- In this totk theory video I discuss the existence of an eight secret stone! This is because of time travel in the zelda series, but this isn't a timeline discussion. I have a couple videos for that

You’re forgetting the fact that there had to had been at least 3 more stones created for the spring guardians to have gone through draconification, meaning at least 10 stones were created + Zelda’s dupe stone

Isn’t it technically eleven? I might be wrong, but I think based on that one cutscene with Zelda, the dragons had to have at one point swallowed a secret stone to become, you know, dragons, I might be wrong though
That is the theory; that Naydra, Dinraal, and Farosh swallowed secret stones. But I wasn’t trying to complicate it with layering multiple theories. We physically see 8 secret stones
@hchatnation262 technically we DO see 8 stones, but that isn't an actual 8th stone to add to the count. That is just a second instance of the same 1 stone.
There must be atually more than that based on the dark dragon skeletons we find in the depths. If we could kill ganondorf's dragon, someone musk have killed those as well

In the past there’s 8, in the future there’s 6 (technically seven if you count the one inside of dragon zelda’s stomach but she turns back and has it again) but throughout the gameplay, there’s only six
Not to mention that since Zelda took the stone back in tim there are still only 7 in the present

There are 8 between when zelda appears back in time and when zelda goes back in time

5 for the sages including mineru
1 for ganondorf/Sonia
1 for Zelda/rauru coz I think that the secret stone that fell off was rauru's and he sacrificed himself to seal ganon, dats y ganon also has a secret stone during the fight against link

2. Rauru seals Ganon
3. Seal is broken
4. Brings Zelda back in time
5. Is worn by Zelda
6. Zelda eats it
Tadammm. Chronologically, 5&1 happen at the same time, but that stone travelled through time. It's like meeting your past self. It doesn't mean there are two of you.

Nah. Nah. Nah. It’s not duplication. It’s the same stone. If it was duplicated, there would be two in the present era. But since the present era only has Zelda’s snack she ate, that means there is only one. And that’s if it survived Zelda’s reversed draconifation.

Funny anecdote aside, it is still 7, Because at no point does the stone split itself or create another stone.
Another stone is created when Zelda goes back in time. It takes on a separate ability (time power) when Zelda takes it in the present time. That’s my take anyway
@@hchatnation except it doesn't. The stone's benefits change to match the user. By this logic, there would be 9 stones because Ganondorf converted Sonia's.
My point about the stone changing ability is to say, we see 2 separate stones with 2 different abilities right next to each other. The game is very clear that Sonia’s stone simply changes hands when Ganondorf takes it. During the imprisoning war, there are 8 participants, each with a physical, unique secret stone
@hchatnation262 think of it like a line. If you put events into the perspective of the stone, at no point does it fork. It's with Raru, then Zelda picks it up, then Zelda consumes the stone. The only reason a new stone would be created is if you argue that the old stone is destroyed when a new user picks it up, which we would come back to Ganon.
Brcause that 8th stone is still the 7th stone, or Rauru's stone, so while she does have another stone, its not technically another one that existed and was given to her. I think? I'm incapable of wording out my thoughts to the highest detail.

You fogot one detail that Minaru mentioned. She said that if someone were to swallow their secret stone, they would turn into a dragon. We saw EXACTLY how that looks with Zelda and Ganondorf, it also means that it happened before. Those three dragons we've seen since BotW are the firsts to swallow their secret stones. That brings the total to 11 secret stones with there being 10 before Zelda time traveled.
More. There had to happen something, that made Zonai turn Draconification taboo. And Spring guardians probably aren't the reason for it
It’s not duplication, it’s one of those cause-effect theories, just like you said the stone just traveled back in time and existed with itself, but it’s theoretically living a linear “life”, first being owned by Rauru, then spending thousands of years in the depths to being found by Zelda so that she could go back in time so that the past could happen. (I’m not gonna say what Zelda does with it at end but if you know, you know)
An argument could be made that some of the duplication techniques are time loop causalities

The stone was double existing for a time. It is duped when she arrives back in time, and ceased to be double existing when she picked it up and goes back in time. So, the duration of the story in ToTk there is only one, and it resides in Zelda’s dragon stomach or whatever.
Question: the stone we see at the start of the game in the temple of time, is that a real stone? Presumably its zelda's time stone (the one that was rauru's before), but zelda swallowed that, so presumably its inside the light dragon?
There's alot of weird stuff going on at that moment generally, so maybe there's an explanation
judging by how its different in appearance from the other stones we see im guessing its a projection of zeldas stone through spacetime

@@hchatnationwell for 12 yes, but we know from the memories that there were more stones as they call swallowing a stone a forbidden act, they were well aware what would happen so it is safe to assume that 9-11 are draconified Zonai (based on the dragon’s ears).
Isn't Darkness one corrupted TIME? Sonia was Sage of Time before Zelda, and Ganondorf has her stone, not Rauru's.
Also, isn't the Granter of Boons (I'm like 75% sure this is the Cursed Horned Statue's correct title, it's not Bargainer, they're separate entities... Wouldn't be surprised if Granter is to Bargainer like Golden Goddesses to Hylia tho')
On the other topic, if we're giving the Sheikah the secret stone based on their sage from Ocarina, how will you explain, why Gerudo is Lightning now, and Mineru has Soul? After all, Spirit Temple was Gerudo one in Ocarina...
And on that track, would Deku Tree have the secret stone of Forest?
This isn't Canon anywhere, but I like to believe that the Yiga have a secret stone, because HOW does a regular guy shapechange, bullet time, make pillars of stone, cleave wind, teleport and eat so many bananas their height doubles?
Its still 7 excluding the destroyed one, and the extra dragons because when zelda goes back in time and there are 8 stones at once, then if you zoom back to the present, we loose raurus stone BECAUSE zelda took it back.
Basically, yes at once, there was 8 stones, but after zelda goes back in time, chronologically speaking, the 8th one disapears
I think there were many more made when the zonai first came to Hyrule. Also, the arm link gets off Rauru works similarly to a secret stone, as we can see link himself receiving the abilities, not the arm. This is even more so for recall when he was given the power by Zelda.
After eating the stone Zelda dragon has lived all the way to the time that Zelda time traveled with the stone, meaning the stone did not get duplicated.

Based on my ingame research of dialogues, I strongly believe the Stones were either mined or created from the depths. And the ancient robots / constructs who were even wiser and efficient than their masters created and refiened the stones. Possible sources could be Zonaite of course ore for example sth holy like the ember crystal parts of the light roots. The zonai shrines are also made from a green crystal rock seedling turning into a full shrine.

And here I thought you were going to bring up that Dinraal, Naydra and Farosh are dragons similar to the dragons that Zelda and Ganon turn into. While this may add up to 11, Raru’s duplicated stone isn’t a factor after the ending, and Mineru’s seems to disappear when her spirit moves on, making the number 9 or 10.

I was kinda thinking that anyone during the time Zelda went back into the past, that anyone from zonai to hylia could have a secret stone. This is just my opinion or theory but we don't really know who created the secret stones but we do know that whoever possesses one, it has to deal with the character somehow. Example Rauru, everyone looks towards him and relies on him a lot like a guiding light, and Zelda who, everyone looks towards and relies on her bc she's the princess of Hyrule, and her obsession over past events and history. That's why her secret stone is time and light. I think anyone can have their own secret stone because it's kinda connected to their personalities. I think link could have a secret stone that boosts his courage and strength bc it most likely suits him.
The secret stone of Time found paradoxes to be a headache. Dupes are just easier to cope with

There's also the dragons. It's unclear if they exist in the past, but it's known how to make them so one was probably made, meaning there could be 9 or more depending on how many existing dragons were made using the 8 we know of

It would be a dupe glitch until we realize that she didn't alter the timeline. Rauru's secret stone still is used to seal Ganondorf, and then still is found by Zelda. It's the same stone relieving it's old memories, and thus, it becomes a loop like the ouroborous on the title screen. So there's still only 7 stones, just one stone at two separate times.
8 stones in the past, until you find out about the geoglyphs
At one point there was a duped one but it eventually evens itself out back to seven (not counting the three from the three dragons)

All this means is that the Eight Heroine Statues don't necessarily represent 8 People.
But due to the obscurity of the Legends/Myths, the Gerudo people represent the 8 Secret Stones as 8 Heroines.
With a Statue representing 1 of all 7 Stones:7 Sages, and Zelda + her stone represented as the Eighth Statue. (Being a second Stone of Rauru's)

As I believe the Zonai Oracles were much older, wiser, and might be "retcons" of the Three Goddesses AS the Ancient Zonai, which means these Dragon Spirits of BotW/TotK ARE the EXACT SAME 'Goddesses' who created the World, the Tri Force, and the Bloodline that Zelda is descended from...
The stone that fell from Rauru's hand is the light stone, given that after that Link gets Rauru's hand with his stone.
Four sages now and then = 4
Zelda/Rauru = 1
Sonia/Ganondorf = 1
Mineru = 1
That totals 7 Stones. But then there’s another three, which belonged to Farore, Dinraal, and Naydra. So technically 10, but if you want to count useable stones, by the end of the game, only Sonia/Ganondorf’s stone is actually known to be fully destroyed, and the dragons’ stones are technically unusable. Except for Zelda, who I guess regurgitated theirs. That does technically bring us to 6.

There are possible 3 more secret stones. The Fire, Lightning, and Ice dragons (if you don't know the Light Dragon, I'm not spoiling that) were potentially Zonai who underwent draconification making them each have a stone.

It also seems like there would be a lot more considering it’s a powerful artifact made by a highly advanced race. But it’s probably saved only for the worthy.

There was 8 stones from the time Zelda teleported to until her and Link explored the depths in the first cutscene, every other moment of time outside of that time period there’s 7.
In the present before link defeated ganondorf there was 10 but before rauru sealed ganondorf there were 11, with rauru's stone and zelda's duplicate rauru stone.

For the duration of time that Zelda was in the past, yes, there were 8 secret stones. However, it goes back to 7 stones once we hit the beginning of totk timeline wise, since it’s the one Zelda takes back in the first place. So it’s only 7 in the end. (Excluding missing secret stones possibly used by other dragons) Funny enough, I just discussed this with some people on discord.
Well, thing is, Raru's secret stone is not there when zelda is back as a dragon, so technically, in past there may have been 8, in the present, there are only 7.
