it's actually a play on words that was translated correctly! i assume it's referencing how the wood is too 'unmotivated' to stand up straight like wood is supposed to. 'flexible' in japanese is 'yawarakai', and 'unmotivated' is 'yarukinai' or 'yarukiganai', which is what the creator is using (roughly)

Kanji has multiple meanings depending on its surrounding letters so the jokes don't come through. Also the name makes sense to me, the clock wont let you push the buttons to turn it off until some time passes so the sound will motivate you to want to turn it off so it stops you being unmotivated to snooze and go strait back to sleep
"If YARUKI breaks, it means your mind is at your limit and you can quit your job"

The motivation of the wood motivates me to do my work
Maybe if you put bits of rubber inside the yaruki it would spring away more when released. You could use a very unmotivated yaruki that would be more flexible but with the rubber it could still be very springy.
what does "unmotivated yaruki" mean? I tried looking it up and got nothing.
@@henryw1067 Yaruki is the proper name for the wooden column with alternating cuts so that it becomes floppy and springy. Unmotivated is the word used in the English captions for Yaruki with low stiffness. Unmotivated Yaruki = very floppy wood spring thing

you could put springs under the clock itself then when the alarm goes off it and the wood will fly all over the place, then you will really have to get motivated lol.

Mayby for adjusting the curve, you might do some maths, the yaruki needs to finish in the tangent, so the interior radius needs to size the same as the sum of the segmentos of the yaruki
