Canucks did fight back and I respect it, but if not for the brutal McLeod giveaway on the Garland goal, Canucks have a rough ending.

Losing Boeser felt like a dagger. Longest tenured player to miss such a big game. Hopefully mikheyevs last game as a Canuck - Lafferty too.
Mikheyev is a minor league player or a two way player at best. Yes he skates like the blazes but he couldn’t score on me back when I was playing goal. In road hockey.
Crowd and team felt lifeless for most of the game. It had an impact on them mentally.
Hard to come back in a game 7 after the other team is up 3-0. Props on making it a close game at the end, but it wasn’t enough.

This is exactly how you win in the Playoffs through and through, everyone has to pitch in both Defensively and Offensively, doesn't matter what number is on your back. This was an absolute nail biter of a game to watch as an Oilers fan in the last 15 minutes of the 3rd. I will be honest though, once we killed that double minor, I got really relaxed and and eveyone in this household was all smiles until that nasty turnover by McLeod in the 3rd. Everyone shifted to the edge of their seats and it remained that way until the last 4 seconds. Can't say enough great things about both teams, had Boeser been in the line up are we singing a different tune? who knows, wish him well and to me, I honestly think that was a game breaker without him in the mix. Hopefully Edmonton can rep Canada well here and not do what they did a couple years ago against Colorado. Let's Go Oilers! great series Canucks!. I really wonder what is going to happen with their Goaltending come next year after that outstanding performance from Silovs. Reminds me of what Oettinger looked like in that series against Calgary.
Once the Canucks had only 2 shots on net at the end of the first, which included a 4 minute double minor I knew it was already over.
Pettersson is brutal. I would seriously consider trading him after his terrible performance in the playoffs.
Petey has become to the Canucks as Marner, come playoff time, also has to the Leafs.
I think he played through something like an injury to his upper body.
@@danielnam9026 Over 13 playoff games from last month to hours ago Petey put up 6 points (1 goal). During the Oilers-Canucks series he put up 3 of those points, having scored in the 4-3 Oilers' OT win of game 2. Mikheyev by contrast put up not even ONE point this postseason, with a:
- pointless streak, in non-preseason play, of 12 games (his most-recent relevant point having come during a 4-1 mid-April home win over the Flames)
- goalless streak of, in non-preseason play, of 26 (last scored in 4-3 March OT loss to Avs at Rogers Arena)

He was great in 2019-20 though. He was also a playoff mvp in the shl. I’m with you he was not good this year but this past tells me he is capable of being much more

I cant remember who did take the penalty when Vancouver had momentum, but i did like Garland game in this serie. I felt that he had best legs through Nashville and Edmonton series and i did like his play a lot. Zadorov was probably best trades of season with Tanev (Dallas) trades.
Trying to force multi goal comebacks with 5 minutes left is not a recipe for success.

On the bright side, IF Edmonton goes all the way (half-likely), they can avenge 2006 and win SCF for the first time since 1990 (that's 34 years). EDM has a great team with an immaculate mentality on the ice during games, and they were overall the stronger team offensively IMHO, even with how Game 3 ended. I do feel heartbroken for Canucks fans (having been taught by one in school)

Believe me the Canucks and Leafs are nothing alike. Keep up the good work brother.
The Canucks were up 3-2 in their May series against the Oilers although in their respective 2019 and 2022 playoff series against the Bruins and Bolts the Leafs also had put up 3-2 leads. Although the ways in which the Leafs lost those 2 series of theirs (both 1st-round ones) may be different than the way in which the Canucks lost their May playoff one, there's no doubt the Canucks blew a 3-2 series lead of their own. TBD will be what changes the Leafs and Canucks make to their rosters.
The Oilers were the best team for every game except 3.
*better, but objectively, can they really be called the better team when they found new and imaginative ways to lose a couple of those games?
As a Habs fan - Go Oilers! - though not sure if they can get by Dallas, they look almost unstoppable this playoffs. Oilers need to play the best hockey all yr to beat this team. Gonna be very difficult.
Canucks lost because Patterson scored like no goals and only Hughes and 3 others where doing anything they needed everyone to produce

John, EDM will probably tank in the WCF yet again & the next champ will probably emerge out of the east this season I believe. Too much talent on both east teams imo.
Rooted for Canucks but knew they were gonna lose after that abysmal game 6 performance. Now I'm backing Edmonton because I want to see a team from Canada bring the Cup back to Canada. I'm not even Canadian. I am American but just want to see History be made. I don't know if Oilers are good enough though. Dallas looks scary good right now and Dallas beat a pretty solid Colorado team.
I'd given, going into this month's Oilers-Canucks playoff series, the Oilers a slight edge. That said, this series would turn out to be too close to call until the Oilers had gone up in game 7 3-0, at which point I'd predicted the Oilers would be more likely to win. I would turn out to be right even if only barely at 3-2 in regulation.
