I didn't notice any particular gender with these, but then I'm an asexual woman who some assume that I'm lesbian just because I don't look feminine enough to them. I wear men's clothes because they fit better and they have real pockets. I'm tall and not curvy. Women's clothing don't have sleeves or pant lengths long enough for me most of the time.

TV Y7 is for kids ages 7 and up. A lot of times ratings also come with other letters that say why the rating was made. Anything from language to violence to use of substances. ESRB video game ratings work the same way. The implication that these people think two characters of the same sex holding hands is unsuitable for ages 7+ is honestly wild. What about being LGBT+ makes something more inappropriate than being straight? The only explanation I ever got other than the vague "I dunno how to explain gay stuff to my kids without explaining sex" which is just absurd, was a completely deranged explanation from a Christian fundamentalist who explained that LGBT+ couples are incapable of real love and therefore showing queer couples was showing sinful, sexual lust whereas showing the same things for straight couples would just be showing love. Which... is completely nonsensical and unhinged and derogatory and dehumanizing and I can't believe someone out there thinks like that.

I know raising interest rate is pose to help slow thing down - but I do not get it. Why - rent goes up even the cost of milk - yep every thing goes up - but not pay for the mild to low income. So people lose the roof over their heads - the food on the tables plus their jobs. Their jobs - well if people have less money - they go out less and spend less at place like the cafes - movies - holiday and so on. These place loss customers- small businesses close door - many will need government help to just get some food. I watched that part a couple of times and I still can't see why anyone would be offended by those cartoon characters, much less "horrified".
What am I missing here? Looks like typical Japanese animation with happy characters learning about friendship, like "My Neighbor Totoro". My son loved that movie when he was little.

@@Fruity_Punk That's what I wasn't understanding. In many cartoons, characters are kind of androgynous. I didn't notice any particular gender with these, but then I'm an asexual woman who some assume that I'm lesbian just because I don't look feminine enough to them.
I wear men's clothes because they fit better and they have real pockets. I'm tall and not curvy. Women's clothing don't have sleeves or pant lengths long enough for me most of the time.

in the USA TV-Y7 basically means stable for people ages 7 and up. most countries with access to media have a content rating system and most follow similar guidelines with some slight differences based on culture and beliefs.
TV-Y7 may be also appropriate for children who have acquired the developmental skills needed to distinguish between make-believe and reality.
Usually shows with fantasy/cartoon or comedic violence are rated as such. an example would be the Pokémon series.

TV Y7 is for kids ages 7 and up. A lot of times ratings also come with other letters that say why the rating was made. Anything from language to violence to use of substances. ESRB video game ratings work the same way.
The implication that these people think two characters of the same sex holding hands is unsuitable for ages 7+ is honestly wild. What about being LGBT+ makes something more inappropriate than being straight? The only explanation I ever got other than the vague "I dunno how to explain gay stuff to my kids without explaining sex" which is just absurd, was a completely deranged explanation from a Christian fundamentalist who explained that LGBT+ couples are incapable of real love and therefore showing queer couples was showing sinful, sexual lust whereas showing the same things for straight couples would just be showing love. Which... is completely nonsensical and unhinged and derogatory and dehumanizing and I can't believe someone out there thinks like that.

Literally the easiest thing in the world. Just answer the kids' questions in an honest way that they can understand. Crack open an anatomy textbook or some Google if you need visual aids. It's literally not hard.

The worst part about older generations trashing on younger generations for trans people existing(as if we invented them or something) isn’t the fact their generation used to throw tantrums about black using the front of the bus or a “whites only” fountain, so a lot of irony and hypocrisy. It’s the fact that most older generation transphobes were being transphobic(and probably extremely racist) back when they were teens and young adults and still act like it was millennials and younger who came out with this new concept. Rapinoe is a joke of an athlete who went on strike/protested for equal pay claiming the women's team wasn't paid enough compared to men's teams even after being told that when you tally everything up, including all those benefits they get through work, the women's team were considerably paid better

In American media, television shows have ratings. TV-Y7 is television that is good for youth 7 and up because there's a few things that can scare or confuse children 6 and below. It's a step up from TV-Y.

I know raising interest rate is pose to help slow thing down - but I do not get it. Why - rent goes up even the cost of milk - yep every thing goes up - but not pay for the mild to low income. So people lose the roof over their heads - the food on the tables plus their jobs. Their jobs - well if people have less money - they go out less and spend less at place like the cafes - movies - holiday and so on. These place loss customers- small businesses close door - many will need government help to just get some food.
But it is funny how CEO can get over 8 million a year - while those that keep money coming to the business have less to spend - but even with the fat over payed top levels - the companies still make fat profits.
