    These are amazing! Playful and yet so versatile while offering top quality. #notsponsored Loved the idea of the small vases with flowers, this is more fun than just swatching squares 😊. Neocolor II are great to make underpaintings for soft pastels, among other things. Thanks for sharing this, your little paintings are beautiful!

      That's a great idea with the soft pastels! I could see that working well. They really encourage play, and that's what I like best about them so far. Thanks you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 😊

    I started out with the 30 set. Liked them so much I completed the full set. I have some maribu crayons; they’re not inexpensive, they are soft and remind me of a lipstick; I prefer neocolors.

      I do admit having more colours is tempting! 🤭 Wow, like a lipstick, that's really soft! Thanks for letting us know about the Maribu Crayons. 💛

    I’ve seen some direct comparisons between these and the mungyo artist grade that were favorable.

    Great review. I just got a set of Caran D’ache crayons and have drawn my first exercise, but haven’t wet it yet. I’ll be painting it after yoga. Thank you!

    I have found that mixed media paper is the best for these because watercolor paper contains too much tooth and it’s more difficult to get a smooth layer.

    P.S. Lyra has a set ox water soluble wax crayons as well. I still prefer Caran d'Ache, because they blund and dissolve so well. Lyras have a lower price point and are very good quality. They are available only in sets and not open stock, which is a deal breaker for me.

      @warmyellowshade  Před 2 měsíci

      I can see why, picking your own colors is usually best. But thanks for the tip about the Lyra crayons!

    Some time ago I was able to obtain a large used set of Neocolor 2's. But it's almost too many, making it hard to choose some for a picture. So I'm going to gather these colors to make up this pastel group. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and using them to make some little works for us!
    Btw, I love your nail polish. May I ask what's the color? 😊

      @@warmyellowshade Oh my goodness, thank you! Btw, today I was able to gather a pastel set with a few substitutions that make it comparable to the one in your video. Thanks again and I hope you have a lovely visit with your family. ❤

    People say they feel like drawing with the core of color pencil. It’s just doesn’t have the wood shell and these are a bit more waxy. That kinda turn me off. I was thinking it is opaque and thick like oil pastel and thought about getting one.
    Does it feel like drawing with color pencil?

    • @warmyellowshade
      @warmyellowshade  Před 2 měsíci

      No, I would say it's more like drawing with a pastel. It is a bit more slippery? I'm looking for the right word. Waxy, I guess! 😁 They are quite opaque and I have seen many mixed media artists use them to add finishing touches. I would check Kate Moody's channel for examples. I hope that helps! 💛

    Other than a slight better pigment Quality than maribu art crayons. I don't see the big deal with these. I mean for the price! What exactly can you really do with them? Besides mark making. They just seem pointless.

    • @warmyellowshade
      @warmyellowshade  Před 2 měsíci

      Maribu Art Crayons, thanks I will look into those! I agree that they are definitely not for everyone. But if you are used to working pastels, I think you can achieve quite a bit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      @@warmyellowshade The marubu art crayons are bigger and softer. Kinda remind me of the texture of lipstick. I like these a bit better because they're smaller and harder. That being said, definitely check out the marubu if you get the chance.
