  • "How to Run Avalanche at Home" is a series produced by FireStorm, an Avalanche community member. The fifth episode of the series is an end-to-end tutorial on how you can go from a base installation of Ubuntu Linux to a staking node in the comfort of the Avalanche Fuji test network using a graphical API interaction tool.
This is really the best way if you are looking to learn about how the Avalanche software works but you aren't yet very familiar with the command line terminal.

    FireStorm Covers:
    1) How to install node software as fast as possible
    2) How to launch the node in the test network and enable the http interface
    3) How to install postman, configure it and talk to the node easily
    4) How to get test AVAX, create a wallet and stake the AVAX onto the node
    5) Check for your node on an explorer to see it's status and uptime

Another very helpful video! Can you please make a video specifically for the web wallet? I still couldn't wrap my head around how to use the NFT studio or why it's useful at all. Thanks!

Thanks for the informative video - Could you please make a digest video covering how to connect Avalanche Node running on GCP VM via Postman giving related network/firewall configurations in both GCP and Postman.

Hi there! Thank You for Your great videos! Do You have any tutorial how to actually remove already running (and validating) Node from one computer to another? I know that we have to use staker files, but how to exactly do it. Step by step? Thank You!

postman says it automatically uploads ALL data to it's cloudservers... why would i ever use postman to administer an AVAX node after reading that?! "all data in this workspace is automatically backed up on our servers" WHAT

    Great video.
Will the validation threshold be reduced?
I'd like to participate as a validator but buying 2000 Avax is too much IMO.
The issuance schedule is pretty aggressive so I worry for my money if the price dumps when this bull market ends.
    Cheers

The team ran a forum post regarding the minimum staking requirement and the participants had voted to have the threshold reduced. I'm guessing this is on the agenda / roadmap and you'll have to track the updates from the team.
It never hurts to ask this question on the discord chat or forum also.
      Thanks for watching!

put --public-ip={PUBLIC IP OF EC2 INSTANCE} flag while running script if you are trying to run the node from aws or any cloud provider

so how much avax do you need to create a node?

    • @korgond
      @korgond Před 3 lety

You need at least 2000 avax coins to create a node. This is a requirement at the moment but it may change and might be less in the future. They work on it.
On the other hand, in order to delegate (staking) you need at least 25 avax coins.

At the time of this comment in order to get 2000 AVAX we need to invest $23,340. Which is a lot (too much) for some of us that would like to participate validating.

The network can scale to millions of validators, but there's only 1200 as of now.
