As a kid, I remember my mom actually took a black marker and crossed over some of the text in that Berenstain Bears book because she didn't like the way they were talking about bodies.

Love your commentary on busyness culture. Its something Ive been dwelling on for a number of years now and steadily working it out of my life and mindset.
Totally! There is always pressure to do more more more!!! But then who are we living out lives for?! And all of the pressure can have such a negative impact!
I used to drink protein shakes as a way to try to be healthier. Not only did they taste bad, but they made me gain weight. It turned out they were the ONLY thing making me gain weight. Once I quit drinking protein shakes, I rapidly lost weight even though I was eating terribly because I still had a fast metabolism. Now, I have a fear of protein shakes because of how badly i'm trying to stay slim. If you have any advice regarding this issue, that would be nice.

If you don’t like the taste why drink them? You don’t need a protein shake, just eat another source of protein you enjoy more.
@@Updog89 I kept drinking them thinking they would help me, and they didn't. Although they tasted bad, nothing tastes worse than eggs. Now eggs are the grossest food in the world. My favorite source of protein that also tastes good is salmon.
@@neurodivergentsims49 What were you expecting them to help you with? There’s so many different ways to get protein besides powder and eggs, save your money and use your common sense and stop forcing yourself to eat things you don’t like.
I remember that junk food book from when I was a kid … and how it made me hungry because that candy looked good 😂

If you like Premier protein, you should try the Meijer brand. It’s supposed to be comparable to the premier, but it’s cheaper. A good trick with it is to mix it in your coffee.

As someone who usually only craves coffee in the morning, the Alani protein coffee is a good addition to those coffees! And yeah they’re pretty watery and like blah 😂but it’s good in coffee!
*I specifically put a shot of espresso
Adding a protein shake to coffee is SUCH a great way to get some nourishment in the morning especially if you don't have an appetite!
Fortunately, I've never had a desire to constantly be busy. I've always been a fan of downtime. I'm not a "hustle" person at all. LOL
I like Orgain brand fruit cereal flavored protein shakes. I didn’t think I would like them but tried one of my husbands and went and bought a case for myself that same day!

I loved that Junk Food BB book growing so I was shocked rereading it as an adult. So much judgement around food!

I recently found a children’s book at a little free library near our house that was about a mom who felt she needed to go on a diet and the kids watched her eat nothing but salads and fruit for a week. I was horrified by the book until I got the end when the mom realized she was fine and her kids cheered and told her how much they loved her. 😂🤣 literally just like an 12 page picture book that was probably written in the late 80’s early 90’s. Was a perfect book? No, but for being from that time period this was not a message you received a lot of!

@@ColleenChristensenif I remember correctly it was just called “Mom’s Diet” 😂 very to the point. The picture on the cover was just a mom looking kind of sad sitting next to the bowl of salad.
The fairlife protein shakes are my favorite tasting protein shakes 🫶🏽
they really are the best, they somehow don't have that... "protein shake" taste that so many of them do
