Marko is playing "The Beast", his doubleneck Warwick bass / Framus guitar.
The part that wasn't translated in the captions was Marko saying "I suppose if I sing the chorus you'll sing it with me? You will? Okay, it goes like this."

Another such a tasty piece is from the Wembley concert and is called When your lips are still red.
A song made by Marko, for which Tuomas wrote the lyrics.
Originally, the song was not made for Nightwish. But Marko thought it didn't fit the scale of his band Tarot and offered it to Nightwish.
Nightwish even made a music video for it, a really good one. It's worth watching.
Now the song is one of those that NW will never perform again. Tuomas has said that certain songs are "Marko's songs" and no one else touches them. So NW won't be performing them...
BTW. Now in the summer of 2024, Marko's original band Tarot will play 4 gigs in Finland, if I remember correctly.
In addition, Marko does gigs with his solo band and also with other artists (such as Tarja Turunen).
We are also waiting with interest to see if Northern Kings will play gigs (they did in the summer of 2022). Four Finnish men, metal singers, of which Marko is one. They make metal versions of pop / rock songs.
An amazing Song. We played it on the funeral from my dad two years ago. This Song fits to his life in any way.

Great reaction Inna. If you were wondering what Marco was speaking in the middle of the song he was speaking finnish. He was asking the audience to sing along the chorus. Tampere is biggest inland city of Finland.

Ironically, NW was a folk band that switched to symphonic metal before Tarja was hired (before Marco).

The studio version of 'The Islander' (and music video) was done in 2007 w/ Anette Olzen... another ballad w/ Marco on lead vocals by Nightwish was 'While your lips are still red'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
When Tuomas first started on Nightwish songs back in 1995, it was supposed to be a folk/ acoustic project... much like 'The Islander'... It was Tarja, the first vocalist, who sang on the original demos that inspired Tuomas to write more songs and transform Nightwish into a metal project that we know today.

Marko calls this guitar/bass the beast. This one was co-written by Marko. It gives him a little time to shine on vocals and Gives Floor a little break. Who was that incredible backup vocalist? The Queen! Marko says, "Check it out, I have the greatest backup singer in the world". Pretty cool!

It's a bass and a guitar, an 8kg heavy monster that Marko calls The Beast.
The non translated part goes "If I sing the chorus will you sing along? yeah. You sure? YEAH! Ok lets do it"
A Marko moment indeed, and yes very diffrent from other NW songs, but absolute in the top section of NW songs..
That is “The Beast”. It is a double neck bass/ 6-string guitar. It weighs about 45lbs./ 20kg.🤘🎸
If you want to hear Marko with his own band (as opposed to NW/Tarot/Northern Kings/whoever he's guesting with), I recommend _The_ _Voice_ _of_ _My_ _Father._ There are two versions, an English one and a Finnish one _(Isäni_ _ääni),_ both are worth hearing. In fact, doing the double, English first, might be good!

A bass guitar has 4 strings mostly... sometimes 5 strings. A regular acoustic or electric guitar will have 6 strings. Hopefully that makes it easier for you to delineate at a glance.

Did you know? (Probably.) Floor is a cancer survivor. When she joined Nightwish she had 48 hours to prepare for their Waken concert. She was seven months pregnant (and showing) during one of their tours. She had met Hannes Van Dahl (with Sabaton) backstage somewhere some time ago when they didn’t even know of each other. He was drinking whiskey and she asked for some. They started talking and she asked if they could share a cigar. He was thinking “Wow! A rock opera goddess who likes whiskey and cigars? I have to marry her.” And they did it. Got married, I mean. But that was later. It’s not generally known what else they did on the night they met. (Use your imagination.)😊
