Honestly, I feel bad for Bellerophon. Things finally started going well for him and hubris struck.
At least he was Medusa’s Horse now of a sudden.
But in Human Form as a Lancer?..Dang,his Sin is always E- Luck.
Agree. Zeus could of atleast punish him to be stuck as a constellation for eternity.

There is a phrase that we use in greek and has it's origins in this myth, "Σήματα λυγρά". It means "Disastrous signs" and correlates with the letter that Bellerophon delivered. Very nice job by the way.😎😎😎

It's Joseph

She wasn't a queen
@@curtisjohnson9910 They were saying "queen" in reference to Bellerophon, not Joseph.
Yea fr was thinking abt that
He was doing so good... And then.. the pride kicked in.
I know right. If only he was content with what he had, he would have continued living his blessed life.
When pride enters your mind there's no other place to go but going down.
Chimera is originally described as 1 head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the tail of a dragon. Overtime it the people changed it to have wings and heads of all those animals, and the tail was of a snake but not the lower half (smooth and flexible with a tip end) its the upper half. If u look at old pictures and statues (souvenirs) of the original, you'll c it had the upper half of the lion and lower of the goat. This bad boy doesn't have 1 single form just the pieces that makes him.
@Marcus Aurelius Sif: I had a Chimera Dungeon and Dragons toy when I was a kid. It was as you describe and made of rubber. (Thanks for the memory. - I also had most of The Clash of The Titans toys including: Calibos, Charon, Pegasus and The Kracken.)
Some said that the wings of chimera looks like a enlarge mosquito wings

Moral of the story..
Live under the Laws of Zeus..
And no matter what happens, who tries to betray you, or the trials of life, you will percever.
But what are these "Laws of Zeus" if Zeus is a Myth or something only of the mind and heart, and not of the material, only an effect on and of the materials?
From Odysseus, to Hercules, to Bellerophon, to JC and his 12, Aurthur and his 12, Osiris and his circle, the gods of the Mahabarata..
Round and Round.

Bellerophon killed Chimera by stabbed it to death is a little bit too... simple.
I mean... It's not bad... fatal strike is a classic way to end a monster but I think I prefer the version of the story where Bellerophon outsmarted the creature by putting a chunk of lead (or bronze... or some kind of metal... depend on the version) on a spear (or a pole ) and rammed it into Chimera's mouth while it tries to breathe fire at him which cause the metal to melt and choke it to death.
Well, I like the smart or cunning kind of protagonist so maybe that just me...
Could have been worse. He could have said killed it to death.
In another version, he shoved some lead into its mouth. It breathed fire, and the lead melted.
Yup, i was expecting that as well, and i was a little bit disappointed
As all the videos of this channel well presented! Well done thought the story is a bit modified in some parts or is another tradition around Bellerophon and Pegasus!
3:30 Wow, would you look at that. He actually denounced a trifling wife and refused to disrespect his host. Makes him a better man than most other Greek figures right there... a shame he wasn't able to tell the king what truly happened.
But then didn't Zeus also misjudge the character of Bellerophon? Kings had time and time and time again sent him unheard from to be on his way, that the King of Olympus should repeat this Mortal imprudence??? Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom, it's no wonder then that she knew better, and did better by the the role of a greater divinity. At the very least, Zeus could have offered council to Bellerophon, or given him a task worthy of riding Pegasus as a lesser divinity of Olympus! This story was left with a worthless ending.
You can stretch your foot towards the stars but don't be detached with the ground. Otherwise it will hurt only you.
Well I also feel bad for Bellorophon. I hope he became humble and find his place among the heroes.
You are definitely on your way to becoming a modern day Bellerophon 😂😂 there are better heroes than Him
but you don't see them claiming that they deservingly should sit among the Olympians, his victories were literally blessed by them...he didn't do any of it on his own....(pfft mortals and their arrogance topped with entitlement)
... and then along came Zeus! He hurled his thunder-wasp!
Great material, man. Thank you so much for sharing it. Could you, please, put the subtitles here? I'm learning English by myself and it would be amazing to study it better.

Wow such a great story
Wasn't the Chimera killed by putting a chunk of lead so when it spews fire it would choke due to the liquid metal?
Different version
Wasn't Bellerophon crippled while slaying chimera?
Very touching, warm, and insightful story!
in antoher more trivial version of the story, it is claimed that Bellerophon went hunting for wild boars with Deliades and Glaucus - his brother stowed away behind a tree to relieve himself (probably number two), his howls of relief resembling a wild boar, so Bellerophon threw his spear into his brother by mistake
This artwork is awesome. Nice.
Feel bad for him, he should atleast be placed among the stars as a constellation to be immortal next to the boar, scorpion, bull constellation chasing him for eternity as punishment . Since he wanted to be immortal.

It’s good to know where Pegasus came from. This whole time I thought Zeus created Pegasus for Hercules. Guess I got confused. This is a sad story.
Right lol Poseidon is Pegasus and Bellerophon dad when all alone I thought Zeus created Pegasus lol
It's kinda funny how both Bellerophon and Perseus actually rode Pegasus; while Heracles, though they did travel together, didn't. Maybe he was too heavy?
Bellephron: Yeah! Life is finally looking up for me and I got me a flying horse!
