- My brother and I went to an indoor flea market and found a bunch of cards. One sweet old lady had a ton of cards including a rare error variation card that you will immediate recognize as it is one of the most famous cards of all time.
Check out all the cards I bought and then stay tuned for my Follow the Flip round 3 cards in the recap.

So I grew up in Los Angeles so yes I'm a Dodger fan and My favorite player was Orel Hershiser... Darryl Strawberry was another one Funny story... my mother and I were struck in traffic heading back home from UCLA. I think I was around 8 years old at the time... anyways I had just been given a gift of some I believe upper deck cards. (Some sort of Dodger team set) Darryl Strawberry was the card that you can see through the plastic. I remember being really excited and waiting to get home before I opened up the rest of them because I didn't want to damage them while in the car when all of a sudden this red Ferrari or Lamborghini or something pulled up right next to us... and Wouldn't your freaking know it Darryl Strawberry was the passenger I tore into that pack so quick and was hanging out the window yelling at him to sign my card... my mother had no idea what I was doing. She just sees me freaking out and hanging out of the window in Los Angeles Rush Hour gridlock traffic. I really don't remember what the controversy was but this was just after it happened or during but he wasn't in the greatest of moods but when he saw me and how excited I was to see him he straight got out of the car came over signed my card gave me a high 5 and well the rest was history.
Its been years since I last thought about that moment still makes me smile. No idea what happened to that card but it doesn't matter because I still remember. ( I also remember how it made the miserably hot drive back home to the valley bearable exciting even)
Thats awesome man! Moments like that are the ones I hope to come my way!
That was cool story mate! Who knew the Straw was such a good bloke.
haha thats awesome! Great stuff!
What an epic story!! I wish I could have seen that.
Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!
I love this channel. Even more, I love how they go nickel and dime vendors at flea markets and then go home and open cases full of high end boxes. Keep up the good work!
Ikr?
Did you really try talking down a Jack Morris RC from $1.00 to fifty cents smh just buy the card
Amen this guy is a cheapskate! Understand trying to make a deal but when u find something like that u pay the buck
I don’t have a clue what that cars is worth but he wanted it so has some value to him, and then trying to haggle over 50 cents left a bad taste in my mouth. Lost a sub here cheap bastard!!
What a Ahole! Lol. What’s 50 more cents!!
Obviously none of you have ever haggled. The purpose of these flea markets is to haggle and I myself consider it quite gratifying when I purchase something for the price I want. You all feel bad for the seller but he doesn't care, he is just happy with some sort of money.
Haggling a buck to 50 cents on a Jack Morris card when you have a garage full of cards is sad. I’d pay the buck. Come on. A haggle is asking 75 for a hundred dollar card.
Today I was looking through my dad's old sports bin and him and I found a reggie jackson signed picture, so that was very cool
“I’m not going to zoom in on the obscenity. I’m going to cover it up.”
Proceeds to zoom in on writing, clearly showing already zoomed in obscenity! LOL 19:00
LOL...I was thinking the same thing,Right in the middle of the screen..F*ck Face
That was a huge duhhh moment... funny
I was thinking the same thing. He covered up the bat on the card but not the paper.
@@derekcastaneda5088 the next video also lol
Wait that woman wanted 20$ for the box with the “special card”, and then when you asked without it she said 20 again🤣
Thanks for sharing the story on the Billy Ripken card. I have one of the regular cards. Never heard about the cut cards.
(looks at '89 rack packs) "I think those have been hanging there since 1989."
Savage!
I love when you guys go on adventures.. Thank you for the videos.. Jason
Hope when you go back to that 1st flea market that 1st vendor you talked to can get to his other cards. Interested to see what he has. I had never heard of the split Ripken cards. Thank you for sharing that info!
I love your videos and the flip idea is awesome. I think I may start my own “follow the flip”. Good luck and I’ll be following you to the end.
Good buys on the Mantle cards. Really cool FF Bill Ripken piece, love the background history on the card. I have never seen the card with a grouping like that. Nice.
"Hey gentlemen- how we doin?" "Need a shotgun or a AK today?" LOL!!!
@@TechyJoeCards at least it looked that way. I would've at least asked how much. Lol
I am saving this video so I can reference the 1st guy when my wife complains I have too much stuff and I am a hoarder
WOW!!! Unbelievable scores on those vintage cards!!! I love getting anything Mantle and have a 1963 in about the same condition of that 1969.
You need to buy that golf cart! You could make it look like a Pirates Bullpen Cart from the 70’s and call it the Jabs Family Card Cart!
iCards good idea and thanks for the sub
I liked that you left the guy's sam's club card included in the box of cards for $22.
I absolutely love the Ripken errors. I have all of them except the cut card. The '69 Mantle is pretty awesome as well. Nice pick ups !
I love your videos, so relaxing. Always calms me down before bed
"Need an shotgun or an AK today?" Lol
That's super interesting about the Billy Ripken card! Thank you for that!
I used to work at a flea market and this video reminds me of how much fun they are.
Cool finds!! I really like that first antique shop you visited, she had tons of baseball stuff in there.
Wow amazing pickups I love the Mickey mantle card you got and the billy Ripken card was cool I didn’t know about the slit cards cool man
Cool little history with the Billy Ripken FF card! Never seen that saw version
Erik Fowler it's called a Saw version
Always enjoy your videos! Wish we had flea markets like that in Hawaii. Keep up the great videos!
I love those error card, I always look for the oddball, misscut, and checklist cards.
I live close to Detroit and everyone loves the Jack Morris RC.. nice finds!
His 1978 Burger King Topps card is a good one to get if you can find it. It's a regional issue which makes it a scarce find.
Thanks for sharing...I don't think I'd have the patience to wade through all the junk!
I wish that we had card shops here.. awesome.
You have the Best shops around you. I need to move. Love the Follow-the Flip!
Hands down my favorite type of videos you do
When I see your brother with glasses in one of your videos, I always think "the jabs brothers are undercover again"! That means we will have a nice the past is alive video soon!
The story that goes with the Ripken is really cool
That Billy Ripken errors has so many different variations.
I didn’t know about the face saw one though! Cool!
Best of luck on all of your upcoming appointments. Always stay positive and strong boss.
Totally awesome pickup's that Ripken card is sick wow great buy you don't find those everyday but this was your day
Interesting facts about the Bill Ripken card.
Oh man, these cards all hit home with me. My late grandfather bought me a Ted Williams out of that 59 Fleer Set and my dad had 2 of the 69 Mantles, the White letter variation. So it’s cool to see you got these. Also, never heard of that Ripken slit variation, wicked cool Erik
Nice haul! Let's get the flip rolling!
The 63 batting leaders was cool too
The literature with the card looked like a dinner menu
Fantastic hunt for cards, and nice buys!!
Ripken family gathering - one of Billy's kids - Uncle Cal what are you famous for - "Oh I'm a baseball legend, HOFer, 2600+ straight games, yada yada yada". Wow - Dad what are you famous for - "hmmm I had a card published with a bad word on it - lol
Gary S .....True story
That's not really the right answer though ,if he is famous at all it's because hes in the ripken family
That flea market has a fairly decent outdoor setup on Sundays in the summer.
Also that lady has been saying she's done selling for years now lol. Everytime I'm there she always says everything is on sale this weekend!
I’ve seen the slit Bill Ripken error variations on eBay before but never broke down and bought any. After hearing why they have the slit and how they came into circulation, I have to get my hands on one now! Great vid and glad you picked up the ‘69 Mantle this time!
Just sub’d up! Great watching and listening to you and learning how to buy “cards” I collect football , just started collecting my fav players Bo Jackson, Zeke, Dak and Cooper! Dallas fan, NY Yankees fan too lol... all good keep on doing great work! Aloha from Hawaii-Yong Wilson
I really need to get that Billy Ripken F-face card!
Never knew about the slit card, very cool
Great story behind that card, nice find!
I've never heard of the split card before,I new about the FF and blacked out but not that... interesting...u are very knowledgeable and it's fun to listen to you, don't listen to people that talk bad about you, they are jealous of the time, effort and hustle that goes into what you love to do,I'm jealous also but I would love to know as much about the cards as you and be able to go out and find these awesome cards, thanks Jabsy....
"There's even a few hockey cards"
Holy hell you can hear him shrug as he pulls a Lafleur, Bossy, Shutt leaders card out.
The perfect card for one of my team collections.
I know right!
Nice pickups. As for the autographs, that could be Mark Johnson, the hockey player. He played in the NHL, but was a member of the 1980 US Olympic team, so that fits into the era of the other cards.
a tidbit on the ripkin card.. originally it was called the SAW error card back in 1989 and early 90's..named that because it looked a table saw cut
Loved the Billy Ripkin card! Mickey Mantle rookie, here we come!
Dude nice find on the Riken card, I have a couple of the error cards. I wish I had that one lol.
The Jack Morris RC for a buck was a tremendous steal at that price. The condition looks Near Mint. Thank you for sharing the back story of the Billy Ripken "Rick Face" error and how Fleer used a saw blade to cut then subsequently destroy the cards. I love these vids of you and your brother visiting card shops, flea markets and other shops. You never know what you'll find.
Nice video Eric. I wish I had your luck at finding good deals.
That's a awesome steal on the bill ripkin error card. And you get the literature to explain.
Who else wishes they had the means to get deeper into this hobby?
That card is extremely cool
Curious what a grading service would do with that Ripken rarity.
Thats a great question, they cant give it a high grade.
And can they really authenticate the cut??? I can surely cut that myself! I guess they can evaluate the age of the cut.
So funny you bought that card!....Just a couple days ago I was going through my old comic books and the one issue of the Simpsons comic book from 1994 has a baseball card inserted inside. It is a spoof card of this one. It's a Willy Dipkin card and it says Fish Face on the bat knob. Lol They go for about 20$
I turned my first FTF card into 4 Barry Bonds '87 Topps rookies. It's hard trying to find something that's guaranteed to sell for a profit. It's a fun challenge to be a part of, I just have a feeling my progress will be slow-going. Good luck with yours!!
Great video as always!
LOVE THE FLEA MARKET VIDS!
This is a great video and classic jabs!!!
Thanks for covering that Billy Ripkin bat knob with your thumb. I don't know what would happen if we saw that bad word.
You might ripken your undershorts.
Woohoo. Keeping the #FTF going!! nice!! half of my round 3 is in. still waiting for the other half!
Some serious patience while hunting the elusive baseball card, lol!
What's the time stamp on the error variation exchange?
Cool vid! Sweet score on the mantle!
Your so lucky in your finds. I have nothing like that around me.
Cool history lesson on the Billy Ripken!
Nice little snow down there.
Wow ur so lucky to find the mickey mantle cards and Ted William's card along with that awesome billy Ripken error card, I hope one day to find some gems like those btw ur new FTF card is beautiful, thanks for the video Jabs 😎🇺🇸
I wish I could afford the Mantle card. love your vids.
Had no idea Rick Vaughn worked for the Orioles 19:09 ... Was that before or after he pitched for Cleveland?
Some of those cards were in great condition considering how old they were
Great choices for the FTF. Should have got that Bob Gibson too when you got the Mantle!
I find it hilarious on the Ripken error card you are so worried about blocking out the curse word but on the middle Ripken on the paper it’s clearly visible. Great job on hiding it. Lol
Very cool market!!
PISTOL PAT HI ERIC THAT 70s COLLECTION WAS VERY GOOD AND ERROR OF BILLY RIPKEN AND THE STORY WITH IS UNBELIEVABLE ERIC. FINDING MANTLE 69 CARD OF HIS LAST WAS TOTALLY AWESOME ERIC. THOSE FLEA ANTIQUE PLACES YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND GREAT VIDEO ERIC AND YOUR PASSION FOR BASEBALL IS PRICELESS. PISTOL PAT
Cool video love the billy cut card
How many comic books do you come across in your area at these places?
Great pick up Jabs!
Awesome idea on follow the flip, should get well over $100 on this round...well done!
Hey I have a question what is a reliable website to buy baseball cards off of for not too much for example a Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card bc I’m trying to buy my dad a birthday gift but I have a tight budget to go off of if anyone can help I really appreciate it
You can get a Fleer PSA graded 8 for under $15 on ebay.
“Need a shotgun or an ak today”😂😂😂😂😂
I just met jack morris last weekend at Toronto blue jays winterfest. Very nice man. He was joking about my long hair and saying I look like a snow boarder. Since I'm only 17 i was not alive when he played but still really cool.
another great hunt. If that one lady at the flea market is really retiring this year, you may be able to get a steal if you buy it all
Nice 89 Topps set pickup, I just bought one the other day for $3
I wish I had more Flea Markets around me in Northern Iowa
I just looked at your eBay. Holy cow you're gonna make out well with those three auctions
Nice couple of cards for your follow the flip.
I saw on the news that Acuna will be card number 1 in the 2019 Topps series
I am hoping to go get some on Friday when my disability comes in
no I wont get disability until the 1st
why is that?
Forbidden Bridge awesome, remember the Reggie bars? The 1970's Reggie Jackson candy bars...i found at Renninger's flea market an unopened case of 70's Reggie bars
5 for the billy ripkin memorabilia good stuff
I have heard of the slit card but never saw one, can't believe you got it so cheap
Funny he won’t show the card with the F word but shows it plan as day with the pamphlet that talks about the card
Still love this guy glad I found him on Facebook
