I want to go to Germany too after the pandemic, I had to save up some money but then the pandemic happened and after I’d been to Korea and Japan in March which was cancelled, I was going to go back and see my dad and stepmother in Hamburg. I guess I’ve got more time to practice really. I only lived there until I was 5 and lost a lot of the spoken, I understood all of this German without the subtitles but I wouldn’t be able to say it correctly and my dad says I have an English accent now lol (sounds like I’m speaking it with a potato in my mouth apparently 🤣🤣🤣). I recommend going to Hamburg even if just for a visit, I know I’m biased but I think it’s a nice city;). Good look with people’s learning and future moves/visits.

@@1anna1 Well to be precise you actually always talk formal. At least when you speak with someone older or someone having a higher position than you. It's just not that common to speak formal to friends or people having nearly the same age. It's not as strict as in korea where it feels like they speak formal to someone the moment you are 2 months older.
Btw. the first question about talking formal or informal is always coming from the older one, else it's seen as rude. I think depending on how familiar and big your company is you get pretty fast to informal or you will always stay formal. As german you probably don't see it much, but formal and informal speech is pretty normal and strict in germany too.

Very good skills for 2 days a week for a year, I think. It's so hard to have a conversation with a native speaker, not only because of the higher speed and different inflection, but also because you can't help feeling a bit shy. This must be an excellent school, and the students must work very hard.

Girls on the left are more conversational rather than fluent. They get by rather well but would struggle holding a conversation for longer than 5 minutes about topics such as politics or history for example. Give them 6 montha of full immersion and they'll be fluent though. Their English level we can't really gauge at all.

I'm German and everytime I wonder why anyone would study German. It just seems so random. It doesn't serve as big a purpose as English and it doesn't even sound nice. 🙈

They speak English too. Somebody should have asked them why they chose German as a second foreign language, i.e., it would be interesting to know.
