      I suspect in order to attack or even touch Ganondorf you would need to break or interfear with Rararu's seal and set Ganondorf free. Remember Ganondorf was trapped and weakend but he did create several calamity Ganons over the generations so not defenseless. Sure he was probably more weakend when the seal was new but again messing with Ganondorf might have accidently freed him. Also when Zelda told Rauru about the future where Ganondorf is still alive and powerful Rauru said that the best possiblity was that Zelda's presence could change history and allow them to win. But if they were not able to change history it was garunteed that the future Zelda described would come true. So no matter what Zelda would find "Ganondorf he lives on until my time as powerful as ever". If they couldn't change history and Ganondorf would still be alive and powerful in the future for sure then they only they could do was make preperations to help Link deal with Ganondorf when the inevitable happened.

      For the same reason that Link didn't immediately warn Zelda of Ganondorf's plans in Ocarina of Time when he first went back in time: we would have a much shorter game. But, really, we could have just played that story as the game instead with that as the ending...

      No, Fujibayashi said it's a possibility "Hyrule" may have been destroyed prior to the memories, and specified it was only a possibility. He said this in response to someone who was under the erroneous assumption that the Hyrule, as a whole, was founded immediately after the end of Skyward Sword. Since Fujibayashi never specified if he meant "Hyrule the land" or "Hyrule the Kingdom" we can't know what he meant, but:
      A. Regardless of when the memories take place both the land and kingdom are named Hyrule regardless, and in the case of what immediately follows Skyward Sword, the Era of Chaos, it's likely anything founded before that would be destroyed or heavily damaged anyways.
      B. Fujibayashi stressed that it was "ONLY A POSSIBILITY."

      Why TF should a theorist be a better writer than the creator of the source material that they're theorizing on? It's Nintendo's job to write a solid, fully functional narrative; all theorists need to do is take the subjective parts of that narrative and expand upon them in interesting ways that could give the story even more theoretical depth. It matters far less if a theorist is "lazy" than it does if the source writer is lazy!

    The Japanese Text tells that the Zonai were Kami, while Kami basically means God/Gods, this is in context not the same as the Picture of the modern Monotheistic picture of a God.
    Kami arent completely eternal, they also can perrish at a certain Point or during a certain incident, just like the Asgardian Gods in the scandinavian Mythology.
    Maybe since it is said that the Zonai are some sort of Descendants, it is possible that they didnt get passed down all of the Knowledge, like about the Triforce or similar. The Triforce itself was mostly hidden away and only the Royal Family, mainly Descendants of Skyward Sword Zelda, knew about it.
    So I rather assume that neither Rauru nor Mineru, who is actually the one with all the Zonai's Knowledge, just didnt knew about anything because. aybe did their Gods/Ancestors not tell them all or they did know of some minor parts but they saw Hyrule as a complete wasteland.
    The Japanese Version made it more clear what could have happened, which got cut out by the English Version, however, the Shrines of Light Rauru created might give a Special Hint to what happened.
    Unlike the Shiekah Shrines these were never meant to train the Hero, they were even pre-existing before this era's Ganondorf started his attack.
    The purpose of these shrines was so it can function as a Cage for Monsters and Demons.
    Maybe due to some apocalyptc event Hyrule was destroyed by Monsters overrunning this Kingdom for a long time, I mean no matter if this Founding was Post-Skyward-Sword or Post-Timeline-Events, it is strange that they put away their regular clothing for less practical Greek/Inca Clothess

    Small note about the sky barrier: it's stated in three places in TotK (that I know of) that the sky islands appeared at the same time Hyrule Castle went up and the Chasms opened. From the Notes on the Upheaval journal at Purah's house in Lookout Landing ("On that day, the land shook, and huge chasms that seemed bottomless opened in the ground. The clouds billowed and roiled as floating islands appeared in the skies, raining chunks of ruins down on us. And strangest of all, Hyrule Castle began to float in the air"), from Lourda the first time we go to Dueling Peaks Stable ("After the Upheaval, several Zonai ruins suddenly appeared up there"), and in Riju's journal in Gerudo Town ("Both Link and Zelda have gone missing while exploring below Hyrule Castle. Shortly after they were lost, the castle lifted off into the sky, where it was joined by countless small, floating islands"), and we can also clearly see the surface from the Great Sky Island even during the tutorial (you can see the Lake Hylia geoglyph in the opening dive cutscene)
    So the Light Dragon flying up through the clouds at the end of the tutorial wasn't what broke the sky barrier that was concealing the sky islands, it was broken by the Upheaval itself, but maybe there was a smaller sky barrier shielding only the Great Sky Island to protect Link while he recovered, and THAT was what the Light Dragon broke through at the end of the tutorial? There's a debate to be had about whether draconified dragon-people still retain some of their human consciousness, but as we see with the Demon Dragon, the person's last thought/intent as a human seems to carry over into their dragon form, and Zelda's last thought was to help Link destroy the Demon King/help him protect Hyrule, so maybe that translated into the Light Dragon having a protective instinct around Link which led to the creation of a sky barrier to conceal the landmass Link was recovering on
    And IMO the biggest inconsistency with TotK's Era of Founding being so far back in the past as to predate all other Zelda games is...the geography of ancient Hyrule that we see in the memories. It's still similar enough to BotW/present-day TotK that we can pick out landmarks, and some of the locations look EXACTLY as they do in the modern era (Oseira Plains and Taobab Grassland in The Gerudo Assault, Lake Kolomo in Zelda And Sonia, and the architecture of the walls of the Great Plateau still being the same as they appear in the present). I REALLY don't buy that Hyrule's geography changed so dramatically to appear as it did in other games, only to then go right back to a near-identical layout, and for this reason (and others), I'm of the opinion that there was a convergence of the timelines and that this Era of Founding is a brand new Hyrule, wwwaaaaayyyyy after the last installments of all previous timelines

    • @Banuune
      @Banuune  Před 7 měsíci

      My problem here is the Architechture. If the Hylians built hyrule First, it got "destroyed", then Rauru built his kingdom, which was floated, WHY would they do back to the same architechture they had prior to rauru? Because the Temple of Time for example, "is said to be" the same temple as in Ocarina, or at least from the artstyle. Why would they have the OoT temple, then Rauru's Temple and THEN rebuilt the old temple.
      For me the architechture is the most significant point to my argument xD

    • @Banuune
      @Banuune  Před 7 měsíci +1

      And yeah, I guess Zeldra, I mean the LIght Dragon, has made a Cloud Barrier for the Great Sky Island and Mineru, Zonai or Sheika, have made another othe for the rest of the Sky, that was Shut off when Ganondorf punshed the Pillar above him, as @monstermaze suggested in his video ^^

    • @Sarah_H
      @Sarah_H Před 7 měsíci

      @@Banuune IMO the sky barrier (and the magic concealing the geoglyphs, and Hyrule Castle, and the catacombs under the castle leading down to the Imprisoning Chamber) was made by the ancient Hylians who became the ancient Sheikah, which is the only other ancient technologically advanced race that we know of and which would have still been around after the disappearance of the Zonai and the raising of the Great Sky Island. Impa tells us that the geoglyphs were drawn by ancient peoples who came into contact with the Dragon Tears, and those only came down AFTER the Imprisoning War, and the Sheikah had a Wifi system where their tech was all tied to a central hub in Hyrule Castle that activated it in BotW, so they could have tied the magics concealing the sky islands and the geoglyphs to the Imprisoning Spike/Conduit/Whatever
      And IMO it isn't that they built over the Temple of Time from OoT, we see that the myths of a past Hyrule have persisted even up to this modern era, with locations and the Divine Beasts being named after mythical figures, so new structures could have been named after mythical places of significance like the Temple of Time. Hell, even the name "Hyrule" was from the Era of Myth, confirming that Rauru/the Zonai knew the myths of a past Hyrule, and the Old Man's dialogue in BotW that says the Great Plateau/the Temple of Time is said to be "the birthplace of the entire kingdom of Hyrule" makes sense in the context that this is where the seat of power was for Rauru's Hyrule. The original kingdom and all its architecture would have been washed away in the Great Flood of Wind Waker, and in BotW/TotK the Temple of Time is in the same architectural style as Hyrule Castle, which was definitely built AFTER the Imprisoning War and the raising of the Great Sky Island by Hyruleans, so: the Great Plateau was where Rauru built his castle and the original Temple of Time, then the GSI and the original Temple were raised, and the current, dilapidated Temple of Time was built in its place, to be a place to worship the Goddesses. Ancient Hyruleans might have even had a firsthand account of the kingdom of myth in the Great Deku Tree, if this is the same one from OoT and Wind Waker, which is very likely given the continued existence of the Koroks and how his roots reach all the way down to the Depths

    There is to many contradictions that needs to be retcon to put Rauru´s Hyrule where you put it like,
    The races at Rauru's founding
    That the races was united before the unification war
    The Gerudo ears
    The castle that was built over where Ganondorf was sealed
    That they don't know about the Tri-force or the Master sword.

    • @Banuune
      @Banuune  Před 7 měsíci +3

      Hey. So, in the prologue of Skyward sword it is said that the races lived under Hylias guidance. And that there was peace. We also see them together next to Hylia, which tells me, that the races lived together or acted together when Hylia was still present. The mogma also say that once those below and above the surface once lived together.
      Also no problem of the races being united.
      Specific races being present is not a problem. We see zora and rito coexisting in botw and totk. And we also see in twilight princess hd, that the rito were also present. Plus you have to consider that Nintendo would never, just for the sake of cutscenes and so, make new models for the sages in the past. I mean the goron sage doesn't even have a face. You can imagine how much effort was put into the races and sages from the past... same with the gerudo. The gerudo we see behind Ganondorf are reused assets. So they just re-used the normal gerudo woman, altered it a bit and that's it. So I don't give to much thought onto them. But Ganondorf having rounded ears is more significant, as he a "new model".
      And I don't get the augment of castle. Sure the castle was built after Ganon was sealed. And we see a castle in minish cap, why can't it be the same castle? Who tells me, after we see so many temples in skyward sword, there is no castle?
      Plus, them not knowing about the triforce and Master sword is exactly my argument, as between the past and present of skyward sword the triforce is hidden in the sky (while we see rauru being on the ground) and the master sword is still the goddess sword. That's why they don't know about the master sword...

      All Gerudo before before Botw, Totk and Totk past have rounded ears but in Totk past they have pointy ears which proves that Totk past can´t be before Ocarina of time.
      The castle that is built over the seal if it takes any damage will weaken the seal and release Ganondorf.
      If Rauru´s Hyrule is where you think then he would know about the Tri-force because of the war between Hylia and Demise showed to the world that the Tri-force existed.

      We don't know for 100% that there were no zora. Or rito. We only see 3 regions in ss and we also know there is the gerudo fly. So gerudo was a thing. And I really do not take any gerudo except for Ganondorf as granted. They are just re-used arrests with few minor changes. Ganondorf is the only one that was built from the ground up and he HAS rounded ears.
      I thought about it much, but except for the races thing, I can't figure out how it would fit otherwise.
      My problem is:
      How do you explain that the architecture ,from the temple of time for example, went from Hylian, to zonai, back to Hylian. Why would you go back to previous architecture if you could improve.

      It's stated it happens after this:
      "The only person standing in the way of his machinations was a young man with the soul of the hero who wielded the Master Sword", which is ocarina of time. So, as you know, in my theory Ganondorf in total came first, then time passed, another Ganondorf came and that when the gerudo said "you know what? Let's not do this anymore. There is a reason we only allow women". So from this point on -> no gerudo king

    A very good theory, but there’s one massive problem that throws a wrench in this entire theory….you know him, you hate him! Ganondorf
    Ganondorf cannot exist before Demise’s defeat, because he only exists as a result of the events of Skyward Sword, Zelda and Link choose to settle on the ground only after the oh so famous curse of “I will rise again. Those like you... Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero... They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time!"
    Ganondorf cannot be born unless there is a Zelda and Link in the world. The only exception is when the current Ganondorf doesn’t die , such as Twilight Princess Wind Waker and the original legend of Zelda and even then a reincarnation or rarely a blood descendent are usually queued up and ready when he does return. Even if you want to argue that fate itself pulled Zelda back in time to meet up with this ganondorf and fulfill the curse, it doesn’t fix it, as the same should have happened to link.

      Hey. I never said Ganondorf first ;)
      What I said in my video is:
      Demise curdes link in the PAST of Skyward Sword and we mainly play in the PRESENT.
      And I am simply placing TOTK's PAST inbetween those times.
      Fi says: "this is a tale that you humans have passed down through COUNTLESS generations" and she is a very good in calculating things, so her not being able to say a specific number, says a lot. So a looooooooot of time has passed between the past and the present of Skyward sword. Plenty of time for TOTK's events to happen and be forgotten. But that's just a theory ;)

    • @Banuune
      @Banuune  Před 24 dny

      Oh and also: we know NOTHING from Ganondorf exept him being Gerudo. We see Koume and Kotake are young and already there. So isn't it possible that the sisters "re-created" totk's Ganondorf in OOT too? Like brainwashed the Gerudo Male the same way they did before. And maybe it's because of the other totk's Ganondorf being under Hyrule, that Ganon is always so focused on the Castle. Because in totk he only wants the stone from the Zonai and Darkness. And in every other game he wants the castle first, then darkness.
      And that's why oot and totk are so similar event vise. Because they are both brainwashed and raised by the same people.

    @TomMooreT2S Před měsícem +1

    Hey, Banuune. You probably might have noticed me in the comment section in one of Moxie’s videos. I made the speculative exaggeration of how the ancient leviathans of Hyrule somehow were connected to the antagonists of Kirby Star Allies, the Three Mage Sisters. While I can honestly say that throughout my playthroughs of both Era of the Wilds titles, the leviathans and the events that brought their ultimate demise remained amongst the biggest mysteries that caught my attention. While sadly we were still left with no answers, I took the creative liberty of “filling in the gaps.” Ever since my “discovery”, I took deeper dives into both the leviathans’ existence and the backstory of the Mage Sisters. Strangely enough, the more I learn about the Mage Sisters, the more I keep on pointing them to Hyrule. The loose connections between Kirby and The Legend of Zelda have become a little too obvious that most people seem to have not noticed. For example, take a side-by-side look at Nauru’s 2D sprite model in Oracle of Ages to the appearance of Francisca. Don’t they look alike? Not to mention the calm, collected personality of Francisca, as well as her powers of ice and water. That spells Nayru, both oracle and goddess. Not enough? Let’s look at Flamberge. Fan artwork depict Flamberge unmasked and you notice right off the bat that she has a fang. While some could say she’s vampire-like, but let’s dive a little deeper. Batreaux. A friendly demon who wishes to be human. His wish is granted if the player obtains all Gratitude Crystals… sort of. Bottom line is that he too had fangs in his demon form, but human form or not, he is still that of demon origin. Now am I saying that Flamberge is possibly a descendant of Batreaux? Before I can answer that, you have to know Flamberge’s questionable personality… Flamberge is easily angered and short-tempered. She’s the polar opposite of Batreaux’s personality. So if I took that into consideration, who in Skyward Sword would fit the category of rude and short-tempered?… Groose. While it remains unknown if Batreaux eventually got a spouse after his human appearance, let alone Groose eventually gets paired with say… Peatrice for a possibility. Again, this is just speculation, but hear me out. If one is to look into a family tree, there comes a time when families eventually come together in each passing generation. Given Flamberge’s “demon” heritage, she could have possibly have been a descendant of Batreaux, but also given her short-tempered personality, she could also be a descendant of Groose. At some point, their respective families might have joined together. Possibly giving birth to Flamberge. As if that hasn’t been convincing enough, let’s now look at Zan Partizanne, the eldest of the Mage Sister trio. She has undying loyalty to Lord Hyness, the mages’ officiant. She’d follow him regardless of his insanity. Now bear in mind, “undying loyalty”… that’s more of a Sheikah trait. The Sheikah and Yiga have undying loyalty to their respective deities. The Sheikah to Hylia and the royalty of Hyrule, and the Yiga to Demon King Ganondorf and his manifested hatred and malice, Calamity Ganon. Zan Partizanne betters fits the description of undying loyalty no matter which end she would face. The tear in the Sheikah Eye represents the horrific things the Sheikah have done to keep the line of Hylia secure. The taiko drums in Zan’s ring-shaped contraption has tear-shaped symbols that resemble the tomoe, and that in turn resembles the Amber/Dusk relics in the Silent Realm, or the Zonai Secret Stones. Surprise or not in the latter point, given the Sheikah tech was inspired by the Zonai tech.
    With all of this into consideration… did the Mage Sisters originate from Hyrule? Is Francisca a possible descendant of Goddess Nayru? Is Flamberge in the bloodline of both Batreaux and Groose? Was Zan a Sheikah? All three started out as normal girls until environmental disasters struck. When Hyness first found and saved them, it’s possible that the Sisters first assumed their Poe-like appearances from that point on. Bear in mind, all three of them were said to be orphans… And also bear in mind that they, like Hyness, fell into the influence of Void Termina, the mastermind of their misery. I also pointed out that the Dark Skeletons in the Depths might have been manifested reminders of that. If you look deeper, each of them are habitats of Gloom Spawns. Strangely enough, the Phantom Ganon encountered at the Gerudo Dark Skeleton is equipped with a spear. The others at the other Dark Skeletons carried swords. Gerudo, a land associated with lightning… Which of the Mages carries a spear and bears the power of lightning? Zan Partizanne.
    As if that isn’t proof enough, in BOTW, near the remains of the Eldin leviathan, there are four rocks that form a circle. Strangely enough, this was no Korok puzzle. Stones can mark as a memorial or a grave of someone who died. Flamberge was caught in a blazing inferno when she was just inches away from death. Those rocks don’t appear in TOTK… If you exit the cave where the Hebra leviathan is located at the North Hebra Summit, you continue around looking at a snowfield until you notice an active Guardian stays still until approached. I’m willing to bet that was as far as Francisca went before she collapsed near-death. In TOTK, the Guardian is replaced with rubble from the sky islands with a Frost Gleeok guarding it nearby… In BOTW, at the Gerudo leviathan’s remains, you find the warm, cool, and electric safflinas. Now doesn’t that say something I’ve mentioning this whole time. In TOTK, if you completed the Regional phenomenon in the Gerudo Desert, you can exit the cave where the leviathans’ (counting the child) skeletons are located and the Lightning Temple is directly in front of you. It was obvious… The Lightning Temple was the towering structure Zan climbed to the top of… to “end it all… herself…” The roof of the Lightning Temple was where she attempted suicide… using the lightning to take her life… One by one, Lord Hyness arrived and granted the powers of the very elements that nearly took the girls, and took them as his own disciples.
    What do you think? Isn’t it shocking? (No pun) Or do you think I might’ve spent too much time piecing together fan fiction?

    If they planned all this out instead of making it up as they go why dont we see Zonai in other games? They only appear after Breath of the wild. All the Zonai ruins are absent from all the other games. Theres also Groose, heavily implied to be the founder of the Gerudo. This would need to be retconned. Then there is Ganondorfs ears. His ears are rounded like the Gerudo of OOT, which the Gerudo that follow him have pointed ears like the Gerudo of BOTW who got pointed ears from constant breeding with Hylians. This points to ToTk taking place after Skyward sword and the other 3D games.
    Theres also the Zora to consider. There ARE Zora in the ToTK era as one of them is a sage. Specifically they are sea Zora, not river Zora but Zora didnt exist in the Skyward Sword Era.
    You've put in more effort into the timeline than Nintendo has. They honestly just dont care about it. They just like making games without worrying about it and the more they do that the more the contradictions pile up.

    I mean its possible that the original founding from skyward swords history was lost at some point, after all thats exactly what has happened both in totk and irl for us with indigenous people like the mayans or other groups of people like roanoke. Things just get lost without explanation, and the original founding couldve fallen through which led to totk's founding becoming known by the people as hyrules actual founding since its more in recent memory and its history is more intact than skyward swords history

      We must not forget that this is a game. And they rememberd stuff that was 10.000 Years ago.
      We Humans made fire with sticks just 500 years ago. And look at us now.
      In BotW it is said that the sheika had this technology 10.000 years ago, so where did they advance?
      Nowhere. So we can not compare OUR world to the world of Zelda. Also BotW Zelda mentions the past Heros, which she shouldn't, if the History was lost entirely. And in TP Shad tells us a "race closer to the gods than hylians founden Hyrule". So people knew about that. They just forgot what they looked like, as Zelda mentions in TotK at the murals.
      So if rauru founded his hyrule after all the other Games, than HE should know about the Zelda's and Link's from those games, as Zelda LATER in botw remembers them.
      Ok?

    I think that instead this takes place in an alternate version where Demise was defeated and taken forward in time. The defeat of Demise causes a dragonbreak and allows a different Hyrule to be founded. This one, however, is founded by the Zonai and Hylians with Hylia being alive but no longer present in the human world. She perhaps withdrew after ensuring she had her own decedents with Sonia being one, thus her time power. That or she just granted Sonia that power instead, maybe as a gift for the founding of the kingdom. Now with Rauru, it could be that he believed what Zelda warned him about but did nothing out of concern that it could disrupt the timeline severely. It might be that he didn't want to change the course of history so he allowed things to play out how they would. Honestly, I think that would be for the best as the changing of history is something nobody can predict the effects of.

    (I haven't finished watching the entire video yet so I will be editing this to add on)
    I just realized the sigual* (I'm probably spelling that wrong) that forms when the imprisoned is, well, re-imprissoned. I definitely noticed it before and I'm sure everyone else has but I only now tried to really look at it. Of course, as a magical sigual* it probably helps hold down the imprisoned but I feel like there is more to be seen in the pattern of it (which changes every resealing, its possible it changes to a stronger one) and the pattern done with the sword. The spike has a contant flow of the white-ish sacred energy or force untill its put back, which is when the energy eminates outward to form the sigual. But the thing I find odd is that, instead of constantly glowing with sacred force, it turn black as though instantly corrupted (or to feed the force down into the ground for it to properly seal). Also why does the imprisoned still have the spike on its head, I mean we do know why but, do we really. Wouldn't he want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. And why would he want to destroy the sealed temple, (the more I type this out the more questions I have pop into my head) outside of getting rid of the gate of time of course. If the temple of time was built above the sealed temple, then wheres the giant goddess statue?, (not the one in the forgotten temple, that ones too small to be the same). Why did the gate of time even disappear at the end of the game?
    I'm definitely going to look into this myself but I whanted to bring some attention to it because of how odd it seems to me.
    [Edit]- I forgot to mention this before but the sigual is also there in the past, which makes sense.
    [Edit2]- Nevermind I don't have anything more to add, amazing video though!

    I actually made the connection to Skyward Sword as well but you made some great points that help explain it a lot better. Most notably how the auto build ability would explain that there are a few ruins of structures that had to be built normally but then the rest just disapeared when the structures were moved / damaged because they were built with auto build. One thing I noticed was the robots in Skyward Sword that only work when we used time shift stones. We don't get to see the actual era they were built in so there is a potential hint to the Zonai who seemed to come out of nowhere. Technology as advanced as those robots is rare in the Zelda series and it always felt weird to me that we saw those robots at the begining of the timeline. But if we have the highly advanced Zonai race that could have built them and then died out before any of the other games then that could explain it.

    I tried super hard to make this theory work bc i really like it. (I made different timeline splits and everything, but to no avail.)
    8:22-8:26 is just factually untrue. If you look at the ending of SS, Link is said to have "eradicated" Demise the same way he is said to have "eradicated" Demise by wishing on the Tri-force.
    If Link "eradicates" Demise in the Past, why/how does Link go on his journey to "eradicate" Demise/the Imprisioned by wishing upon the Tri-force thousands of years after Rauru's Hyrule and Imprisoning war with Ganondorf?
    (Demise/the Imprisoned would've long been "eradicated" by the time SS Link comes along, according to your theory.)

Calamity Ganon is just a gigantic phantom Ganon even calamity Ganon and phantom Ganon have the same color. Wait am I dumb, or am I missing something. How could there be two master swords? You said, that after the past of skyward sword, the past of totk took place. It was there where Zelda recieved the broken master sword, only to seal it and give it enough light power over 100000 years. However, when skyward sword takes place, we (or link) create the master sword. That means, if I understood your theory correctly, there should be a broken master sword up in the sky AND a master sword down on the surface. 😅
    To be honest (if I'm not wrong) that makes no sense 😅

      Exactly. There are 2 master swords present in all times. It must be. As we know we find a master sword in botw but another sword is still with Zelda flying around. It's the time from totk where the sword is being sent back and being drawn again from Zelda that it goes back to being just one sword.

    Idk, from where we stand, I still fail to see how Hyrule was “refounded”. Gossip Geist made an interesting video that the Era of the Wilds bear absolutely no connection with the overarching timeline and instead is a timeline unto itself, a separate reality. I agree with him.
    Timeline convergence?
    Restarting the timeline?
    Refounding and absolutely no memory at all of the original founding?
    Remind me again why these are supposedly the case?

      I have to read the other comment with more time but i can answere this one :)
      I agree, that a new split, probably during SS time, would make the MOST sense.
      My theory is more what i came up with while acknowledging the Interview where Nintedno said "no new break- It fits into the existing timeline".
      That made me think how to fit it in.
      Rauru doesn't know about the Master Sword, Zelda, Link or anything. Yet demise's curse is already presnet.
      The only time in the timeline where non of it was a thing yet the curse being present, was inbetween the past and present of skyward sword. In the past of SS Link fights demise, where he is cursed. The master sword is already a thing here, yet being kept a secret as time travel brought it here.
      REMEMBER THAT AT THIS TIME THE GODDESS SWORD IS STILL IN THE SKY!
      Keep that fact in mind and watch the video again, lol, then you maybe understand what I'm saying a bit better. But as I said: yes, a split would be the best option! I agree. But if we try to make sense of it in the existing timeline, yeah, I think my theory makes the most sense. ^^

    I wonder though, how is it that Ganondorf is sealed by Rauru, and then years later, is reincarnated again in Ocarina of Time? (And later in Four Swords Adventures, if that counts) Additionally, from the Creating a Champion book, it’s stated that there was once a single Gerudo male born every 100 years, but that stopped happening long ago, implying that because TotK Ganondorf is sealed away, and not killed, then no more Gerudo Males can be born until he dies. How would that work out?

    • @Banuune

      Koume and kotake still existed. The gerudo probably didn't want a man as their leader but the twins brainwashed everybody and made the people that this male HAS to become king, so the next reincarnation would have an "easy start".
      Koume and kotake are probably also the reason why the gerudo "forgot" that there was a ganondorf in their history of kings already and that this one brought bad shit to the world. At least 350 years have passed between those events and oot. And maybe the then born gerudo male, was not suitable enough for demise and that's why it chose for example vaati instead for his plans but still failed. Lol.

    Cheers to your channel and great video! So I stumbled across this right after watching a Zeltik timeline summary published earlier today that is nowhere near as thorough as this. That being said I'm going to repost what I wrote there because I think you'll get a lot more from it here because your summary is the closest I've seen to my understanding and I'd be grateful for your thoughts as I'm likely going to produce a video on it as I haven't seen these takeaways elsewhere.
    Edit: The following is copied and pasted as a response to another video so ignore some of the direct comments on the timeline video it was responding to.
    I really respect the logic and effort that has gone into this timeline summary but IMO it's obvious the writers are showing us how The Legends of Zelda began.
    BOTW/TOTK Zelda is the first person in history to be known as Zelda. If Rauru and Sonia were re founding Hyrule after generations of Princess Zeldas in the past they would recognize the significance of her name. Yet the name means nothing to them, they just understand her importance by virtue of the secret stone she has and the innate connections they feel with her. It's clear that the tradition of naming princesses of Hyrule was inspired by the sage of time who became..... wait for it.....
    The goddess Hylia aka the Light Dragon.
    All the dragons have names and the Light Dragon created and dispersed the cloud barrier to protect and reveal the sky islands which is why she would be known to the skylians (see what I did there) as their goddess protector Hylia. Skyward sword Zelda (Descendant of Rauru & Sonia's child raised and hidden by the royal chamberlain) is the first Zelda to return to the land of Hyrule and whose descendants began living in Hyrule Castle after centuries of it just being a place that the sheikah maintained as a seal for TOTK Ganondorf. Demise is just the manifestation of Ganondorf that placed the curse on blood of goddess & spirit of hero ensuring that his future incarnations would hunt their legacy with prejudice hopefully ensuring his full resurrection.
    Furthermore, this timeline completely ignores the evolution of the creation stories of Hyrule, the golden goddesses were the first Zonai who terraformed the Earth and created a paradise for themselves. They eventually consumed their secret stones to prevent them from being wielded by the interloper tribe. These interlopers were just bad faith Zonai, creators of Majora's Mask. Rauru sealed this tribe during the imprisoning war into the Twilight realm where they eventually became the Twili. Zant's outfit is clearly a variation of the depths armor and these interlopers clearly used "Dark Magic" akin to the dark clumps. These interlopers were likely the creators of the bargaining statues & those whose societal role was to escort the poes to the beyond. Majora's mask was likely formed out of abusing this process, yet not sealed with them to prune their power or ability to escape their imprisonment.
    This left Rauru & Mineru as the last Zonai of earth and with no choice but to integrate themselves into Hylian culture if they ever wanted to be remembered or have a legacy. Besides the Ganondorf's that are explicitly stated as the same, Oot and TP, all other Ganondorf's are named such because a male is only born to the gerudo every hundred years or so. It's very likely they would have a tradition of naming this destined to be King of the Gerudo Ganondorf, just as princesses are named Zelda and Heroes are named Link.
    Lastly, Rauru and Sonia's child was likely the first person known as Hylia and the one to begin the tradition of naming their daughter Zelda out of respect for the sage of time who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the future of her parent's kingdom and ensure Zelda's existence in the future. This Hylia was known as a goddess by virtue of her unique Zonai Appearance and shared blood of the Light Dragon, whose transformation was witnessed by the remaining sages and constructs right after she stored Mineru's Poe in the Purah Pad to guide Link in the future after her mortal injury in the battle with Ganondorf. The first Hero to protect the seal of Ganondorf towards the end of the imprisoning war (which lasted hundreds of years and includes Zonai Civil interloper War and TOTK Ganondorf's Imprisoning) is the first Hero Known to history and direct descendent of Hylia whom inherited a variation of Zonai features seen in the Hero's Aspect.
    /End Transmission.

    Its actually very simple, Something had happened with Hyrule and the royal family that they lost there traditions and a lot of their history. So by the time Rauru and Sonia came around there had not been a royal family for some time. So Rauru and Sonia are the founders of this era's Hyrule, they are not the first ever and this timeline does not go after Skyward sword and its not another timeline split. I dont understand how this concept is so hard for the Zelda community to grasp. The Zelda team even said in an interview that its possible over time that a lot of Hyrules history got lost by the time Ruaru showed up. It literally took me and my wife like 5 minutes to put that together lol Good video and all but its not all that complicated.

And we see the Royal family still having this architechture in botw/totk. How do you explain them going from roman- to greek- back to roman again. Wouldn't make sense in my opnion. Only if the Greek stuff dissapeared and you only know about and see roman, than you would just improve that but not change it entirely.

    • @nathandeleau5100
      @nathandeleau5100 Před 7 měsíci +4

      True, I just think that whatever happened to the land destroyed so much of the civilization and they just didnt or couldnt rebuild in the same way. Then so much time has past that by the time Ruaru came around its likely that the people were more like a tribe instead of a kingdom like before. So they still worshiped Hylia since Sonia was some kind of priestess with the Triforce tattood on her and Rauru brought his style of architecture to the land. Then after they left maybe they were now able to go back to there roots with the castle being built over Ganons sealed body and then using the name Zelda once again. Idk its still confusing a little bit but i know that NIntendo isnt trying to make another timeline or anything. I think its simpler then were making it out to be.

This means that its a fundamental flaw in the original forging of the sword it means that Zelda in Skyward sword never blessed the Master sword and an alternative method of empowering the sword was used. So 1- If the castle was built just after the raising of the zonai landmarks, why isn't there in Skyward Sword? and 2- If the Demon King was sealed below the castle in totk's past, with the seal broken only in totk's present, at the very end of the timeline, how can Skyward Sword's Demise be the same Demon King?

    The best explanation I've seen is that the past of TotK is so far in the future, that past Hyrule kingdoms became myths and legends. So technically Rauru wasn't lying or breaking the timeline when he said they founded Hyrule. We're talking about 100k years after Zelda 2.
    It's implied in BotW that the Calamity that happened 10k years prior wasn't the first Calamity

    • @Banuune
      @Banuune  Před 16 dny +1

      IIIIIIdon't see that. I don't see how the Royal family was able to keep track of 95% of thei history throughout the entire timeline, loose it completly, and then gain it back out of a sudden.
      Rauru has never heard about a Zelda, never heard someone else claiming being from hyrule as they JUST FOUNDED IT, never heard of a Link ever before who played the fucking biggest part in their history, and never heard about the master sword until Zelda told him. THE ONLY TIME where non of those where ever a thing was during the Time between the events of Skyward Swords Past and Presnet. As Zelda and Link weren't born yet, the Goddess Sword was still in the Sky and wasn't turned into the master sword yet, the Triforce is the Symbol of hylia and the Temple of Time which is still on the ground during this time, so the Triforce is something Rauru knew about obviously. And as Demise playced the curse on Link in the PAST, Demises curse is already present during the PRESENT of the game. It's a loop.
      So aply that to totk. you will see, that i could be right here.
      It would also not break the timeline. I thought about that hard but wasn't able to fully explain my thoughts in the video.
      I'm working on some Elden Ring stuff currently and it will take some time but I PROMISE I will make another timeline video and maybe there I'll be able to fully explain what I mean and why I think I could be right here

    edit: found this intreaging and would like to see more did have a few isuses:
    Origonal: First there is an ocarina of time conflict with ganondorf and our currant breath of the wild ganondorf as no one in ocarina of time seemed to recognize ganondorf witch if the events happed the way you said would have been treated a bit more as a threat by the king of that hyrule as this event had already happed. Second, the currant game or both breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom is at the official end of all currant time lines. Would you be proposing that only the currant time is at the end of all these timelines? I find that a bit difficult to believe. Third, there is currently another theory out about it being a refounding of hyrule with no prior knowledge of the past hyrule as said hyrule was completly decimated to the point that not even the stories up until that point survied. Frankly we are dealing with such large amounts of time that it's difficult to make anything definitive. Still you make some strong points and if the ganondorf reemergence and the end of the time line thing get cleared up I might be more on bord. I personally think that we have at this point seen three differing individual ganondorfs rise to be demon kings at this point. OTT, the latest four swords, and now tears of the kingdom. Incase it wasn't clear to anyone else reading this is lost. Four sword is practically confirmed to be a separate individual from the past ganon's. Also it should be noted that ganons come from ganondorfs and there for there has to be a ganondorf that proceeds them and there for there has to be an event that cause the shift and if that isn't address correctly can cause time travial issues. Also the real world reason being game play comes first story second could mean they did it because it made a grate game but not a great story if that makes any sense.

    It’s simple imposible for this to be true, firstly it has no sense how totk and botw hyrules are geographically the same, it’s imposible that the land has changed through the millenniums just to take the same form like one million years laters; plus the whole thing about how the rito existed during skyward sword. But spetially, if we assume Gerudos existed before the foundation of Hyrule which is super strange but it could hapen, how is it possible that Ganondorf carries the demise’s curse BEFORE demise sets the curse on the blood of the princess and the soul of the hero?, but even disregarding those details, it has no sense how the literal Ganons seal exists underground and absolutely no one has discovered throughout all the franchise, the same with the secret stones, it’s imposible that the temples in which they were sealed have stayed unaffected by time, the wind temple is straigh up wood, wood can’t last more than 10 years, now imagine one million years or so, not to mention that there is literally no evidence of the ancient presence of the zonai in any prebotw zelda. Totk has to happen after Spirit Tracks/four swords adventure/Zelda 2, there is no other way.

      @@Banuune Denial? The only denial is of the phillips games. I think you guys look waaaay too into easter eggs and references because by your own theory how the heck are all those outfits and Zelda's speech meant to add up without the "dragon break" hypothesis?
      The fact of the matter is, you CANNOT use a game bible constructed by multiple people over multiple decades who did not deeply consider continuity, or if they did, failed to relay that to the script writers, and come out with a game that neatly ties it all together. In order to create a cohesive overarching narrative you have to begin with the end in mind, you cannot wing it.
      That means that if you are correct (which I think you might be) skyward sword introduced a clean break from the previous timelines that allows the zelda team to start fresh to build a more cohesive lore. The irony is that with all the lorecrafters angry about ss botw and totk "destroying" the lore they dont seem to notice that fujibayashi seems intent on actually giving them what they want, they just need to give him time to cook it up.

    My problem with this theory is that, at some point between the ancient past & TotK, Ganondorf reincarnated at least once: Calamity Ganon. How can he do that if he was sealed? Or are you implying that Demise's original form was Ganandorf?
    Yeah, time travel sucks, but not for the reasons you mentioned. It's a terrible literary device because it fųcks with causality, the very basis of storytelling. With time travel, you can have effect before cause, eliminating a character's agency. For instance, we can't go back in time & unalive a tiny moustached dictator because to do so will eliminate the reason to go back & do the deed. We'd be stuck in a double causal time-loop of going back & not going back until chaos theory gives us an unintended stable loop.

      Ganondorf from oot HAS to be the last one, as "the last Ganondorf" was killed by "the soul of the hero welding the master sword". Rauru did not have the master sword. So there must be one after the one in totk. And having a seal does not mean you can't come back. It's just harder.

    I love this theory and it does help explain a lot of TotK/BotW story questions (like Urbosa saying Calamity Ganon once "took the form" of a Gerudo rather than just *being* a Gerudo in TotK). But I think the strongest evidence against it is Ocarina of Time's events: The adult timeline has Ganondorf destroy Hyrule Castle entirely and create his own castle nearby. It's well established that Hyrule Castle needs to remain standing to protect Ganondorf's seal so it stays undisturbed, so this placement would have a plot hole left by OoT.

  • @ShinAkuma204

    TOTK and BOTW timeline only really work if they are placed at the end of all other Zeldas. So the BOTW Hyrule is a new Hyrule distinct ftom all other Hyrules. This is the last Ganon reincarnation

    It's not an unreasonable placement, it's just that nothing you say in the video demonstrates why ToK's past should happen in the middle of SS, as opposed to say, soon after it. It's not unreasonable that the names "Link" "Zelda" and "Master Sword" are not remembered as legendary after SS because most humans are clueless about the events of SS as they are happening. Ganondorf also doesn't exist yet.
    Why is it better to put the Zonai and ToK Ganondorf in the middle of SS (while Demise is still alive but sealed, mind you) than to just treat ToK as the actual, one-and-only founding of Hyrule?
