Has anyone noticed that more barracks have been removed? We used to have a lot of barracks and each time we level up, the troop training time gets shorter.
Now they're all just combined into 1 menu. By upgrading a barracks you unlock the new troop, and subsequent barracks upgrade reduce the training time of the new troop. You can't just upgrade one barracks or it'll take forever to train troops.
I actually remember playing at a time where dark elixir was the most precious resource so we just basically placed our storages in the middle and our town hall at the border of our village
This account obviously doesn't play many of the accounts that make COC content like this don't play it and only run off the information they find online, example there was never and has never been a way to sell your town hall the prompt would appear but clicking it resulted in nothing happening, or the wall breaker one that's just not true what's actually happens is the wall breakers a moron attacking the closest wall but the super wall breaker got an upgraded AI and will only attack strategic walls
As someone who just came back to Clash after a 6-7 year hiatus, the rearming, Town Hall hunting, and lightning sniping were such an interesting time to be playing Clash.
2:38 that’s not the reason supercell changed the way the town hall works (forced the players to put the town hall back inside). The whole reason players put their town hall outside was because when the town hall was destroyed they get 16 hours sheild (basically no attacks for 16 hours). So basically supercell removed sheild feature for the town hall thus leaving no reason for players to leave sit outside anymore. The loot in the town hall was added much later in the game.
As someone who did this myself, this was also very importend because back then attacking someone will delete your entire shield, making you defenseless after one attack. Im so happy they improved it to how it works nowadays. One sad thing is that the attack timer of 3 minutes isnt higher anymore. I remember when i downloaded coc again 3 momths ago i still was so used to the 3 minutes and 30 seconds that i failed every attack for multiple days lol
Has anyone remember that after each enemy raid, the "loot cart" appears randomly anywhere on your base!. But now the "Loot cart" has a special place located in the left corner of the base.
Bonus: back then heros didn’t have a set radius to defend their base, so wherever you drop your troops, the enemy heros would go there and battle your troops, this made it difficult to carry out strats because not only did players have to kill cc troops, they also had to take down the 2 heros.
Back when the goal of a war attack was to "pull the heroes AND cc troops" sheesh those were some rough days. I remember thinking the game would be ruined with that update lol

7:50 That's an explosives plunger commonly used (well less commonly now) in demolition jobs to set off placed charges. So the sell icon being a plunger makes sense, since you destroy the building when you sell it.
I left Clash of Clans and stopped playing for about two to three years and when I came back, there were subtle but noticeable changes. I remember having a few flags. I remember when you could get resources with lighting and now that you showed it, I remember seeing the sell button. I played with my dad in 2015 and my brother too. This was so nostalgic it's crazy. Clash of Clans is still one of the best, if not the best strategy game in its genre.
Don't forget when heroes would chase and attack any troop on the battlefield no matter how far away, so the first step to any serious attack was to lure the heroes to a corner and kill them. Oh, and the absolutely insane army training and hero healing times. Heroes would take an hour to heal, big troops like pekkas and golems would take 45 minutes, and even a lowly wizard was 8 minutes. On top of that, you had to manually select which barracks were training which troops. So many other changes too over the years. This video just scratches the surface.
By far the best feature is the way you can rearrange the base now. I remember having to move each individual wall piece and building to a corner, and then shift them all bit by bit to remake your base. Doing a new design now is SO much easier!
and its better. I remember when i was late Townhall 10 i needed to wait 7 weeks for the inferno tower level 3 and when townhall 11 wasnt even out you had to wait 7 days for the level 1 inferno tower while level 3 took 2 weeks
TH7 only had 2 air defense and later on they added 1 additional AD so making dragon attacks challenging. We could just have 5 builders max and it was so difficult to get the 5th builder because there was no gem mine and less achievements to complete. Now it has become easy to collect gems, so the 5th builder, and you get the 6th builder from the builder base. There was a time when COC provided night scenery for home base. Lightning strikes looked stunning during the attacks COC should seriously consider bringing it again.
Supercell need to bring back the global chat. It's fun to mess around after you're done doing daily stuff and i always found a decent clan through global chat.
The whole global chat removal was bs . Damn cry babies complaining about inappropriate/ disrespectful global chat comments when EVERYONE literally had the ability to mute anyone you wanted. There's absolutely no reason why you couldnt just mute someone and move on with your life. But nooo people instead bitch3d and wined about it and ruined it for everyone. I miss global chat.
Some says its the good old days, but for me it's the trial and error days, since COC is pretty new at that time, the developer improves it as time goes. I stop playing coc for many years bcoz of many flaws and setbacks, but NOW i returned to play it again and it was noticeably much better than before.
If i remember correctly updating walls used to cost lot more money then now. it was So hard to upgrade your walls before. But supercell just cut the price in half or so 😔😔 not to mention how easy it is to get resources now . Just look at how broken the clan medels are (idk the name correctly it's the things you get from clan raids) . If you're in a good clan 1000 clan medels a week is a easy gain .means ×15 wall rings a week

Actually no, reloadable defenses can only stay active for a few minutes (the eagle artillery lasting the longest with 5min). Your defenses go inactive after two to three attacks most of the time. It's just free to reload now
Also they added dark elixir pumps way before they changed the troop cost. I paid the full 10K and 40K for my heros, but elixir pumps have been in the game since I first got to th7.
Happy you mentioned the wall breakers, back in the time it was annoying, but it was also a cool strat trying to build the base so purfectly so the wall breakers had no use XD
Who remembers the pain of training troops in every barracks, no copying armies or having pre made armies. Using a troop calculator to see the cost and to devide the troops into the amount of barracks, clicking on every barracks to train a curtain amount of troops😂😂
Yeah, I played this game after so many years and noticed many changed things, troops do not cost any gold or elexir, global chat removed, heroes get extra life, magic items wwere also not there initially, layout links also maybe, clan capital was not there, and now builder base 2.0 also came with otto and Bob changes, decorations cant be selled but trashed, trader was new too

There's a few things I truly missed seeing happening in clash of clans.. -TH 6 player with insanely high trophies, usually sits around Champion 1 or Titan 2/3 -TH 10 / TH 11 bases with Maxed heroes/barracks/spell factories and only one defensive tower, a Lv1 Cannon -Bases with buildings outside the map, sometimes even walls/builder huts -Creative base designs, usually an icon like a heart, mini-hearts, a sword, a diamond and sometimes even a lady (with a full elixir storages as their chest) -Bases with Eagle, Inferno Towers and x-bows not being re-armed -and finally bases with Gem Box in the middle surrounded by either obstacles or defense towers that are maxed (there's a lore to this, players used to think gem box was raid-able and players can steal others gems)

As someone who pushed a town hall 5 to titan league 2, I can say that Ive seen personal breaks just about everyday, although my game launcher clocked in 16 to 20+ hour sessions daily, the thing about pushing low town halls is you are mostly clouding, meaning that little magnifying glass people see for a few seconds before finding a base, usually lasted hours upon hours for us, so I still had a life, I just did other normal stuff while waiting for a base, which tends to take nearly the whole day

Building and upgrade cost and time is reduced now, so that players can quickly reach to TH9 or 10. It took me 1 whole year just to fully max out my TH9 to TH10. Now in 6-7 months you can reach TH9 and in 1 year you have the TH10.
that last TH glitch to sell would of been cool to experience, the game only really came to South Africa after 2012, i think the year right after. but this was really cool trip down memory lane. thanks!

placing ur town hall outside was a good strategy because once anyone gets ur townhall u get a shield for about a day idk maybe it was 18 hours but now days ur opponent should take 30% and a start then u get a shield so the main idea was to a shield just by getting ur town hall destroyed
Back at the old time when I'm new to the game there is plenty of feature that you can do like destroying the opponents gem box and you can deploy inside the base too
I miss the town hall hunting times, I reached Titan at th8 because of that, you forgot to mention that hunting TH will give 100% of rank loot reward but now the rank loot rewards depends on how many stars/percentage you dealt

Yes we used to have 4 barracks of Normal troops and 2 drak elixer barracks, now only 1:1 barracks

Also, when people raided you, they got an easy trophy push while you went down in trophies to farm dead bases.
My strategy to get easy trophy is keep th inside and left the loot storage outside, remember to keep storage full

Call me crazy but I miss manually rearming traps. It was satisfying and made x bows and inferno towers feel more special.
i liked it bc it meant if u were not on daily ur important defenses were useless meaning u can easily 3 star someones base if they weren't active

Been playing since December 2012, surprisingly knew 19 of 20 things! Never had an X-Bow in time to know it needed to be re armed!

As someone who pushed a town hall 5 to titan league 2, I can say that Ive seen personal breaks just about everyday, although my game launcher clocked in 16 to 20+ hour sessions daily, the thing about pushing low town halls is you are mostly clouding, meaning that little magnifying glass people see for a few seconds before finding a base, usually lasted hours upon hours for us, so I still had a life, I just did other normal stuff while waiting for a base, which tends to take nearly the whole day
I’m wondering, how did you manage to do that? Like if it’s in the search for hours how could you tell it found an opponent? You were checking on your phone every now and then?

No one noticed that it costed elixir to train troops back then
They also changed lightning spell's icon to clash royale's zap spell's icon
They did that because the lighting spell now cost one housing space instead of 2.

Building and upgrade cost and time is reduced now, so that players can quickly reach to TH9 or 10. It took me 1 whole year just to fully max out my TH9 to TH10. Now in 6-7 months you can reach TH9 and in 1 year you have the TH10.
that last TH glitch to sell would of been cool to experience, the game only really came to South Africa after 2012, i think the year right after. but this was really cool trip down memory lane. thanks!

I remember using it when I started playing clash of clans in 2017. They removed it 2 years after I started playing clash of clans I really miss global chat.
Big bombs used to do 1.5 times damage on hogs. Killed a lot of my goho attacks back in the day.
placing ur town hall outside was a good strategy because once anyone gets ur townhall u get a shield for about a day idk maybe it was 18 hours but now days ur opponent should take 30% and a start then u get a shield so the main idea was to a shield just by getting ur town hall destroyed

I miss the town hall hunting times, I reached Titan at th8 because of that, you forgot to mention that hunting TH will give 100% of rank loot reward but now the rank loot rewards depends on how many stars/percentage you dealt
