when I was a kid I found a box of 50s cards at a flea market in 70s , the guy who owned it was a biker that found them in his garage when he bought the house , he wanted 10 bucks for about 500 cards considering i was about 10 i only had 3 bucks so i bought a handful which was about 50 cards , I got a 56 ernie banks, 59 Maris, 59 Frank Robinson, 58 bart Starr, 53 satchel paige , every card was a star but the best was a 59 mantle and a 59 Berra, I wish everyday since I had 7 more dollars for the other 450 cards. that was my best card find
dude....for $40 I would have looked at my girl and been like "Listen bitch...Go to the ATM and get $40..." I would not of let anyone else touch those cards till she got back.
Simon Worley thanks! They're semi-rigid card sleeves, the brand is Ultra-Pro. I use them mainly for cards that are being sent in for grading, as these are what Beckett prefers
6:26 Ah! I know these guys! Roger Maris - Norm Cash - Mickey Mantle - Al Kaline. Thanks for posting! Nice find. I found a shoebox of old football cards (and Pokemon, and Star Wars) from back in the 80's. Nothing amazing, but I did find some Houston Oilers, and since they don't exist anymore, I got excited. I definitely like finding baseball cards more, but this just blew me out of the water.
Great video. Oh how I wish you went to an ATM and sprinted back and bought all of them. I would love to see all of the others in that stack. Nonetheless, great score. This rarely happens anymore.
I don't generally make videos about baseball, this happening (obviously) was a rare occurrence. Also- I knew who Lou Gehrig was. What are you talking about?
Alternative Guide oh it was more because you were talking about how you thought he played in the 40's. I love your content man, sorry the comment came off as kind of offensive :/ my bad bro
Great video. I loved it!! Amazing cards at a steal of a deal. But dang dude you had a chance to pick up an old school Warren Spahn!!. Gah that's one of my boys! Love my Braves!. Stellar nonetheless.
I bought a lot of baseball cards that weren't in the greatest form but to have a piece of history is a nice feel. I got a 61 Clemente for $10. Corners are good but it has a slight crease. I got a 72 Frank Robinson that has a little wear and tear on the corners for $5. I spend a $100 on almost the whole 1976 tops set with a lot of star and hall of fame players. I love a good grade 8 or 9 card but if I can get a sweet deal on players like Mickey mantle, Yogi Berra, Roger Maris, Hank Aaron, Willie May's.etc as a grade 4 or 5, I'll take it. I love to collect baseball cards and will continue to buy them. Nice find. Those are classic cards even if they aren't in the best shape
Lou Gehrig played for the New York Yankees from 1925-1939 and played in 2,130 consecutive games. He replaced Wally Pipp at first base and held the job until his retirement in 1939. The picture of Ted Williams with Ted Kluelski from the Cincinnati Reds was taken at the 1950 All Star Game in Chicago's Commisky Park. Warren Spahn won 363 games for the Boston/Milwaukee Braves and won 23 games in 1963 at the age of 42. His card is valuable. The card showing Mantle, Maris, Cash and Kline was taken in Detroit at Briggs Stadium in 1961. Ted Williams was the greatest hitter in baseball history. He batted .406 in 1941 and won two triple crowns in 1942 and 1947. SMF
Steven- thanks for the info! Really love hearing about the history behind these cards, regardless of their condition/value. Hope you enjoyed the video!
WHAT...??? Wasn't he on the Lakers Basketball team ??? - WHO GOT THIER FACTS WRONG, NOW...??? That "letdown", that people started calling the "New Michael Jordan", until his first 3 seasons, & proved, he not even in the same universe...!!! Then Coach Phil Jackson, confirmed it !!!
Not at All - Definitely made by an Amateur, without question"...!!! I guess that the point of not showing ur face, was to not reveal "THE FOOL"...??? (Why else, then...???)
This is exactly how i once found a cigar box with 1952 53 54 66 and 67 Topps Bowman cards. Most in mint to good...many were with rubber band creases but for the percentage of 25.00 for the box the cards i found gave me back a sum of 1,000.00.You can find deals without spending thousands of dollars and these are deals.
Ted Kluszewski was a feared home run hitter for about a half dozen seasons (no where near Ted Williams' level though). Although he hit 35, 40, 49 and 47 Homers in a season (Williams' high was 43). Notice his sleeveless jersey, I think he was one of the first to wear 'em like that. Cool find, I'd be happy with that. That Clemente is nice even though of the rounded corners and the creases, hurts the value tons, but I'd still price it in the low/mid double digit range.
Alternative Guide Heh, you mean Kluszewski, no problem ! Eh, I'd still price that Clemente a bit higher, closer to the $100 range, hell i'd buy it for around $75-$80. My cards hold more of a sentimental value to me although I don't mind the "what's it worth" part either. My earliest single Clemente card is from 1969 although i have a League Leaders from '68. Later!
That's a really cool find. Can't believe you didn't get them all. Just FYI, you value expectations are really inflated. Most of those cards are worth more like $30-50. For $2 each that's amazing, but not the $100-150 you are thinking.
They're semi-rigid card sleeves. I don't usually use them, but I was planning on having these cards graded- and they need to be sent in semi-rigid sleeves
OK, here's what most fractionally intelligent Earthlings would do--tell the lady here's $10 to hold the whole stack, we're going to the ATM, be right back. You walked away from possibly thousands of dollars here !!
+Luis Donado not purposely. Me and my girlfriend were walking around our neighborhood and just stumbled upon it randomly. I never carry cash so it was lucky that I even had the $10!
Let's put it this way ... other than the Fox, you'd have to pay at least $10 to buy any of those in that condition. So, you got a steal if you're down to own some really beautiful cards, even if they're really not valuable due to condition. All collectors are different, and I'm at a point where I really don't care about value. I love finding vintage cards to build personal projects out -- and I'm cool to do it on the cheap with some cards that have seen better days. Some vintage cards are gorgeous -- like art, as far as I'm concerned -- even with rounded corners or a crease.
It's quite possible that all of them still exist just two blocks from me.I threw them away in an open field in 1965,which soon had a housing project built on that site.A century from now when the project is demolished, some of the 7,000 or so cards may emerge.
Cards can book for $1000, everything is about condition...you'd be lucky if those came back from PSA with anything higher than a 2 on them....$15-$30 on each....
I would have said “can u please hold all the cards” as I go get the $40 from either some friends or ur parents. The cards are nice finds but they look about a 4 grade at best. Nice though.
I'm not into collection cards anymore but you should get all of these graded. You should have come back for them all. Damn 40 bucks for a 1500 dallors worth of cards. You should have said I come back with more money. If that was me I flip em for 1000 bucks. One hell of a profit I say
Pretty cool...several years back I bought over 10 thousand cards for only 45 dollars from a pist off white girl who donated them to a salvation army, it was her boyfriend collection because he cheated on her before there wedding day...her girlfriend didn't help either with her voice in her ear...it had cards from the 50...60...70...80...90 from all sports from...Football...Basketball n Looney Tunes n puzzles from the 1930 to 1950 baseball players that I still haven't found yet on google...Michael Jordon Cards alone was worth big money by themselves...n maybe 24 boxes of 36 pack card each from football to baseball that was still factory sealed from the 80-90 era...whom ever collection this was, it was time consuming n very neat because most card were in protectors n some counted by 5 or more the same cards. I never even knew soccer n hocky card have value...but I'm not a sport person...I collect comic books n I have hundred from the 1960 n up.
Alternative Guide ok np I was just wondering. Turns out Ted klusewski is my great uncle. I know that may be hard to believe. I was just wondering but that's an awesome find congrats man
You'll be lucky to get 25% of Beckett value from a baseball card dealer. the Dodgers were robbed as Roberto Clemente was an outfielder for their Montreal AAA club and couldn't hide him from the league.
Are you quoting mint prices because those are deftly not mint, Not trying to hate on you and good job too bad u didn't have the 40 bucks but good thinking on getting what you did
Alternative Guide people can laugh all they want if you can build a hundred bucks in you AdSense based on this vid you can get yourself an PSA 9 88 Jordan. 😂. happy hunting.
Youll see that in my estate find video how I mention the Pete Rose 1965 I got was "worth" about $50 in the condition it was in. Psa 6 or 7 it looked. Even though I don't collect cards for thier worth, I'm always gonna quote what it may SELL for IF I ever had no choice but to sell my beloved finds.
Some of what I was saying didn't make sense sorry but needless to say I dnt have those any more. And it's been about 30 years and I still think about it from time to time thinking that ther was a chance that may b a honus Wagner could have been in that bunch. It was an amazing find. I could nt. Have been collecting for Mayb. A month. At that time and I just couldn't believe they were so many old card as just laying there..
On the Bob celmente on ebay there's a card graded at vg 4 threw psa going for 54.00 dollars so yes condition is everything and I never heard of an estate sale selling valuables card for 10 dollars I think you found them or something and did everybody notice that all the cards have creases and there all 100 dollars damn idk sounds fishy oh well.
Lol "some guy named Warren Spann, Warren Spahn, i dont know", thats like a basketball fan saying "some guy named Bill Russell"
when I was a kid I found a box of 50s cards at a flea market in 70s , the guy who owned it was a biker that found them in his garage when he bought the house , he wanted 10 bucks for about 500 cards considering i was about 10 i only had 3 bucks so i bought a handful which was about 50 cards , I got a 56 ernie banks, 59 Maris, 59 Frank Robinson, 58 bart Starr, 53 satchel paige , every card was a star but the best was a 59 mantle and a 59 Berra, I wish everyday since I had 7 more dollars for the other 450 cards. that was my best card find
seller was a savage. 500/10=50, so 3 dollars should have got you 150 cards
Holy crap!
You got some good vintage cards to enjoy and display that some kid will buy at your estate sale...
Great find!- I love finding stuff like that at garage n estate sales
Pretty decent cards , thanks for posting.
dude....for $40 I would have looked at my girl and been like "Listen bitch...Go to the ATM and get $40..." I would not of let anyone else touch those cards till she got back.
Mike E lmao
Mike E lmao dead on!!!
When you round four corners on a card that makes it worthless these cards are cool finds but not worth a damn
I would of did the same thing,
yah done these cards are 50 years old of course they will have rounded corners they are still valuable
Warren Spahn's quote about Casey Stengel is a classic:"I knew him BEFORE and AFTER he was a genius."
Wat an awesome find!! GOOD FOR YOU!!
Wow! Nicely done...great pickups! For ten bucks that is a steal!
+SilverJackify thanks -I was stoked!
Oh, how I wish you had $40 on you that day! I'd love to see what else was in that stack. Thanks for sharing.
+Daily Useless Sports Trivia - DUST Thanks! Was definitely a cool find

Great Find. Congratulations.. :)
Nice. What make top loaders are you using? Love the curved corners.
Simon Worley thanks! They're semi-rigid card sleeves, the brand is Ultra-Pro. I use them mainly for cards that are being sent in for grading, as these are what Beckett prefers
nice cards, sweet deal.
Dude that's super super cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6:26 Ah! I know these guys!
Roger Maris - Norm Cash - Mickey Mantle - Al Kaline. Thanks for posting! Nice find. I found a shoebox of old football cards (and Pokemon, and Star Wars) from back in the 80's. very cool find! I hope it inspires you to be a collector!
Great deal, great cards, man.Always nice to get cards from the '50s & '60s.Even you don't know who the players are.
Reggie Holder totally agree- and thank you!
You dont deserve to make videos about baseball if you dont know who Lou Gehrig is.
Fight The Clock all good man, people love to lecture me in these comments so I've gotten to a point where I'm pretty easily distressed haha.

Yw...i kno it was bro ... m.facebook.com/thomasparks84843/
I wonder if it was Bob on the Roberto Clemente card because it was shortened to fit it on there. Or did it get americanized?
Very curious where you came up with these prices LOL
I bought a lot of baseball cards that weren't in the greatest form but to have a piece of history is a nice feel. I got a 61 Clemente for $10. Corners are good but it has a slight crease. Cool man. Glad you had some cash on you. Should’ve bought them all. Hit that ATM next time!
good find
Thanks man!

Steven Fanale The best batter in history was Kobe Bryant, get your facts straight.

Also how much did you spend for the 5 cards again? I didn't hear you the first 653 times you said it

Book value is out the window unless it's in NM-MT condition. All those cards conditions well below that, still at $10 a great deal.
Congratulations..awesome find is right. Btw I have the same Kluszewski/Williams card.. yours is in alot better condition
Thanks! Great card
Sweetness!
Cool finds even in rougher condition still worth the ten dollars.
Karen Schreurs thanks Karen! I agree

He had altered his shirt (sleeveless) because his arms wouldn't fit in the sleeves. His biceps were huge!
@@addictedtodiecast5170 Yeah, he had natural roid arms.
Screw the haters man, awesome cards man great video
jamisons cardboard thank you!!
Rodger Maris, Mickey Mantle, and Al Kaline
That's a really cool find. Can't believe you didn't get them all. Just FYI, you value expectations are really inflated. Most of those cards are worth more like $30-50. For $2 each that's amazing, but not the $100-150 you are thinking.

Semi-rigid cases

They're semi-rigid card sleeves. I don't usually use them, but I was planning on having these cards graded- and they need to be sent in semi-rigid sleeves
nice find
Joe Smith thanks joe!
good for you
Ted Williams hung out with the unabomber? Omg who knew..
You should know Clemente just by his face
How much would my 59 Rodger Maris card be worth it has rounded edges and a corner is missing
Maybe 10 bucks
Wow...I didn’t know KEVIN BACON collected old baseball cards
OK, here's what most fractionally intelligent Earthlings would do--tell the lady here's $10 to hold the whole stack, we're going to the ATM, be right back.
You walked away from possibly thousands of dollars here !!
dan mutchler that’s exactly what I would have done. A little common sense goes a long way.
Al kaline is a hall of famer and norm cash is in the hall I think
Warren SPAN /SPAHN or something like that....🤣
Glad you made this video 🖓
U got a good score
$150? Not in that condition my friend.
Carmen Finore still never bad to get a mantle
You made out like a bandit despite the condition awesome finds man !!!
Norma Rivera agreed!! Thanks
al kaline went from high school to the majors.
Were you signaling for a curve ball @0:48
You went to an estate sale with a $10 bill? hmm
+Luis Donado not purposely. Me and my girlfriend were walking around our neighborhood and just stumbled upon it randomly. I never carry cash so it was lucky that I even had the $10!
FIRST THING CAME TO MY MIND & the fact he hid his face... Sketchy.
+Alternative Guide You could have easily rand and grabbed 30$ then got all of the cards. Seems odd but good for you.
None of my videos show my face, nice try.
😴😴😴😴😴

"So I asked the lady, what can I get for ten dollars?" "Any ting you want" "Anything?" ... "Any ting"
*wink wink nudge nudge*
No man it’s love you long time rookie
I had ALL of those cards.
Tom Dockery what happened to them? Sell them at an estate sale? =)
It's quite possible that all of them still exist just two blocks from me.I threw them away in an open field in 1965,which soon had a housing project built on that site.A century from now when the project is demolished, some of the 7,000 or so cards may emerge.
Warren Spahn is in the hall of fame
Ballscratch at 0:51
I wonder how much he spent on these? I must have missed that part. All 48 times.
How were you not able to go round up $30 and come back?
PSA would grade those cards 4 or 5.
I collect for the love of the hobby, not the love of the value. I've never been disappointed with anything I collected. Im not rich, but Im happy
Is it possible to know less about baseball history than this guy?
TheSoundOutside no
Kaliiiiine lol
How much do you want for the Mickey mantle
Message me with an offer
You will never get book value.being a collecter myself
rhino benito I know I thought he said he was a basketball collector. You get what Ebay books for lol.
Ted Williams is a good one
Cards can book for $1000, everything is about condition...you'd be lucky if those came back from PSA with anything higher than a 2 on them....$15-$30 on each....
I would have said “can u please hold all the cards” as I go get the $40 from either some friends or ur parents. The cards are nice finds but they look about a 4 grade at best. Nice though.
Probly should of ran to the ATM and got the $40
And takin them all!
Definitely! Wish I did
I'm not into collection cards anymore but you should get all of these graded. You should have come back for them all. Damn 40 bucks for a 1500 dallors worth of cards. You should have said I come back with more money. If that was me I flip em for 1000 bucks. One hell of a profit I say

wayne pope assuming this is all true, what did you do with the cards? Sell them or do you still have them?
did you scratch your balls at :53 lol funny hehehe
How much would u want for the ted Williams and ted kluzewski card if you still have it
Tomboywonder1221 still have it, not really looking to sell though. It's probably not worth a ton... More sentimental value at this point
Alternative Guide ok np I was just wondering. Turns out Ted klusewski is my great uncle. I know that may be hard to believe. I was just wondering but that's an awesome find congrats man
Why no face? And nice ball scratch
Your mouth was watering when you wrote this comment, wasn't it?
I guess that the point of not showing ur face, was to not reveal "THE FOOL"...??? (Why else, then...???)
This fool responds to everything, obviously wears his feelings on his shoulders
You'll be lucky to get 25% of Beckett value from a baseball card dealer. the Dodgers were robbed as Roberto Clemente was an outfielder for their Montreal AAA club and couldn't hide him from the league.
6:20 KAH-LINE 🤣

Those prices your talking about are for Mint Condition Cards not the ones you have
Youll see that in my estate find video how I mention the Pete Rose 1965 I got was "worth" about $50 in the condition it was in. Psa 6 or 7 it looked. Even though I don't collect cards for thier worth, I'm always gonna quote what it may SELL for IF I ever had no choice but to sell my beloved finds.

Too bad it wasn't a shoebox full of about 2,000 vintage sports cards!
I would have told her to hold them And went and got the other $30 there are atms everywhere
