Hotels have cameras but not in the room, but they can definitely check the halls. And not every hotel has cameras watching every hallway. It depends if it is a low end or high end.
Either way is devastating. The deed was done at that point. I don't think any way they could've told them would have lessened the blow of receiving that news! 😥🙏

I remember my parents allowed me to go to a classmate’s party and did not leave my side until they spoke face to face with adults who were supervising. This was with everything. It’s annoying as a kid, but as a mom, man I’m so grateful for that. We have to go above and beyond to protect our babies…… prayers to her family. Hopefully everything comes to light.
This looks like a setup. She was alone making a video in a room obviously not afraid or anxious, and the way she reacted looks like someone she knew but didn’t expect showed up. They need to investigate the group she was with.

A girl in my area who went out for her 23rd birthday with her two “best friends”. They went home and she ended up dead in some weirdos trunk. People have no idea what being a friend means.

My daughter had a sleepover at a hotel and we had connected rooms. We gave her the privacy she needed but at the end of the day she was still a child and was monitored. When they went to the pool they were chaperoned. It breaks my heart for this. This is why you need to get all up in your kids business and know who they are around and friends are. Its 2021 not 1997 ppl are crazy. Give them trust and let them be kids but snatch it back if they break it. She was beautiful and I pray her family gets justice for her

I remember turning 16 and I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a room at a hotel/motel. My mom got the room for me and my friends but I remember being so angry at her that she also got the room next door for her and my little sister to stay. I had an attitude and wanted to be grown so bad. I also wanted to be dropped off at the movies but I remember She came and went to see a different movie with my sister. This made me even more angry and I just wanted to be cool and show my friends that I was cool too. She did let us have dinner at a restaurant by ourselves but now I get sad at the fact that I didn’t eat dinner with my mom. I was so mean to her and my little sister that whole weekend and when I think back to the 15 plus years ago that it happened I get so emotional because all my mom was trying to do was be a good parent. She was actually doing me a favor with a room to myself with my friends and her being next door and just wanted to make sure we were ok.. she would knock on the door to check on us every couple of hours or so and I just was so upset about it smh. I regret every bit of it. She took off work only to be disrespected by her child the entire weekend. She fronted the money for my dinner, the room, the movies, my cake, my balloons and the food to feed my friends but the only thing I could muster up to say to her was that I do not want her around. Smh I commend her for never leaving me. I’m so grateful she kept her eyes on me and my friends. Protecting us. At the time a child may not understand but having a caring/protective mother, parent or guardian can literally the difference between life and death. I hate this mother had to lose her baby due to someone else’s negligence.

It’s totally normal for teens to be alone with friends, but it also raises risks too. When I was growing up, I was never allowed to leave the house alone, walk to the park, have social media, express myself through clothing, or practice witchcraft, which led me to my current views. I knew she did it in a caring manor, so that I wouldn’t end up dead, but I also know that she failed to recognize the fact I wasn’t a little kid anymore. My take on it all is making sure kids are with trustworthy people, having them message their guardians current location, abiding by curfew, and checking in on them through text every 2 hours or so. I absolutely hate the fact this family had to deal with this loss, and the fact events like this happen should be more visible to teens, so they can protect themselves.
As a mom I know your mom understood and didn't put to much into your actions as a child. I took my preteen granddaughter to the mall yesterday 3/5/21 to meet a classmate she met virtually online my daughter my granddaughter and I met the little girl and her mom introduced ourselves and proceeded to follow them through the mall covering entrance to the store and stepping in to check occasionally they shopped laughed talked and enjoyed time together. When we left the girls were ecstatic to have made a new friend. Everyone was safe and happy. I said that to say they thought we would sit in food court while they walked around. 😆 🤣 😂 not on my dime. They grab one we all going grocery bill through the roof

I'm 32yo and don't have children, BUT my mom and grandma didn't believe in sleepovers at no one's house/hotel whether it was family or friends and we didn't have them at our own house. Never understood why we couldn't go "have fun" or have others come over but ever since I moved out at 21, I've been thankful for the way they raised us and protected me and my siblings. My mom and grandma knew the dangers out there, they were children/teens before they had their own children. They knew/know the dangers lurking etc. Parents keep being protective over your children. It's okay to tell your children "NO".

The one sleep over I did go to was at a neighbors house like literally right next door. It was fun and I was happy to be so close to home. No, the only person who is accountable is the person who shot her. Teenagers are fast. I remember chaperoning "once", & it was a nightmare I would never do again. The parents should've chaperoned

exactly I was in my early 20s and my parents were so strict didn't let me go nowhere and I would say if I can't go out now in my 20's when am I supposed to go out when I am in my 40's? Now in my 40s I am a mother myself and try and be so over protective of my children it's only because we care. And now I love being at home!

Now I understand why my mama was so strict and always said no, it’s for a reason. I use to be so upset and was known as the one who couldn’t do anything. All the human trafficking, disappearances, rapes and deaths of these young girls makes me honor my mother for keeping me close. These children are also getting to grown too young, making these sexualized videos, using profanity in front of adults, they go from a baby to a teenager at 10 and an adult from 11 and up. It’s insane. This has been going on forever but the new social media platforms are making it worse. I have boys now and I really will try harder to protect them the best way I know how. It’s trying.
Often I see children “growing up too fast” due to neglect, and needing to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, so many children face neglect whether it be on a small scale or a large one. Since so many kids have grown up to fast, I often see their peers trying to fit in with them and become a “cool kid.” I wish that parents could just take better care of their kids overall, and problems like this wouldn’t be happening.
When I was a kid, if I was allowed to go anywhere, my mom went in and talked to the adult(s) and the others that were there and checked out the situation, she wouldn't just take my word or whoever's word on the phone, I'm not trying to blame the parents but they could have done more to make sure this was safe and to gage the situation/people attending better. Bad things can always happen no matter how careful you are but you can always do as much as possible to mitigate your risk.

My daughter just had a hotel party for her 16th birthday an it was excellent all family no friends an she had a blast, that’s how u got to do it now days.. I left her with her oldest cousins at 11pm I was back at 9:30 an I called an checked on them throughout the night but I trust her as well.

This is a terrible situation! So many times parents want to be their child's friend, but that is not what should happen. Parents have to be responsible for their children, not someone else. You can't blame others when you are suppose to watch and make sure that your child is safe!! Allowing your child to go places without finding out everything is never a good idea! As I'm learning more about this and things I'm the same I worked in a hotel and I know how that atmosphere is okay you know you know you when you check in and check out and all the things you want to do she might have met him downstairs seeing him and he actually could have went up there you haven't booked the world is so messed up maybe talk to him or something well the other people were he was sitting down she was making a video and all I said he just jumped up and maybe that was the reaction and then he went back downstairs and they stayed downstairs for a while to not even notice it that's why I made it took him a minute to not even know it could have been him or whatever you know or someone could have seen her go in the room it don't look like it would be that way because they wouldn't know if someone was in there that's just maybe one of the ways an idea that I was looking at cuz I heard they got the boy sad sad

I feel she as parent she should take responsibility in her daughters death. She should of make sure her daughter was safe. Safety should be a parents main concern. I'm not taking sides but she as a mother should did more to avoid something like this from happening. We can't blame the world for our mistakes. We got be better parents that it that's all. If my 16 year old is going to an air bnb or hotel I'm going to go to see, meet, look, investigate and document EVERYTHING about this place, the people there and the chaperone. HOW did she get there? Where are the other girls/friends? Where is the adult? So many questions. Sometimes _parents_ just don't do enough investigating/being nosey/questioning... Mom said "...the system is not doing enough..." well, where was _her_ proactivity?

No kidding. That was highly disturbing to me, no way should a 16 year old girl be doing all that and definitely NO hotel parties. My daughter is 34 now and not even back when she was 16 would I have allowed any of that nonsense. I agree with that, and that’s coming from a 14 year old. I hate how protective my parents can be, as I’m not even allowed to practice witchcraft, have social platforms, or walk down the street alone, though I recognize they’re only trying to keep me safe. Meanwhile I go to school and see kids making out, having sex in the bathrooms, vaping, and more really unbelievable stuff that could’ve been prevented if their parents were more cautious.
So the parent is blaming the other adult when they should have never let her go to a hotel party. Why was she in this room alone and making an inappropriate video? Hotel, girls and boys already sound like trouble. These teens especially boys don’t know how to have clean respectful fun and teen girls need to stop being so fast.
The parents were told it was a chaperoned holiday party at a air bnb with just girls attending. They didn't find out it was an unsupervised hotel party until after they found out their daughter was dead. The adult that was supposedly chaperoning the party is the one that got them the hotel room. They should be held accountable. Their irresponsibility gave this whole setup a place to go down. It probably would have happened even if they didn't have the hotel room because someone obviously wanted this girl dead but adults gave minors access to a private hotel room and it lead to a young girls death. They should be charged, idk with what but they should be held accountable for their wrong doings in this situation.

When I was kid growing up in the 90’s and 2000’s the kids were different. These new age kids are from another planet. If my daughter want a hotel party that’s fine but I’m gonna be in a room next-door and I’m going to keep checking in there and there will be no boys allowed.
EXACTLY you sure know what to say my lil girl has had plenty of hotels party but like you said I’m going to either be in a room right next door with the access door to go straight into their room or the room with the separate living room. I’m checking on mines at all times and when her friends are with me they are mines too and will be treated as so. That’s why I can always assure their parents that their kids are going to be safe with me and won’t be allowed to do anything I wouldn’t allow my child to do. So while with me they might as well be prepared to be on the same level as their friend, called my child lol if they’re not already. But for the most part my lil girl has like minded friends and even the ones who may not be as like minded in behavior, will act as if they are whenever they come around so that works too. My parents never let my sister's and I go to sleepovers. They used to say they might know the parents but they don't know who's coming to the house. Hotels have cameras but not in the room, but they can definitely check the halls. And not every hotel has cameras watching every hallway. It depends if it is a low end or high end.

My daughter had a sleepover at a hotel and we had connected rooms. We gave her the privacy she needed but at the end of the day she was still a child and was monitored. When they went to the pool they were chaperoned. It breaks my heart for this. This is why you need to get all up in your kids business and know who they are around and friends are. I remember turning 16 and I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a room at a hotel/motel. My mom got the room for me and my friends but I remember being so angry at her that she also got the room next door for her and my little sister to stay. I had an attitude and wanted to be grown so bad. I also wanted to be dropped off at the movies but I remember She came and went to see a different movie with my sister. This made me even more angry and I just wanted to be cool and show my friends that I was cool too. She did let us have dinner at a restaurant by ourselves but now I get sad at the fact that I didn’t eat dinner with my mom. I was so mean to her and my little sister that whole weekend and when I think back to the 15 plus years ago that it happened I get so emotional because all my mom was trying to do was be a good parent. She was actually doing me a favor with a room to myself with my friends and her being next door and just wanted to make sure we were ok.. she would knock on the door to check on us every couple of hours or so and I just was so upset about it smh. I regret every bit of it. She took off work only to be disrespected by her child the entire weekend. She fronted the money for my dinner, the room, the movies, my cake, my balloons and the food to feed my friends but the only thing I could muster up to say to her was that I do not want her around. Smh I commend her for never leaving me. I’m so grateful she kept her eyes on me and my friends. Protecting us. At the time a child may not understand but having a caring/protective mother, parent or guardian can literally the difference between life and death. I hate this mother had to lose her baby due to someone else’s negligence.

It’s totally normal for teens to be alone with friends, but it also raises risks too. When I was growing up, I was never allowed to leave the house alone, walk to the park, have social media, express myself through clothing, or practice witchcraft, which led me to my current views. I knew she did it in a caring manor, so that I wouldn’t end up dead, but I also know that she failed to recognize the fact I wasn’t a little kid anymore. My take on it all is making sure kids are with trustworthy people, having them message their guardians current location, abiding by curfew, and checking in on them through text every 2 hours or so.
I absolutely hate the fact this family had to deal with this loss, and the fact events like this happen should be more visible to teens, so they can protect themselves.
As a mom I know your mom understood and didn't put to much into your actions as a child. I took my preteen granddaughter to the mall yesterday 3/5/21 to meet a classmate she met virtually online my daughter my granddaughter and I met the little girl and her mom introduced ourselves and proceeded to follow them through the mall covering entrance to the store and stepping in to check occasionally they shopped laughed talked and enjoyed time together. When we left the girls were ecstatic to have made a new friend. Everyone was safe and happy. I said that to say they thought we would sit in food court while they walked around. 😆 🤣 😂 not on my dime. They grab one we all going grocery bill through the roof

I'm 32yo and don't have children, BUT my mom and grandma didn't believe in sleepovers at no one's house/hotel whether it was family or friends and we didn't have them at our own house. Never understood why we couldn't go "have fun" or have others come over but ever since I moved out at 21, I've been thankful for the way they raised us and protected me and my siblings. My mom and grandma knew the dangers out there, they were children/teens before they had their own children. They knew/know the dangers lurking etc.

exactly I was in my early 20s and my parents were so strict didn't let me go nowhere and I would say if I can't go out now in my 20's when am I supposed to go out when I am in my 40's? Now I understand why my mama was so strict and always said no, it’s for a reason. I use to be so upset and was known as the one who couldn’t do anything. All the human trafficking, disappearances, rapes and deaths of these young girls makes me honor my mother for keeping me close. These children are also getting to grown too young, making these sexualized videos, using profanity in front of adults, they go from a baby to a teenager at 10 and an adult from 11 and up. It’s insane. This has been going on forever but the new social media platforms are making it worse. I have boys now and I really will try harder to protect them the best way I know how. It’s trying.
Often I see children “growing up too fast” due to neglect, and needing to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, so many children face neglect whether it be on a small scale or a large one. Since so many kids have grown up to fast, I often see their peers trying to fit in with them and become a “cool kid.”
I wish that parents could just take better care of their kids overall, and problems like this wouldn’t be happening.
When I was a kid, if I was allowed to go anywhere, my mom went in and talked to the adult(s) and the others that were there and checked out the situation, she wouldn't just take my word or whoever's word on the phone, I'm not trying to blame the parents but they could have done more to make sure this was safe and to gage the situation/people attending better. Bad things can always happen no matter how careful you are but you can always do as much as possible to mitigate your risk.
This is exactly why I'm so protective of my girls.

This is a terrible situation! So many times parents want to be their child's friend, but that is not what should happen. Parents have to be responsible for their children, not someone else. You can't blame others when you are suppose to watch and make sure that your child is safe!! Allowing your child to go places without finding out everything is never a good idea! As I'm learning more about this and things I'm the same I worked in a hotel and I know how that atmosphere is okay you know you know you when you check in and check out and all the things you want to do she might have met him downstairs seeing him and he actually could have went up there you haven't booked the world is so messed up maybe talk to him or something well the other people were he was sitting down she was making a video and all I said he just jumped up and maybe that was the reaction and then he went back downstairs and they stayed downstairs for a while to not even notice it that's why I made it took him a minute to not even know it could have been him or whatever you know or someone could have seen her go in the room it don't look like it would be that way because they wouldn't know if someone was in there that's just maybe one of the ways an idea that I was looking at cuz I heard they got the boy sad sad

The parents were told it was a chaperoned holiday party at a air bnb with just girls attending. They didn't find out it was an unsupervised hotel party until after they found out their daughter was dead. The adult that was supposedly chaperoning the party is the one that got them the hotel room. They should be held accountable. Their irresponsibility gave this whole setup a place to go down. It probably would have happened even if they didn't have the hotel room because someone obviously wanted this girl dead but adults gave minors access to a private hotel room and it lead to a young girls death. They should be charged, idk with what but they should be held accountable for their wrong doings in this situation.

EXACTLY you sure know what to say my lil girl has had plenty of hotels party but like you said I’m going to either be in a room right next door with the access door to go straight into their room or the room with the separate living room. I’m checking on mines at all times and when her friends are with me they are mines too and will be treated as so. That’s why I can always assure their parents that their kids are going to be safe with me and won’t be allowed to do anything I wouldn’t allow my child to do.
So while with me they might as well be prepared to be on the same level as their friend, called my child lol if they’re not already.
