So in essence the US State Department is saying that derivative beneficiaries are better off NOT BEING CITIZENS of an E-2 treaty country than to be one of a country that has a “bad” validity period.
It’s bizarre, over complicated, and misses the point of the entire E-2 program - that the investor and their family are MAKING A SUBSTANTIAL PERSONAL INVESTMENT in the USA.

    Hi Mike,
Scenario: E2 Main applicant is a National of country who is exempt from fees (The reciprocity fee, also known as the visa issuance fee) but the derivative’s’ are Nationals of a country where this charge is applicable and significant; will the primary applicants’ exemption be afforded to the derivative’s’ under the mentioned changes to F.A.M. or will the fee schedule remain the same? As in based upon main applicant.
    Thanks

What is consistent about saying that a derivative beneficiary of a non-treaty country is treated better than a derivative beneficiary of a country that is a treaty member?

Hi, my family lives in US on E2 and I'm in UK and we are UK citizens. I would like to apply as a dependent of E2 from Uk. What's the process and which forms I need to fill and apply, how long will it take to get the visa? Will I also apply for the work permit at the same time or would i need to file for the work permit once I am in the US on E2S?
