If you print this page out on A4 paper, it should be the right size
This step by step video shows the full making of process of my second knife, a ~28cm (11inch) kitchen knife / chef's knife. Having completed it, I would say that making a knife this size without a belt sander is more work than most people would be willing to do! Filing the bevels took an eternity, and I'll be sticking to smaller knives for the foreseeable future.
All the steps can be easily done with no power tools whatsoever, though I do use an angle grinder to quicken the metal cutting process and a cheap drill press in the video to make my drilled holes more accurate.
Most of the processes used I learned about on CZcams, and most of the materials used were bought from eBay. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments and I'll get back to you

Beautiful knife, I have been wanting to make a chefs knife but thought it would be to difficult, you made it look easy and it came out real nice. I know what I'm doing this week end. Thanks.
Beautiful knife! That came out really nice, great work. Keep it up man.
What joy you must get while using this knife you made yourself! Thanks for making the video.
what a piece of art with simple tools pure hand made beautiful work
One of the best. Excellent profile and handle. You've set a standard to aim for!
Great Job! Love these videos where people let the work 'do the talking'. Keep it up.
I love the handle on it, great job.
That was simply fantastic. I love the handle shape and the wood you used. Thanks for sharing! Good luck to you.
Awesome work. That jig for filing primary bevel is ingenious.
Really nice workmanship - so satisfying to watch
love the diy bevel grinder. great idea!
The most beautiful chef knife profile. very good result.
It's a beautiful blade. Thanks for sharing.
Using the tip of a drill bit to etch the apex line= genius. Also I’m going to adopt the file zip tied to a rod technique for my plunge lines. I use a belt sander for the grind and sharpening jig for bevels but haven’t been able to produce clean plunge lines. These are the tips a novice like me need to enter the next tier of craftsmanship. I’m glad I clicked your video. Thank you
Incredibly well done! And well made video, with all the right infos. Thank you so much! Keep them coming.
That is a thing of beauty.... well done!!!!!

I like watching your videos because i use pretty much the same way do do knives. It also reminds people that if you want to do something you can do it with what you have. Nice video.
Great work!
I'm enjoyed every minute watching this video👍👍👍👍👍❤👏👏
Bravo! In terms of precision this is already quite a leap forward from your simple-tools hunting knife (which was also quite good, but appeared to have some issues with the pins being loose). Keep up the good work. The fact that you're doing all this with hand tools is really inspiring.
thanks! yea, the first knife had a fair few learning mistakes, getting the bench drill makes drilling the pin holes a breeze
Brilliant job mate👍
really great knife!
Very well done. My compliments.
Well done! Clever work, simple tools/ Gratulálok. Ügyes munka egyszerű eszközökkel
Very nice and handy chef made a knife. Congratulations.
Good work mate 👍🏻
Great work! I need to try to do it myself.
Awesome job dude!!
Very nice job!
Love the style of the knife, the blade and the handle complement each other. Great work, remember the type of tools you use doesnt deminish the final product. Files are more accurate than grinders.
great video and gorgeous knife!!
Uma faca muito bem feita. Muito bonita. Parabéns. 👍
Great job!
Happy new Year Peter!!!!!!

Excellent done muy buen cuchillo 🔪 😎
I truly admire your work! I know you said it took alot with the bevel. But I think it gives the knives more history and richness to it. I'm going to make one with my son and as we will bevel and smooth it out, we will be bonding. Thank you so much for this video, it really brought me joy man that you can make a knife like this. I love it. And I just subscribed!
Great job man.
Beautiful work
really like the knife man. just as a suggestion, if you evenly heat the blade to the same color orange as the tip was before you quench it you will come out with a higher quality knife do to a consistent hardness on the edge. keep making stuff!
Wow that is a beauty!
Good job buddy 👍
