Hell yeah it was hard to find bases with 3k. And 5k was very rare. Most of the time i only find 1k dark elixir. But i did spend so many hours brewing lighting spells and dropping them on the storage to get my queen.

I remember when you could access all your barracks separately and train different troops in them all so you could have a few barbs in your first barracks and then train giants in your second and they train at the same time
@@jack8356 Even when they removed it, it was still the same mechanic really It just made it the fastest it could be Like if 1 of your barracks could train a giant then it would take 2 minutes, if 2 could train a giant it would take a minute, if 3 could train a giant then it would be 40 seconds and if 4 could train giants it would be 30 seconds It basically just automatically put them in certain barracks It's very hard to explain in a text
I remember needing to memorize how many of which troops to train in each barracks in order to have them train the fastest. Then I took a break, came back, and forgot it. I didn't want to deal with it again, so I just stopped playing again. The new system is soooooo much better and convenient.
I came back to this game just a week ago after 8 long years, took a while to recover my then near maxed th10, cuz at that time th10 was the maxed townhall. The most striking thing i noticed was that the troops dont take elixir or dark elixir to cook them. In our time trophy pushing was impossible since we often used to run out of elixir or dark elixir so couldnt train troops. We had to farm using Barch or goblins to train a single army but then u lose trophies. And now loots are overflowing. Its funny to see that Infernos and xbows still gets exhausted and stops working after a time in fact in our times we had to spend actual dark elixir to fuel the infernos and xbows.
Yeah, I remember that you needed to rearm xbows with elixir and infernos with dark elixir just like traps. You can still see the little bit of stored elixir in the xbows today.

It's been almost 7 years since the last time I played clash of clans and when I saw my classmates playing the game, I too wanted to play the game again and yeah, I've never felt like being under the rock before. The most surprising thing about me is that there's no longer global chat. I can still remember the global chats filled with people sending invites in the chat, different people from different countries talking with each other. Hell, even mocking with each other if ever they got themselves in a clan war.

You missed 1 big thing here. Troops / spells used to cost gold and elixir/ dark elixir to train them . Which costs a hell lot. And needed much much loot . But now, it doesnt take any. This is a huge huge change
I started playing in 2012 but I was kinda young at the time and didn't fully understand the elements of the game. Been on and off the game over the last ten years and the biggest difference is how easy the games gotten, so much opportunity for loot and no/low costs eveywhere. Honestly miss the dark elixir grind, I was so good at tunneling for it

Started playing clash of clan when i just got into high-school (late 2013- beginning 2014 ish). I remember 90% of these features, also remembered how difficult it was to max out and go to the next TH. Returned fully 4 months ago, made a 2nd account and it's so easy now to go to the next TH.
Here is the bonus one.. there were 4 barracks and if you upgrade one barrack then you are not be able to train army from it.. you have to train your army from other barrack which might be lower at level... Really annoying... Coz we have to upgrade all the barrack at same level to use the troop after upgrading one of them...💁
back in the day like in 2014/15 it took me like 2 whole years just to get to town hall 9 and the max town hall back then used to be 10 lol now it took me 2 years to get to a mid level th12 from the start which is insane considering the grind from 9 till 12

Th's were all outside because it was giving 12 hour shield to defender but causes only 1000 loot loss so all townhalls were outside and attacker was getting %100 of its league bonus. Basically you deploy your heroes or couple of archers and you get 200k loot from league bonus and for trade of this, defender was getting 12 hour shield I think this was the best feature. I'm very sad that it removed...

you didn't only had to re-arm the traps but x-bows aswell with elixir and i always ran out of elixir wich made me wait for my pumps so i could train my overly expensive army🤣 the struggle was real back then. also i was flexing to my friends with my lv. 5 king🤣🤣🤣

Back in 2016 when I started playing it was comparatively very boring and upgrades were pretty slow and Th9 was the max base but now they have made it soo fast that one can jump from one Th to another with the help of medals and magic items way more quickly. I think they should slow it down a little coz many people who have started playing quite recently 3-4yrs ago only are having bases equivalent to me😅 & that makes me jealous😂

Yes the training time reduction made farming lot easier. When training took long time and we had wars then farming was very hard. Because army took full day to train 😂
Finding 400k - 600k loot used to be super rare. It was almost always range from 100k to 300k. But now more than 1 million is more common. Yeah it was harder to farm before

Army training different, individual barracks need to train troops. Quick train option did not have, global chat was there. I really hope they will add global chat again its really nice because we could find new players for our clans.
We used to leave our town halls outside the base in a corner. This tempted other players to take your town hall and not your loot. Back in the day this was a good tactic for farming lots of loot for expensive and take forever upgrades. 😂
I left COC literally for 8 years, when I returned last month I thought I was trippin because of things that changed especially the cost of buildings and upgrades

I used to have a rushed TH10 Base back in 2016-2017 i think because i didnt know better and just straight up leveled up to TH10, and i found out i couldn't win any battles with under-leveled troops and low level defenses. Sad to say I've lost that account and is probably deleted because ive lost my gmail with that account tied to it. Now tho im in TH12 and have strong defenses and troop levels.

6:05 back then i always looked at the description of the troop and it was written there that teslas were the enemy of pekkas and it just seemed logical for me
At that time it took so much time to train the pekka and dragons and the amount of exiler i wasted for training them. I need to find a base that has double amount of my training cost. By chance if the attack is unsuccessful the waiting time and elixer will all go to waste.

I still remember the Clan Borders they were really cool
Just 1 thing that supercell did well now from early days is "we don't need to spend elixir or dark elixir to train troops, brew spells".😌
Other than that, they made most of the changes unnecessarily (really miss those early days) 😢
Just started playing clash of clans again. Mainly because I felt nostalgic over Backyard Monsters…
I lost my base due to supercell removing the Gamecenter sync….
So I started over and so far I’m having lot of fun. Feels like I’m 14 again… which was 10 years ago….
I just came back after playing in 2015 for a while. Definitely awesome to come back to this game.

Army training different, individual barracks need to train troops. Quick train option did not have, global chat was there. I really hope they will add global chat again its really nice because we could find new players for our clans.
I remember where there is a global chat... You can easily recognize who's active to recruit in your clan
brooo, I woke up to go skiing at 7:30 and you did already upload
We used to leave our town halls outside the base in a corner. This tempted other players to take your town hall and not your loot. Back in the day this was a good tactic for farming lots of loot for expensive and take forever upgrades. 😂
I still remember a lot of those and I think it's insane and I'm too old. 😢
I left COC literally for 8 years, when I returned last month I thought I was trippin because of things that changed especially the cost of buildings and upgrades
Global chat is such one thing ppl will never stop missing, it’s impossible to start a clan these days 😔

i remember these because me and my father used to play this like 6-7 years ago. Infact he has been playing the game even before 2015 so like he is some god but he stopped after a few years like maybe during 2018
I still remember staying up late because of Global chat, it's really one of the best feature back then.
First got CoC one my iPhone 3 when TH8 was the highest but I only vividly remembered 25 of these

I remember when I hide my elixirs by training troops in the barrack then just cancelling it up when I wake up the next morning and talking to people on global chat while I wait for my troops to cook
I remember how i was annoyed upgrading th5 to 6 it was only a nest and it took days 🤣or It was very satisfying to upgrade the th from 7 to 8. man coc was so special back in the days..

Lost my middle school account and didn’t play the game again until recently and now the game looks so diffrent
I just remember where we had multiple baracks seperately in order to train troope - needed to Calculate the amount and wasnt able to switch on bar

I was one of those guys spent hours and hours using lightning spells on that dark elixir storage just to have enough to get the archer queen. I originally rushed from th7 to tho because i wanted the archer queen. I remember those days when it was more fun to farm
Wow, like 1 year ago I upgraded TH to TH12, now 1 year later I’m near to upgrade it to TH13 and get those bonuses, I totally forgot them xd

Super cell was always pretty cool about people finding exploits in the game not getting punished. I found a way to name myself Adolf Hitler in clash and they didn’t ban me but instead changed my name to Royale pup
the 10k king explains my remembering to struggle alot to get dark elixer for this guy i believe it was also way harder to get back then
I remember the days when i bougut king for 10k and queen for 40k, i stopped playing some time after and downloaded the game just a month ago, seeing the changes made me almost cry cuz i was getting almost no sleep bcs of the grind
you also need to manually reload inferno and x-bow, you also need to click every barrack and spell factory one by one to train troops
Also walls were so expensive to upgrade and training time was too long.
There was a global chat option, I got many coc frnds from global chat.

I remember we have train troops seperately barracks and if one barrack is on upgrade u cannot train from that barracks so we have to wait to train ur army till barracks is upgraded

I haven't played in forever but got back on recently, I had no idea that inferno's don't prevent healing anymore lmao
You forgot to mention that X-bows and inferno towers must be filled up with elixier and dark elixier in order to function, nowdays you must login instead
I used to have a rushed TH10 Base back in 2016-2017 i think because i didnt know better and just straight up leveled up to TH10, and i found out i couldn't win any battles with under-leveled troops and low level defenses. Sad to say I've lost that account and is probably deleted because ive lost my gmail with that account tied to it. Now tho im in TH12 and have strong defenses and troop levels.

I was also very happy to log back on and see that everything is a lot less time to upgrade. The week long upgrades made me stop playing
Remember when people make war bases to double up walls for secure th when siege doesn't exist we use valks and jump spell for core that's was so nostalgic.

6:05 back then i always looked at the description of the troop and it was written there that teslas were the enemy of pekkas and it just seemed logical for me
At that time it took so much time to train the pekka and dragons and the amount of exiler i wasted for training them. I need to find a base that has double amount of my training cost.
By chance if the attack is unsuccessful the waiting time and elixer will all go to waste.

I still remember when we had 4 barracks for elixir troops and they came out of each one so easy to make troops of I want it back
You missed a few
1. Upgrading barracks or spell factory and not being able to train army.
2. There used to be 4 barracks, and to reduce training time we had to keep all of them upgraded.
3. Lightning spell used to take 2 spaces. Now it takes only one.
4. Legend league multiplayer battle search used to take hours
Fun fact:
There used to be a clan Savage Seven where all the players were at TH7, and at legend league! They used to do mass dragon attacks and aim for 1 star on TH10 and TH11 bases.
Now it is impossible to do so because of much higher town halls (TH16)
It has always annoyed me they removed the Clan Castle treasury. It looked do nice and made so much sense. Also I wish they still kept snow too.
