exactly, I don't want a blowout max damage due to unfair stats, I want similar stats and similar comparison, this youtuber went the extra mile and I applaud the effort... Also, this makes me choose which set is better for my playstyle.
Yeah and it serves the true purpose of thr video: to see the damage DIFFERENCE. If we want to see max dmg potential using this artif we wouldve looked for a showcase, not artifact comparison. So for artifact comparison this is hpw it should be, perfectly fair

Essentially just use whatever good artifacts you have for xiao because the dmg difference is minimal. Even with 2 glad and 2 shime, it is very good on him. I guess this new artifact set is for the players who really want to maximize his dmg, but farming for a good 4 piece set is a pain tho….
Yeah, you're absolutely right. The only thing I can see that the new set could do is to reduce your Energy problems by investing on ER since you already get excess attack.
Not really worth it to farm over 2pc VV/SR if you don't wanna get railed and creampied by artifact rng
Well, I personally find almost 20k more damage (specially taking in consideration that these builds from this showcase have really low Crit Dmg, with higher crit the difference in damage would be even more significant) fairly good!
But yes, for an increase of around 10% extra damage on a well built Xiao, this is definitely not worth it for people who's still in need of buildin' some other characters.
I'm included on those cases that "want to maximaze his damage", sure, but that's mostly 'cause I have no other character I wanna build atm and I also already have over 10 million Mora saved (and that's after fully upgradin' an Ayato, I was with almost 18kk before), I don't need to farm more resources. So to veteran players, I don't see why not farm it, since is a increase of damage for a character that doesn't have dedicated supports yet.
Mine's already at some respectable 2419 Atk, 85.1/188.4 Crit Rate and Dmg, while also havin' 135.6% ER with his 2-piece Viridescent + 2-piece Shimenawa Set, so I don't really need the upgrade _but, since Xiao is my favorite character, I have nothin' else to spend my Resin on and farming this new set will be at least easier to farm than Gladiator. I find it a reasonable investment.
I can even transfer my 2-piece sets that were his to other characters, would actually be really helpful on buildin' my future Yoimiya, for example, specially 'cause the 2 Shimenawa pieces I have are a Sands and a Circlet... but mostly, now I'll have motivation to even focus more on my Xiao's crit rate and crit damage rolls, instead of relying a lot on Atk% rolls as it had to be with my current set

my Xiao has 74% crit rate, 232% crit damage, were grinding artifacts for 6 months straight ever since I got him in 1.3 and until now for a bit. I don't think it's worthed to change artifacts for 2k damage difference.

My Xiao is 83/197 with 50k x 3 E.skill and 45k-65k burst + Bennet and dragon. I wanna change my artefct but after i saw your comment i think i wont change my artefact 😂
@@aditsyah8773 i have almost the same situation, almost rank 57, but never had anemo supports for xiao, only got jean and sucrose recently and also want to take kadzuha in future and the problem is they all want anemo set and farming new set for xiao may be a decision to give his pieces to them. Also in video crit dmg is almost equal, but in scale having 180-200+ crit dmg can give you a possibility to save bennet for another crew because the new set gives a lot of damage in perspective. The difference per plunge might be not 20-22k, but 50-70k and it is really a lot🤷🏼♀️
Same here! Maining Xiao since 1.3, but instead, it took me 10ish months to have 80/230, I'm not gonna suffer again when 2vv/2glad xiao is already strong enough
It's a 10-20% damage increase depending on your luck on the artifact roll.
yea exactly but honestly the amount of grinding required to get lucky enough for decent pieces like these, its not worth it unless your also grinding for Ayato and to be honest i have Ayato and i dont even want the new set because of the RNG mechanic. basically imo its not worth it but quite a few Genshin CZcamsrs share my sentiment

If you however, are like me who doesn't rly have anyone to build and wants to max ur Xiao to a higher level, sure go farm it, just know that it's gon take long and might not be worth it time if ur Xiao already has cracked substats.
@@yubiyubiw yeah the thing is, those who already have Xiao probably have some cracked gladiator, shimenawa, or viridescent set that probably can go up to 60/200 cv.
20% damage to Xiao's plunge which minimum can deal 20k is just 2k additional damage, which is not worth the hard grind.
exactly 9,45... in other hand raiden c3 increase her dmg in 15% i think that is just way harder to get a 4p set while u can always farma glad on bosses and 2p on the domain

I’ll be honest, I thought that the new set with Xiao a big damage difference. Looking at it now, it didn’t change much so. . . I’m just going to stick with glad and virdescent set for him and farm a new four piece virdescent set for my Kazuha.
Keep in mind that it's a Deathmatch (a weapon with low base attack) and low crit damage. If you have a 5 star weapon on Xiao, I would imagine the difference can become much more meaningful. And still, even in this comparison, the damage difference in one burst is one entire plunge attack. I do think it's a bit meaningful in the long run
You also have to remember the 4 piece only works when you lose health. So the less health you have the stronger it becomes. So it's not actually a good comparison, only at full health.

Unfortunately, Mihoyo is very negligent with Xiao, they always strives for nothing to buff him, and the set made for him has almost no difference from an improvised set. Meanwhile, Itto received a very strong set, and even received support designed to maximize Geo.

Not really, itto set vs 2 piece and 2 piece is only as much better as xiao's one, this set makes a huge difference in xiao's best team double geo double anemo, since he don't get much attack there and will be like 14% more dmg, 14% more dmg is huge, upgrading your talent levels from 8 to 10 is also pretty much this amount.
All the other character's 4 piece vs 2 pieces aren't that big of a difference too, expect something like blizzard.
Xiao true, doesn't have a good support. But that's the only thing he lacks, no need to lie about other things

you say that as if itto is the only one to benefit from the release of husk LMFAO. the set is for albedo, yunjin, and noelle as well. meanwhile xiao’s is Just for him. if anything you should be flattered they gave him an entire set that literally only HE can use.
if you use a high base attack weapon such as calamity and primordial you can should go for 4pc vermilion, if you just use weapon with normal base attack don't go with 4pc vermilion. and also consider the substats that you have.

it surprises me a lot how the 48% extra atk% isn't a huge change from 15% anemo dmg bonus, however i loved to see how xiao's damage is still super good even with "only" 110% crit dmg, definitely a insane main dps, and the only reason why he was "powercrept" is because these annoying enemies with elemental shields on abyss that requires specific elements to break their shields faster, aside of that xiao still remains one of the best dps characters in the game
Now that's what multiplier means.
Big % numbers aren't everything. But good balance will do wonders.
xiao’s aoe is a pretty important thing to consider, especially in spiral abyss, when the enemies are all bunched together, a few thousand difference in damage can really affect your abyss runs. since xiao isnt really st dps, thought i’d point that out.
Wow.. you made nice effort for almost same stat. Btw note one thing that if you use jade spear which has high base atk of 674 you'll benefit more from atk buffs from new set.

If you have 2pc glad/shim and 2pc viridiscent with good substats you don't have to farm for the new set, it's not worth resin except you also farms for the echoes set
And the echoes is an actually good set... idk why hoyo hates xiao so much this is a freaking joke
@@kittenmimi5326 one more thing, every mono element have their own elemental dmg booster support like Sara (electro) and Gorou (geo). Shenhe and Bennett not counted because they're cryo and pyro, Kazuha also can't boost anemo dmg. Anemo only have Jean, Venti, and anemo mc (Jean and Venti need some constellation) to apply anemo shred. Hoyo should make the anemo version of Shenhe who can buff plunge dmg and skill dmg
Diminishing returns if you're just trying to farm for the same exact stats of your good 2 pc sets. The biggest advantage to take away from farming for 4 pc Vermillion is you can go for an ER time piece and still retain all the atk% bonus because of the set effect, so it's a good opportunity to add quality of life changes to your rotations and team set ups so you're not fixated on always having slots taken up by anemo batteries when instead you can just add another dmg dealing support of any element.
If you have raiden, then you dont need no anemo battery

True i spend alot of time grind my ass of to find a good artifact for him, now the new set is released i just dont wanna spend so much time again just for 2k difference and would just rather build other team that helps xiao instead.

Yup. My Xiao is my most invested character with a great crit ratio. So there's no way ill be able to grind for this set. Though it will be a good set for future Xiao mains i think.

i have both ayato and xiao and even though i have pretty decent artifact sets for both of them already before this doamin, I am still farming the new sets cuz 1)they look pretty 2)I like to switch up artifact sets every now and then 3)both their 2p stat are attack, so id say its a pretty safe domain to farm other than the emble/shimenawa domain
True, I have Xiao and Ayato too and it's a win/win in that domain because I could get Xiao artifacts or Ayato artifacts.. Unlike when I'm going in the Zhou domain, I could get a crimson witch, but I always get good lavawalkers which makes me angry >:(
Something to think about is that the base atk of the polearm is fairly low, so the atk boos is limited
If you manage to get the jade spear the base atk goes through the roof
And the atk boost makes an even bigger difference with the sets
So if you have a 5 stats polearm
The new set makes quite the difference.

new artifacts for existing character will always be ~10% of damage increase, those who already have good artifacts with good substats can just ignore the new sets cause it's not worth the time and resin esp for those artifacts that require 4 sets effect

I knew it . For all of you , Fellow Xiao's Mains . It's not recommended to farm this new artifacts since the damage increase from 2pc glad + 2pc shime / 2pc viri + 2pc glad/shime is only around 10% . And when we add those attack buffer like Bennett Burst. noblesse , tenacity , ttds and etc. The damage difference wil only be around 5% due to how Dimishing Return works in this game . A 5% damage increase is not really a good investment unless you :
1) don't have good shime/glad/viri sets already
2) just looking to maximize his damage
Someone said it in an earlier comment, but if you have high base atk weapons (primordial, queller, etc.) you will see more gains from new arti set. Just food for thought.

The way mihoyo making all this artifact are balanced. We should always use what we have instead trying to force the 4 set.

@@sichen3747 So , Regarding a very misunderstood topic of Jenshin , which is Dimishing return , I will try my best to summarise the calculation on Atk
For instance , let's imagine you have :
Base Atk = 1000
Atk% = 0
Flat Atk = 500
Using the formula = 1000 + (1000 * 0) + 500
= 1500
Now let's add 50% Atk into your character
Using the formula = 1000 + (1000*50%) + 500
= 2000
Which means you will have 33.33% increase
But
This time let's have :
Base Atk = 1000
Atk% = 100%
Flat Atk = 500
Using the formula = 1000 + (1000 * 100%) + 500
= 2500
Now let's add 50% Atk like what we did to the previous one
Using the formula = 1000 + (1000*150%) + 500
= 3000
Which means you will have 20% increase
It seems like the increase of numbers are the same , right ? But actually the value of it are decreasing the more you stack it and thus creating a Dimishing return .

Worse than shimenawa. It doesnt work on her double-arrows, because she shoots them faster than 0.2 sec. Only 5 of the 7 arrows will get the bonus.

@@zeberiko In all honesty, it’s better to run Bolide on her if you have a shielder like Zhongli or Diona/Thoma. It has around the same NA bonus with none of the energy issues (also even though it’s bad her burst does add a lot for her damage and helps support other teammates so it shouldn’t be neglected)
You'd better stick to permanent buff rather than gacha dmg for yoimiya. Especially since she doesn't actually need her burst
@@browserjunior4707 Diona's shield can be broken unlike Thoma's refreshing, so with her bolide is unstable. NA bonus difference is small, but shime gives +18% atk which affect both NA and burst (~ +7% dmg). Burst animation takes LARGE amount of time, you know... Anyway, Bolide is still the second best option for Yoi.

If you don't use benny with xiao you can go with this set but if you add Benny and with this artifacts atk buff the results is deminising.

If you take bennie's atk buff and with this set's atk buff together you get so less value compare to without benny and only with this artifact's buff. Too much external buffs diminish the buff of this set. Anyways in the end it's upto you how optimally you play ur character and with Benny or without benny is a flaw or not! I m just giving my opinion after i test myself. Don't just say anything without knowing what is the context behind the comments.

Honestly, after a whole year building the perfect Xiao (Jade Spear came home ❤️), I don't think I wanna build him all over again, I love him as he is now ❤️
Me who has Xiao and has finally completed a decent Gladiator + Viridiscent set and now sees the new artifact is better.
Me: Oh boy!! That's another 8 mos. of grinding for me.
Fortunately even after 3 months of grinding, I do not have a decent glad + viridiscent. Lol😂
bro on regular basis you need 3 months for a character farming (aka using resins only for farming that domain).. Also the damage increase is minimal so yeah so you can go for it or stay with the same set unless you farm that domain for some1 like ayato yoimiya etc

Both builds are good, Vermillion is a little better (10% more damage). I think it will depend on the sub-stats of the artifacts
I'm gonna use Vermilion hereafter coz it's a set dedicated for Xiao and lil bit of damage bonus is good

The difference isnt much bcuz u r using a low base atk weapon on him
If u use a higher base atk weapon the diff will be a bit more as xiao will benefit morr from the new set buff
Yeah I agree with this a lot. I'm using skyward spine on him which has high base atk. And I've seen people comparing the sets with a 5 star weapon and the dmg difference is actually a lot bigger. Considering I also use a 5 star weapon, this domain is worth it for me.

Great video! I will continue farming shime because I am also building Raiden, so both sets are useful. Plus, my Xiao is already fully built with 2 VV 2 shime (78.9% CR, 210.9% CD), so it would take A LOT of resin to get better artifacts.
If I get to a point where most of my characters are fully built, then I might go back and farm this domain.

very quick and detailed way to show the Artifact sets. it really all does depend on which artifacts set have better crits, as the dmg isnt that much of a difference but still is, showing that you can keep old set and save resin.

VH is like PJWS but different proc condition. Considering Xiao's whole kit and sig revolves around increasing his attack as you deal damage, VH would be a great addition to that since he doesn't get anything from his burst hp consumption before. But 2 pc glad/vv is still good.

I joined in 2.1 and got Xiao during the Lantern Rite Festival in January. I currently have him at C2. I took a break for 2 1/2 months since I moved and focused more on school. I'm probably gonna farm for this set since I don't have a good Viridescent & Gladiator/Shimenawa set for Xiao unlike other who farmed for months.

SO this is one of the best comparisons I have ever seen in showing a 1:1 vacuum showcase BUT a tip is to also explain WHY one artifact would be better than the other in non-vacuum environments too. The reason the new artifact set is so good for Xiao is you do not need benny anymore, and if you have a good base ATK polearm (jade) you can ignore ALL atk substat rolls on artifacts and still be out on top in atk, allowing you more room for crit values.
The new artifact set, unfortunately, doesnt give any DMG boosts which anemo does not have a large pool available to them so the 2 pc and 2 pc help alleviate the lack of atk stat with some dmg increase but 15% just is not going to outweigh the 48% atk you get from the new set. Food for thought, LOVE the freeze frame numbers too, just easy to follow.

This is a great comparison with pretty equal stats. I think a lot of people are thinking of the 2k difference wrong. this video was made on very basic stats to show you the difference. If you compare it with great artifacts you will see a noticeable difference. It looks like its a minimum of 10% dmg increase. I'm thinking you will see a minimum of 10% to 20% increase if you get good rolls on artifacts. Great job on showing the difference.

I would say Vermillion has the highest dmg potential compare to 2pc glad and 2pc Vir but farming a 4pc set really takes time and really a pain lmao
