Thanks to this video I was able to replace a fuel pump for a 1995 Dodge Dakota Sport. I unbolted and raised the bed. I had a difficult time reinstalling the overflow plastic elbow. The gas gauge is now bouncing a lot, and I don’t know if the float is out of position. It runs and passed smog. So hell, it’s now for sale. Going, going, gone.
Thank you for the video Rudy, it's helped me quit a bit with the finer parts of my fuel pump removal.y Napa pump will be here in the morning for 140 American. I didn't have my own bed so the brackets required a 1/2 inch drive 14mm deep socket and some Blaster penetrating oil. The wd 40 didn't cut the mustard and the 3/8 drive deep socket was too short! Thank's again and have a super day!
Yo pro tip (I’m not a pro but whatever) don’t break that pressure relief/rollover valve because you’ll have to pull one off a truck at the salvage yard which isn’t bad but just saying they don’t produce that part no more. 🤙🏼
Guess what I broke it. Not even kidding. 3 dudes tried putting the bed on me my friend that didn’t really wanna help and my dad. It was heavy and bad and when we put it on all u hear is a crack
@@Br4vehe4rt What is the job looking like now? I may be going down the same road. Hope all I need is spark plugs. I'll change them after work. Yesterday changed the fuel filter and my truck rode just fine. Today it is running rough again.
Hey brother, nice tutorial, I found the easiest way to change the toro snowblower belt....and posted it on my channel thanks to your video for the idea. I tried to comment on your video, but comments are off. Kindest Regards, and please feel free to critique :) J
BE VERY CAREFUL with the rollover (vent) valve. Difficult to remove, impossible to find a replacement. Use old grommets if possible. I have found the new grommets don’t fit. Supplied pump to tank seal is too thick, use old one.
Does the gas gauge fluctuate when truck in in motion, i.e., coming to a stop or does it have a stop so it will not do that? When I take off it goes back and the opposite when I come t a stop.
Dougas Bailey I would say the safest way would be with a jig saw with a high quality metal cutting blade. Make sure the blade only goes through the metal and not through the tank (use a short blade). Have a fire extinguisher close, do it outside and don’t cut if you smell any gas fumes.

My gauge bounces all over the place. Has since I can remember.
Me podrías ayudar?
Tengo una Dakota 1992 estándar V6 motor 3.9
Necesito saber que ECM le puede quedar de que sea compatible por el modelo.
Will this work for a 1990
John 3:16

What is best way to cut hole in truck bed. To get to pump _ don't want it to blow up?

@@rudijones ok. Or maybe a saw saw
Dougas Bailey yes just want to keep the sparks at a minimum.
Ok thanks
Sorry to bother you.need ur opinion. I turn key and I hear primer pump coming on.. Now I'm thinking crank sensor or smithing? Don't no?
........The part number would have helped tremendously 😞
Que tal me gustaría como se trepar el filtro de gas
My feed line wont stay on and i tightened the fuck out of a hose clamp on it?? Im justing using regular fuel line since that last peice i had broke
Sending units on Dakotas are crap. Bounce all over and will break before pump quits
