Moment Ukrainian Troops Come Under Artillery Fire as Kharkiv Attack Begins

- Russian troops are marching into Kharkiv region from multiple positions.
This unverified footage shows Ukrainian troops struggling under a Russian artillery bombardment in the country’s north east.
Footage shows soldiers walking into the northeastern border area of the country unchallenged.
Ukrainian troops have criticised the lack of preparation.
It was well known that an incursion on the border was likely to happen.
A solider took to social media, saying ‘The enemy freely entered the grey zone along the entire cordon line in two years, there should have been concrete fortifications... on the Ukrainian border!’
However, the governor of Kharkiv region maintained that the situation ‘is currently fully under control’, but admitted that delays in supply of weapons from the West had taken a toll on Ukrainian defence.
Recent attacks have forced civilians to the boarder town of Vovchansk and nearby villages as Russian troops surround them.
The advance comes as President Vladimir Putin removed Sergei Shoigu as Defence Minister.
The long-time Putin ally has been accused of taking bribes and overseeing more than 355,000 casualties among Russian troops.
He’s to be replaced by a civilian and former deputy prime minister, Andrei Belousov.
The shake up marks a significant move for Putin, after months of speculation that there is serious instability in the Kremlin.

Of course the Russian incursion into Kharkiv was inevitable after Ukraine launched cluster munitions into Belgorod, aimed at civilian centers. It was not a question of if, but when. Ukraine has had plenty of time to prepare defences, but it seems they have not done this. So yet again, the people of Ukraine have been let down by their civilian and military leadership.

They failed to fortify anything apart from the already well fortified Donbas, making it appear essential to hold on to the last man, which turned out to be profligate and wasteful. They wasted all newly provided resources and manpower on attacking a well fortified, defence in depth, Russian lines. They failed to negotiate for peace, when they still had men, an economy and territory. Now they have lost almost everything. All because of a fanatical hatred of Russia and their own Russian ethnic peoples.
Shoigu was not accused of anything. He was promoted to the position where he would head the military industrial production of Russia.

It’s just Putin getting around to what he intends anyway. It’s clear his intent is seizing however much of the country he can get away with, and his larger objective is to destabilize the global balance of power to the detriment of the West and the U.S. and in his favor (I think even Russia is secondary, it’s more about his power). There is no escalation to this kind of intent, his objectives are already absolute. The only way to blunt it is to force defeat.

The reason is that Russia's logistics is a hundred orders of magnitude higher than the European one, they carry tanks directly from factories to the front, and in Europe? And the necessary ammunition still needs to be delivered to Europe from the United States, after which this ammunition will be comprehended by the bureaucracy. Add here the resource and military production potential. What is the resource potential in Europe, is it comparable to Russia? And there's Iran, North Korea and, of course, China at hand, which of course does not directly provide components, but is happy to supply machine tools and production technologies, and maybe ammunition, indirectly, through North Korea.
