjustments. Also if you connected to the app and it doesn't prompt you to update Firmware then you are good to go. Not all Firmware Updates will be needed on all models, and the app will let you know when its time to update. FW 1.40 is the latest on new 5700X is all.
      Your device is more than likely working perfectly.

      @@DocBeech Thanks for the reply... I did not know a new model was out... Since you have both HUD and 5700X on hand do you mind testing the Bluetooth range to cut off at full power?

    I have a tactix delta with applied ballistics and I'm trying to figure out how to link it with my BDX 3000 can anyone help? Thanks.

    I wanted to get the HUD for my 5700 elite until I found out that using the Wind vane and Live wind which is the best way IMHO of using them would'nt work with the Kestrel Link App and with my 2400 BDX not being able to send the DOF to the Kestrel it meant having to Input every change of direction by going back to the vane setup which is crazy . The Link App allows you to change DOF so either the HUD needs a compass or the software needs changing to allow the Link App to connect at the same time as the HUD / BDX ...... OR sell my BDX and buy a 2400 ABS . It seems an expensive option for me to end up with pretty much the same as what i have in the Iphone / Kestrel Link App albeit not as desirable .

    • @OSOK7
      @OSOK7 Před 4 lety +1

      @@nohandle000 As the BDX will not send the DOF to the Kestrel it has to be done via the App or a LRF that will like the 2400 ABS , Terrapin etc . The Kestrel firmware now allows two bluetooth connections.... BUT the App can't connect if the HUD is . Big oversight IMO

    • @leadmonkey
      @leadmonkey Před rokem

      So what happened today with the DOF info while paired with HUD + Kestrel + LRF?

    • @OSOK7
      @OSOK7 Před rokem

      Maybe read the thread again ... The issue was getting DOF from the HUD as it's attached to the rifle which two years ago it wouldn't do and i'm guessing it still won't ? You have got the DOF from probably your LRF . The point was the HUD is floored because it couldn't make DOF corrections for £500 piece of kit that the free app could with your mobile phone .
