Pretty good for a guy who had a botched operation on a vocal cord and had to learn to sing all over again, eh? This is my favorite Nightwish/Marko song. He is such a consumate preformer, and he had those 20,000 plus people in the palm of his hand. He just looks so happy to be exactly where he is. The love and admiration that each member of this band has for the others is so inspiring. Floor's smile as he walks back to the band is downright proud. The instrument that Troy was using is, I think, a long whistle. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. I am so happy that you are continuing your Nightwish journey. If you want another totally different song from this group, I think you would like "My Walden", official live at Tampere. Or, if you want to rock some more, give "Song of Myself", live at Wacken 2013 correct speed (I don't think you have reacted to that yet, could be wrong) a try.

Marko Hietala and the Dutch Anneke van Giersbergen are on the South American tour "Six Strings And a Voice" in September-October. They perform solo material from both of them.
They perform in the following countries: Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico. The shows in Colombia are on 10.10. (Bogota) and 11.10. (Medellin)

BTW. Marko Hietala is currently married to a Brazilian woman, so that tour is also an opportunity for them to meet relatives on the wife's side. Currently, Marko, his wife and little daughter live partly in Spain and partly in Finland.

Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, bassist, songwriter and incredible vocalist both solo and in harmony!
He is playing a custom Warwick bass/Framus guitar, double neck, model Infinity Panthera...nicknamed "The Beast" bc it's quite heavy! The guitar has a beautiful tone!

@@CamiVocalist Yep, the upper part (longer neck) of that double neck instrument, is a bass guitar and the lower part (shorter neck) which Marko played here is a guitar. 😉

Marko will tour acoustically with Anneke van Giersbergen, a singer from The Netherlands, and the guitarist, Tuomas Wäinölä, from Marko's band, this autumn, September-November, in South America. 8 countries, 20 concerts in 25 days. Including 2 concerts i Colombia. Anneke and Marko both perform a set of their own first, and they end the concerts singing together.
Marko has a 9 month old baby daughter with his second wife, Cami (!), she is Brazilian. Her first child, Marko has twin sons - they are 22 now I think - with his first wife. One of the twins, Miro, plays drums. Marko, his older brother Sakari a.k.a. Zachary and Miro form a band called
ALL HIETALA POWER TRIO, they play Black Sabbath covers.
Marko also had/has a band TAROT with his brother. Tarot hasn't performed in years, after their drummer died. But now they are rehearsing for two charity concerts with a drummer from another band. It is possible that Tarot makes a longer come back.
Marko has a special relationship with a symphonic metal band, DELAIN, from The Netherlands. He played the bass on one of their albums years ago, and has done vocals on 3 or 4 Delain albums. He has done some studio sound engineering for them as well. Marko has been on stage with Delain many, many times. A few weeks ago in Switzerland. The first time, I believe, with Delain's new famale vocalist.

If I remember correctly, Nightwish was to be a folk rock/metal band, but after realizing Tarja's voice was too powerful for just folk Tuomas added the symphonic elements into the mix.
But folk's always been there.

Si quieres disfrutar con la voz de Marco, puedes ver el video de la canción "Kiss, while your lips are still red" en el concierto del estadio de Wembley, una gran canción, donde también Floor da soporte con sus coros a la magnifica interpretación de Marco.

Troy's instrument is Irish - it is called a Low Whistle.
He can play anything 🤯

The instrument is a long whistle, a type of flute (flutes tend to be played sideways and produce a different tone compared to whistles/recorders which are played vertically). This is one of the few songs written by Marco. Keep in mind how secure both singers are - Marco singing with a powerful female lead as backup, and Floor not feeling belittled by singing backup. Just friends.
This was an amazing performance as usual! I didn't know Marko wrote the song 😲 that's impressive.. I love how they complement each other 🙌🏻♥️
I think you will be interested in this interview with Marko, which was done by another singer / vocal coach. After the initial mandatory questions (how did the gig go, when will the next album come out, how is his health - especially his mental health), they move on to discuss Marko's singing, how he takes care of his voice, how he warms up before the concert, what is his vocal range, etc.
Very interesting, because usually none of the interviewers ask him such things.

You really shouldn't be so quick to cut off the introduction and ending of video's. He explained the band was not there at the start in a funny way. Troy's instrument is called a "Low Tin Whistle". They are tuned to individual keys so he has a bucket of them in different keys.
It depends on which video she's watching, I've seen several reactions recently where the intro is cut off of the original. Edit This version is from the official Nightwish channel, the longer version with the intro is an older fan upload.
The intro was not cut in the description you can check the original video and you will see there was no intro. Greetings
