I just started my very first garden, so my goal is just to keep it alive at this point! I'm excited to see how it goes.
How exciting! I wish you the best of luck in your first year! 💗
Love that chicken's mullet!
I hatched all 4 of my girls from eggs and she was the first to get feathers so I named her Icarus hehe
My mum's friend's kids call her "the chicken with the hair-do" XD
Great that you have this New Years resolution on track can only be good.
You’ve gave me the idea now to try to sprout the buckwheat seeds from the kitchen
Make sure you source the buckwheat from a sprouting supplier selling it for growing microgreens. The stuff in regular food shops has been hulled or roasted or both and won't work!
@@Rumade had a feeling this could be the case.Thanx for preventing a gardening misadventure !
This is my first year with a real garden plan! My goals for this year are to plant native trees/shrubs, get my beds established and hopefully be able to get enough of cucumbers and tomatoes to do some hot water canning. It’s still cold here in Ontario, Canada so I’m just dreaming still (and doing a bit of pruning)
These sound like great goals! Which trees are you considering? Last year I did cucumbers for the first time and grew a wonderful Japanese cultivar that made long skinny fruits. This year I'm going for a pickling variety. 🥒
1:29 That was great, as was 2:26
The kimchi reveal 😎
@@Rumade wish I knew how to make that kimchi. That is the future of mankind!
I hope u get through in the chicken feed. I plan to grow loads of quinoa, amaranth and corn. Since grains are hard to comeby, and we enjoy brad in the Netherlands. I will also be growing loads of potatoes. Brought in loads of compost. So my goal is to use all and every part of my plot.
I'm really worried about the feed situation as the supplier I get our bags of chicken feed from is closing. I don't want to pay pet shop prices 😫
@@Rumade i understand that Soo much. We have rabbits, and I am buying their bags at the farmers supply stores. But even hay will be going up. In the summer we will supplement with greens from the allotment. But then, who knows.
@@da1stamericus yes this is the thing. Prices are going up on everything. My dad has pet guinea pigs and buys hay in bales for them as pet shop hay is so expensive. But now this supplier is closing.
With the bird flu pandemic demanding that birds are kept in and not allowed to forage, our feed and bedding costs have been so high. I hope I can find a solution.
Wow I had no idea about bird flu.
This outbreak has been going on for such a long time and cropping up all over the place. There was a big run of it in Eton in February, so I'm not taking any chances. You might have heard in the news this week that no eggs in the UK can be labelled as free range at the moment, as all chickens have now been kept inside for too long.
@@Rumade wow, i had no idea. Really interesting
Hi, I enjoyed your video👋🏿🥰
Thank you! What are your garden goals for the year?
@@Rumade First, I have to get a camera so that I can make videos again. My old camera stopped working the other day😭😭😭😭😭. To answer your question, I just planted flowers and herb seeds and I hope that they survive. So, my goal is to get motivated to declutter and organize my balcony. 🥰👋🏿
@@JENITASBFWELLWISHESGARDENING I'm sorry to hear about your camera. Here's hoping all your seeds sprout and your balcony blooms 🌻
Wait wait, go back a second. The toads are good? I ask that because I have two that say hello each morning. They must be over a kilo each. Last year I used the water they swim in for the tomato plants. I've no clue whether I'm doing right or wrong. (If they live in the water...it can't be bad can it? Loch Ness comes to mind).
Over a kilo each???? Wowser! Toads and frogs are usually a gardener's friend as they eat slugs and flies. But I have no idea if that applies to giant ones. However, amphibian numbers have dropped massively worldwide so over the past 20 years, so please cherish your large friends. 🙏
Hello @@Rumade , I'll record them serenading for you. They are happy here by the sound of it. tHanks for the insight.

Thanks ^__^ I'm really excited to see how your allotment is going to change and grow!
@@Rumade me too. Haha
