    Discovered this channel today, great content. Explanations of what you are doing and crop management very good. I always lean to and follow agricultural content having been through the RAC and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor. With Wardle Waffle, Harry's Farm, Olly and Tom Pemberton (plus a few US farmers) these videos provide an excellent overview of the complexities of farming. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on SFI and food security.

    So good to see some crops doing so well, full of promise. Great chat about OSR and flea beetle damage v seed dressings. Andrew Ward made similar point with Sugar Beet seed dressing in latest waffle. Sadly, personally I hate Mustard as a condiment. But great to see a crop grown destined for a British product.

    Another brilliant insight James, so pleased you highlighted the bee versus neo nics seed dressing issue, it’s complete bloody madness it’s banned! At least we had a derogation this year whilst growing sugar beet😊. Love this channel, so much better than wardys waffle 👍

    Great video James.
    It’s so nice to see a highly efficient, well run, farm business who take great pride in what they do. A real credit to you and your employees. Keep up the good work. Couldn’t agree more with you, about your concerns about grass weeds exploding under some of the SFI options. I see blackgrasss/ryegrass control as the largest threat to arable farming in the future.

    @JohnDeerefan-fo1qp Před 2 měsíci

    Question, you’re talking about neonictocides and the dressing being taken off the seed and the flea beetle pressure that has brought on. Is it just the UK that banned the seed dressing? Still see a lot of OSR grown here in Ireland . Whether we don’t have flea beetle or what I don’t know. (Not an arable farmer)

    • @whitesofoldcantley1622
      @whitesofoldcantley1622 Před 2 měsíci

      I believe the whole of the EU has banned the seed dressing. But we still import plenty of Ukrainian OSR which has neonics. Give it a couple more years and the UK won’t be growing any OSR, but plenty of wild flowers 😢

    I'd love to know who exactly advises the government minister who then comes out with rules that make it so difficult to farm , what a pointless idea it is to not use the dressing for flea beetle when we then import the osr from other countries where it it used .

    As you mention you/others "farm" bees to pollinate your crops, then your crops are not strictly Vegan. Sorry to be a pedant.. 😊
