Danny is a master of his craft. This guy is gold. Thanks for bringing this knowledge to us folks on CZcams.
^^^ Amen to that! Danny drops more knowledge on us in a 10 min video than many channels contain in their entire library! Thanks for sharing him and his wisdoms with us here on YT. and lucky YOU to get to have him there first-hand to learn from. Keep up the great content.
Thankyou
I’ve known Danny for about 27 years, his wife since I was born (the whole family are fantastic people) I’ve never met anyone more knowledgeable in their field. I don’t care what field. I don’t think there is another human out there that can compete on his level when it comes to his profession. Also he’s the exact same person you
see in the videos, always ready to help people and share his knowledge. He is a genius.
true that i am 54 year old mechanic and think this dude is remarkable
i love people who makes these kind of informative real world videos.
Danny is a wealth of knowledge l love these videos and Faye has the best coolest voice EVER. Makes watching a real treat!
Haha thank you!! I always really appreciate the comments about my voice, because I always thought I sounded kind of dumb 😂😂😂
Faye, Danny spitting Yoda-Like Knowledge AND the Fuzzy Chickens... now that’s a good morning! 😃
That's some serious talent! Not many left with his knowledge!
I hope you get the opportunity to keep learning with Danny. This master needs an apprentice!
Me too!!!
Very interesting. I had no idea that such problems existed. Young Danny has rare skills...
I can listen to Danny all night long, such a wealth of knowledge. I want MORE Faye!! You're feeding a machine now :P
This series of videos is very much appreciated. The knowledge being shared is great! Thank you, Faye and Danny! 👍
Again Thanks to you an Danny for taking us on this journey
Love this series Faye, very informative and educational. My dad taught me to rebuild engines decades ago, and I am still learning new stuff. Please thank Danny profusely for sharing his knowledge with us !!
Best series ever! My eyes were glued to this... A true master!
Thank you!
Another great chapter, Faye. Danny is nothing short of amazing. Thanks for sharing all of this information with us.
Thank you, I appreciate you filming your experience with Danny, mind blowing the amount of knowledge and experience he has, I learned a lot from this series ☮️

Awesome work Faye and Danny! Can't wait for the next update on the 7m!
So much knowledge. Love it. Thanks for sharing Faye 👍
This series with Danny is fascinating. You are the best Faye, keep the great videos coming, thanks.
I can only repeat it again, Mr. Soliz is damn good.
All his hints and tips are correct and are based on a lot of professional experience.
He has a lot of fine mechanical skills, that is today not very common.......Thank you Faye and Mr Soliz and greetings from Germany......:)
Thats really sweet of you....
For filming this awesome guy at work.. 👍👍
Love your videos with Danny! What a fantastic resource to ahve nearby. Keep on wrenching
The excitement in your voice when it was freed up and spinning was awesome. 👍🎉
@@creamwobbly yes indeed
Another great video in this series. With a straight 6 you have such a long line that alignment is something that requires skill and experience to get right. Can't wait to see the start up!!!
very excited for ya on how good its going keep it up!!!
Your video helped me find who i want to take my heads to. Thanks for finding someone who actually cares about what they do.
Super nice work Danny! The jedi master strikes again
So wonderful to see a true master at his craft.
Dude Danny is dropping knowledge bombs left and right. I'm super glad I found your channel and you definitely need to have more content with Danny!
I promise I will! I'm actually about to take this build to the next level, so much more to come!!!!
This guy has some good points. That being said, here are a few more things to consider from a high performance standpoint, things I learned from my time in the machine shop.
-This type of head should always have the caps marked to the locatikns on the head. The caps have enough varaince in installation in where switching caps between locations can cause binding issues.
-This type of head should be straightened THEN the cam caps cut and the bores honed to spec. This is done after resurfacing to allow for shift in the casting due to machining stresses.
-If a head is straightened through heat or pressure the valve guides need to be replaced and honed or lined and honed. The distortion of the casting is stress enough to distort the valve guides. Burnishing and reaming are not adequare enough to ensure a linear valve guide bore, nor are they adequare enough to achieve the right RA finish in the guide.
-If a head gets surfaced the block should be surfaced as well, this is due to the head distorting to match the topography of the block deck surface. The deck surface can distort the head enough to cause cam binding.
Most notably as it applies to ALL engines, if the manufacturer provides a torqe spec and does not specify lubrication DO NOT apply lubrication to the fastener. Torque is a measure of tension, a bolt dry torqued to 70 ft/lb has a different (lower) tension force than the exact same bolt torqued to 70 ft/lb with lubrication. Also pay attention as many manufacturers ars using torque-to-angle and torque-to-yield fasteners. Some fasteners can be reused some cannot.
y'all dropping great knowledge. Keep it up
Hard to find people like this, great video!
Y’all just saved me yrs of hard earned wisdom; while I make the approach on this old Jeep. Thanks
What a wonderful opportunity to learn from a master of his craft. Love this series of vids Faye..... can’t wait for the next one 😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The wealth of knowledge is amazing...different lubricants having different torque specs??? Would have NEVER guessed that! Thanks Faye and Danny!!!!
Great videos Faye, keep them coming!
Awesome vids...been working on 87 supra with the 7M and your vids have helped alot!! 🤘
Faye ,it's Easy to see you are a Mechanic. You're Finger's go Left, Right Left. Just Checking Every Detail 👍👍👍 ❤
He makes it look so easy. I've a spare engine, I'm gonna go play. Thanks Faye and Danny.
Wow thanks for the video! I never knew the heads can be fixed like that! Learned something new today! Specially how different oils can throw your torque specs off!!😱
Beautiful work,On cylinder head great video series Faye
You are awesome Faye your energy is infectious I could listen to you all day!! And really enjoy listening to Danny he is so fun to watch great teacher keep the videos coming with both of you his knowledge is priceless!!
Thanks for the videos! You gave some of us 7m owners some hope!!!
Yes!! Always have hope 🙏🏻
I love watching this! So addictive
It’s a beautiful thing building an engine when everything turns as it should. It’s worth getting to know that feeling on all the components. Many years ago I had an engine that had a few issues, someone else’s comeback. On stripping it down and spinning the crank it didn’t feel right...it span too freely. Turned out it had installed 0.010” undersize main bearings! 😳
Awesome vid Faye!
Thanks for sharing this, awesome video on cam bearings
I hope you find more stuff to bring this dude, his knowledge and the way he explains what he's doing is awesome, and that's from someone whose been doing mechanic work for 30+ years. Impressive!
Thank you!! And don't worry - I just added a new level of complexity to this project, and I also have a spare engine for my truck to build!!
It doesn't matter what it is you are interested in... When you watch a skilled craftsman do their work it's all fascinating to watch. In this case this is a very interesting subject for me so even better. thanks Faye!
WOW! Just WOW. Makes me wanna move down there and follow him around. Pearls of Wisdom...
Completely understood!!! he actually just started his own CZcams channel and launched his introduction video today!! m.czcams.com/channels/VVLIJLIKzOJ5W-VCAGF9MQ.html so he will be sharing more pearls with the world!!!👍🏻
👍👍👍 One for you, one for Danny, and one for the content. Great job!
Haha thank you!!!
Faye, your personality is priceless. Glad I found your channel. What a dream girl.
Best head series ever!
Just as much an art as it is a science .Cool !
From Rhode Island-for those of us that get out hands into this stuff like you Faye-'nother great vid-thanks-look forward to tha next! Have a Supra day!
Love your content!!! Thank you so much for sharing
Danny is the man!!!!!! Thank you Faye!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing Faye.
Wow. I'm blown away on the way Danny adjusted those cams. I can't believe they turn that easy. He's a real pro.
He is!! I'm so grateful !!
Don't you just love it when it all comes together without machining. None of the new guys know this oldschool stuff anymore. Racing back in the day, we had no money so we had to learn the tricks to fix the problems at home. Old Ford Kent OHV xflows, and then some.
What an education on this series!
Second watch and even more learned. Thanks Faye and Danny.
Faye, you have found a legend there in Danny, so passionate about his craft and strives for perfection. We call it engineers blue here, very useful to have, if not a marker pen can be good for marking out. Good thought on the different lubes giving different torques on bolts, never considered that, but as soon as he said it I knew it made sense. Thanks for another school day, love how easily the cams moved at the end, great work :-)
ARP usually has a little piece of paper in with their products that give the torque requirements with different lubes, or bolt stretch requirements. If you can, use bolt stretch to torque your fasteners. Its much more accurate.
when you wake up in the morning and there is a new video from Faye, you know it is going to be a good day and to add the whip cream and cherry on top, you have Danny with his knowledge and goofy personality. Keep up the great videos love watching them. :)
:)) thank you!!!
Awesome......Danny is beyond wise!! Great vid Faye......thx for the update!!
🐔🐔
What a pleasure watching a master at work. Hard to find people like that.
So I’m a trucker. Odd how I arrived here. Just watched and enjoyed this video and fix with great results. Thanks Danny for the education. It was Fun watch in the scale house parking, I-75S, London KY.
Actually Danny is very interesting and easy to understand. He seems very humble and willing to teach his methods. Faye your lucky to learn from Danny. Soak up all the knowledge you can.
Absolutely! I will not take this opportunity for granted!!!
Nice progress!
A master at work!
Another great faye video with her amazing smile 😁
Awesome Faye, machinist like this are hard to come by.
this is the 1st usefull video after searching exactly what I need to do to my Lotus v8 heads. Now to find the machinest!
Great video and thanks for the tips
Hi Faye, another great episode, you and Danny are great, keep it up please. 👍🇦🇺
Luv the series. Very educational! Hopefully Danny can pass on his knowledge before he retires. Soak up what you can. It can only make you better.👍
machining is a dying art an the rare few who still practice... that are masters, you probably will never here about them. love this video faye!
A lot to learn from Danny!
Faye I forwarded your link to my friend who looks and sounds like you(adorable) and is not afraid to crawl under her Jeep and get dirty. Thanks for helping inspire her and myself as well. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Oh killer!! Tell her that she rocks!!
Pretty awesome video. Nothing like setting up a nice performance engine. I will have to watch the series and see if you degree the cams. I love doing that.
U did an awesome job again I have watched all of u r videos love the content and the chickens 🐔
Danny is wise when it comes to If it ain't broke don't fix it. a true rare commodity in today's disposable world. If i ever have any need he's one of the few who won't machime the crap out of parts to true 'em up. He reminds me of Uncle Tony. And Faye I show up cause of your personality, although fresh paint on the nails is nice.
@Faye loving the lessons from the machinist. Awesome build
I'm impressed!
Wow I don’t know what to say but I enjoyed the video I thought it was very good not too many people get into camshaft and head work and stuff like that they always talk about the bottom and rods pistons stuff like that so I thought that was a great video I always say you did a great job and the gentleman who in the video can’t wait to see your next video thank you very much I hope it helped other people out to and your video I’m very impressed😁
Well that timing though...I just watched will it fit yesterday. I also have a 1990 7M-GTE Supra, from what I've seen I'm thinking I might have to take a trip to TX to get my engine straightened out by Danny.
You should! It's nice here 😊
@@FayeHadley I live in Washington right now, but I'm actually moving to (Abq) New Mexico at the beginning of April, that's why I mentioned it. It's definitely an easy trip from there and I wouldn't mind kicking it in SA for a few days.
Damn, that's very satisfying indeed!
Love your videos 😍
Awesome skills there.
I love the 30 weight oil versus the ARP Lube differences in the torque specifications that knowledge is f****** priceless
I want to thank you and Danny for your informational advice. I learned that when my car was getting repaired my son had gone to Walmart to get the oil. I told him it uses either 5 weight 30 or 10 weight 30 I preferred Quaker State. He got 10 weight 40 and it was some cheap brand; he said that’s all they had at the time. I got 10 weight 30 and refilled the radiator and overflow ( to the line). My radiator cap is ok for now. I have to replace the one they gave me at O’ Reilly for the metal cap. I think it’s called “ original factory “ parts.(???) I think you know what I am talking about or trying to say. But, it sounds a hella whole lots better. Thank you, Thank you Thank you. 👍👍😀 ( I am happy for you that you are getting your car repaired. Also, once you get to know your machine: what’s in it, all it’s parts, how it runs and how to maintain it NO one can tell ya different. I love it. Good car !! Pat, pat , pat ..😀
can't wait to see that beast fire up and roar to life up its been quite the journey
Same!!!!!!
That excitment is contagious.
There REALLY should be more Techs like you and craftsmen like Danny. Too many aren't willing to share what they know, and I really think that hurts the DIYer. Look forward to more lady.
Never seen a head straightened like that. Awesome videos
This was a very good video thanks for sharing
Dam i had to rewind it a couple of times the cams spinning free like that is so satisfying can’t wait to see and hear it fire up
Same!!!! Haha I have also watched this video a few times and I also saw it in person!! I have to watch these videos over and over again throughout the week so that I don't get 7M withdrawal before Saturday rolls around again 😂😂😂
Faye Hadley the end result is gonna be well worth the wait
Well done 👍
Good video. Exactly what I needed to know cause I have an overhead cam engine that needs a refresh and then some to accommodate an m122 supercharger.
Toolmakers dye.... In a bind (pardon the pun) you can use a Sharpie instead 👍
Dykem is pretty expensive...I end up using a sharpie a lot. And oil takes the ink right off.
