Disney’s 1994 Lion King was great! I loved the music, and it actually made me cry. I also remember Disney saying that it took them several years to do the Stampede scene. We need movies like that again.

  • @karanvirkooner1993

the original 1994 Lion King is a masterpiece

  • @AlbertusMagnus_44

Calling Iger the Terrible “soulless” seems appropriate.

  • @Halbared

The structure is Hamlet, in a Kimba suit.

  • @sixter4157

Jonas! You hit me in the feels! That "Dad you got to wake up." quote hit too hard. Now that I have a 4 year old that comes into my room if I dont wake up first and says "Dad, wake up." I just think how it would be if I couldnt wake up because I passed in the night. 😡

  • @karanvirkooner1993

Disney doesn’t deserve my money and they ain’t gettin my money at all

  • @TheRogueAttraction

The first 101 dalmatian live action was good back in the day

Yet another crapfest movie from Disney that no one wanted or asked for. And like their DEI agenda, Disney won't stop making remakes / reimagined movies from their cartoons. It seems Iger wants to leave his mark by damaging Walt Disney's legacy and replacing it with his modern vision. Well in that regard he is succeeding in single handedly damaging a brand that use to be a money-making juggernaut. The Lion King stood out due to its emotional depth, risk-taking, and ability to entertain while addressing complex themes. And as a result, it remains a timeless favorite for viewers of all generations. Also, it had a fantastic cast of voice actors (Matthew Broderick, Rowan Atkinson, Robert Guillaume, James Earl Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Nathan Lane, Jeremy Irons, Ernie Sabella). In comparison, this movie has none of the magic, wonder or heartfelt moments of the original. And it's destined to become yet another colossal box office disaster for Disney. It's hard to imagine that Disney is so creatively bankrupt they can't come up with any new and original ideas for their movies.

I think he meant communal apathy, and that hits the mark for Disney today.

  • @valentinafaina4032

I am not sure if Bob Iger HAS a soul.

  • @KenDAKL4ever

I do have to push back a little in fairness. This movie isn't the director's brainchild and I'm not going to shame him or anyone working on this to collect a paycheck. Yeah, it's going to the wail yet again, but blame the people at the top, not the people making a living

  • @kalzium8857

The "live action" adaption from the lion king was a tech demo at best. I think it was one of the more damaging movies for Disney. It made a lot of money, but it made people aware that these live action remakes are soulless moneymakers.

  • @hamdinger7145

    Stop the insanity

  • @arcanerune9134

Their first mistake is using the absolutly abysmal live action lions again. I for one refuse to watch even another min of lions with broken lower limbs again. The bio mechanics where soo off and stood out. It was shameful and Disney should have been embarrassed by it

  • @Nazzlover38

It's just another one of those Disney films nobody asked for.

  • @justinfriedrich5741

Bob Iger is definitely the head of a soulless cash grab machine. What happened to the heart? Usually when products are released or built it’s made from the heart, now there isn’t any heart into it. It’s basically change this, change that, include this, exclude that, that’s not a plan for a successful show, movie, or attraction. Fans are already diverse and inclusive and as fans we don’t actually care about if the characters look like us, we care about the story and everything around the story that makes it a success. Release it, show it, or ride it as soon as it’s in the hands of the public it’s our voice that matters and there’s no way to spin it. Good or bad, an honest opinion is better than a dishonest childish opinion. There’s a quote saying, “You’re not grown until you know how to communicate, apologize, be truthful, and accepting accountability without blaming someone else.” Maybe, that’s why the Disney brothers are partners one side is the creative side and the other is the grown up side that will keep the roof over the heads. So, Bob Iger is a weatherman so he is pretty good at entertaining in a creative side but who is the partner in his business side. I mean with the jury out the news people could say Kathleen Kennedy but does she really count because her business strategy tanks three or more franchises.

  • @varkesh456

Barry j so dissapointing in that he totally missed the point.

  • @IsThisLive67

The King of Pride Rock? Methinks, it's time to start calling VashSky the man of a thousand names.

  • @rodrigosmith24

I’m prepretty sure no one asked for this. Plus now Mufasa is not of Royal lineage….😑

  • @chuck037

His defence was solid. I'll give the film a chance. Barry's an excellent director.
