London Heathrow may just be one of the best airports in the world for plane spotting. With its incredible international movements, it is one of the busiest airports in the world, and is definitely the busiest at the best of times. Receiving traffic from North America, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, it is an airport you certainly need to add to your bucket list.
This video features some early morning arrivals from both runway 27R & 27L. The arrival rush starts at 6am and you'll see a large variety of A380s along with arrivals from Asia, North America and Africa. As you'll see in the video, the variety of airlines is tremendous. I started filming for the first hour at the Renaissance hotel whilst it was busy enough for both runways to be used for arrivals. After 7am I moved over to the south runway to a spot I found with minimal obstructions and a visible touchdown!

Ok, what’s the guess as to what plane ( assumed another A380) and what airline the mismatched upper deck forward escape slide cover is from on the opening footage of Qantas touchdown?
Does anyone know if the B787 has a lower flare angle as part of the standard landing procedure? It seems that 787s don't need to flare nearly as much as, say, an A330.
Why is there only a handful of airlines that have the A380 like British Airways, Qantas, Emirates, etc. Why doesn’t the US have any airlines using that plane?

It’s not fuel efficient
US airports can hardly accommodate a a380 and plus an a380 are used for long haul international or intercontinental flights most airlines in the US operate a lot of domestic medium or short haul flights
Costs a lot of money for an aircraft that can operate into a limited amount of airports due to it weighing more than a fully loaded 747-8, so there’s a weight restriction. In addition, it has no conversion potential to carry cargo, so it can only be used for passenger operations and there is no secondary market. Furthermore, it chugs fuel due to having 4 engines, resulting in increased maintenance. Most airports in the US aren’t slot controlled save a small handful like JFK, that the A380 could feasibly operate into, so airlines just add another flight to wherever whenever they need to, further decreasing the reasons to operate such a large aircraft. Lastly, preferences, US consumers have proven time and again that they prefer a wide variety of different flight times over a single daily service, favoring small aircraft operating more frequencies to destinations. Qatar, Emirates, etc operate on very large hub and spoke models from a single main airport so there’s a lot of demand moving into and out of Dubai and Doha, compared to the US airlines where, even though they operate the same model, the demand spikes on certain routes like JFK-LAX or JFK-SFO, are better handled by the flying public as a series of options for multiple flights per day rather than one singular flight owing to lots of competition. For the same cost as a A380, two or three 767s could operate more seats, so there is diminishing returns.

From now on, I'm not going to pay attention to ONLY A380s! I like to look at special decorated liveries of any aircraft.
Plus, from 6:19 in video, for FOUR arrivals, I'm noticing that all of them are BA arrivals. The only differences is their route, and obvio their time if their routes are different; also that all of the arrivals were B777 except for the second one, which was a B787. Plus I did see two BA A380 arrivals.

2:05 something is not right am i dreaming or is a medium sized plane from the US go to the UK
Air Transat has been flying the A321neo from Toronto to London Gatwick since 2001. A few CZcamsr's have done flight reviews, and from what I've seen 8 hours with a window seat doesn't look comfortable in economy due to the inflight entertainment box at your feet taking away leg room with the narrow cabin. I'm flying to London in a few weeks, and I paid extra with Air Canada just to be on a widebody 777.
