Hey if you ever do wheatfields again maybe using a doormat is an option. If it has a rubber bottom it can easily be cut into stripes and you can pin them into the board or leave it as one big pice and it'll be modular.
Yeah they work great, bought one and its serviced me well for ww2 wargames
I really like the way their 3 table parts work so well together, each with its own distinctive style but overall when put together looks cohesive.
Really like these table making videos to mix things up between the more mini focused ones. Must be so much fun having all that Woodland Scenics stuff to experiment with and you've all done a great job!
The vibe of this video is amazing. Just three people building a board together. Keep up the good work!
Speaking of eating off a table, you could turn a gameboard into an actual *table* by embedding it in resin
Why would you ruin the playing surface by doing that?
@@simonwilliamnoelmurray9179 well you wouldn’t do it to a board you USE of course, but it’s a neat way to preserve a cool board you don’t plan on using again for what ever reason
@@simonwilliamnoelmurray9179 Yeah, this would basically be "retiring" the board. But if it looks good enough to make into a dining table, I'd think it looks good enough for a playing table.
A good sheet of glass over top would suffice I imagine
@@Charoy612 that avoids the problem of potentially flattening the flock too
This whole process is so fascinating to watch!
I like tables.
And the little watermill fits really well into that scene. Looking forward to more!
The farmers just vibing then BRARG com3s with da mud lads and stomp the place
I love watching builds like this. It's like magic happening right before my eyes.
The most important thing that board has....is friends. It looks great! I cant wait to see more!!
I love the table builds, I find it satisfying watching these worlds become more and more real, also I enjoy seeing how you guys work together and your process! these vids are oddly therapeutic, all the while ya'lls video chemistry is funny
I love you folks, but understand I have to say this. As probably your oldest fan, and former executive of a watermill museum, it’s compulsory- have you kids ever seen the environment water mills were built in? Good thing it’s fantasy! Well done, truly your talents and hard work are extraordinary, and I know it’s your business but your graciousness in sharing with us is still much appreciated. Another aside, such American villages had huge trees left standing in clear outs called Signal Oaks, as seeing them from afar helped signal one’s way, and signs, messages, and signals were often left on or around them. They were heavily used in the American Revolution (the real one).
Tip for cleaning board after using grass or anything you want to not waste resources: Use a shop vac with a stocking or some really thin material to catch the small grass pieces
like a sock?
Love your vids guys, Your table builds and battle reports are your best videos, please make more of them
Keep up the amazing work! We appreciate everything that goes into making videos.
Quite interested in those yellow crops you made, may try that myself.
I've been looking around for a while now for good, high quality crops that I could use on a base of an Imperial Knight. Just using brushes or something like that doesn't work for that and I'd love to have the giant mech stomping around in a wheat or some other crop field of an agriworld.
This table is awesome!! Such a great design, can't wait to see it in a battle report.
I know everyone's fantasy world can be their own, but it helps to spend some time looking at real-world examples before starting a big project like this.
Fast-flowing parts of rivers with rocky banks tend to be skinny because the water is being squeezed into a smaller area. Whereas, slow-moving natural fords tend to be wider as the water spreads out and slows down.
Some of those "fences" wouldn't do their job.
Long slow high pours are what you want to do with resin to avoid bubbles.
Getting a vac on a low setting can help clean up all those loose bits of static grass before you do your glamour shots. It can also help make them stand on end.
I hope these tips help. I feel like a day of looking at real-world references and a few how-to lessons would really help you guys up your game.
The two patron callouts towards the end was so funny
The way yall make water and have it look like it's flowing so realistically has always been so cool! Especially coming off of the wheel! The details yall put into everything make it so fantastical and real to the world!
That turned out incredible it is really inspiring to see
Awesine stuff, you are right about the relaxing nature of building something tranquil liek a farm. Its a great change of pace and turned out great
I've been looking for a wheat/long grass method that I liked, and the brush idea is super interesting. Thanks for demonstrating!
Good looking table. Would love more table build videos. Desert table? Winter table?
This board looks sick , these music choices are top notch !
Looks stunning
It was five minutes in before I realized Dave was wearing an OneyPlays shirt.
Freaking amazing project gang! One other aspect of this build is that you could now build some more specific moveable terrain, so you can mix it up a bit and be able to have a different look on the board. For example some more elven type shrines, statues, ruins etc.
I love this board! Great job guys
Man I’m definitely no artist whatsoever because I got the concept but i could not visualize it that well and then I saw the finished piece and I was just blown away! This was amazing! I wish I had vision like this because the concepts are there but I can’t do the execution and definitely struggle to see it come together into one cohesive piece or idea. Very cool piece!
Ayyy, OneyPlays shirt @6:49 / the advert
This looks absolutely amazing, I would love to see a game on it
It’s flocking amazing!!
Epic! Nice work team!!
Looks SOOOOO good!!
Love the table and the longer video!
I am so hyped! This is just pure concentration of creative inspiration for me. I have a video that I need to make an avalanche for. I think I might make Mountain as a miniature. Or even better yet I could make all of the different elements of the mountain as miniatures and the mountain itself be a 2-D image. That way I don’t need to worry about the camera focus issues that comes with miniatures because each element would be in focus. I would need like three trees and a bunch of rocks.
Even better yet! I could make the mountain a 3-D model on the computer and all of the elements on the mountain, the trees rocks etc., be miniatures.
Dud you need to wear a respirator, your a huge influence to tons of people and you need to set a good example for them! Cool video, keep up the neat work!
Great build everyone
CZcams recommendations coming up with the goods! This is amazing!
Y'all three are all looking fire!
As is the board!!
Looks good!! I saw one crafter make wheat fields out of those carpets you put on the front of your apartment. However I like how yours looks more natural.
this game table reminds me of the first ever table i played on back back in the 90s at a semi local games workshop store playing fantasy iirc
I remember the old gw site did their wheat field with an old straw floor matt.
I'm never going to build a table but this was nice to watch. I like these people
Absolutely amazing
LOVE TABLES!!
it would be a nice dinner table (some resin pours layers on top, 4 wood legs)... it could work XD
"Planting" rice paddies next to wheat fields makes my farmer brain HURT! :(
(Gorgeous board though!)
Yeah I ain't a farmer but one of those crops grows in a MUCH wetter environment than the other...
Exactly! Totally different ecosystems.
When cleaning up static grass, use a vacuum cleaner with a stocking pulled over the end of it, that way there's less of that fuzzy lying down grass.
So good !
Amazing guys!
You should do a video of how to get people to NOT break the table while playing.
Love it! Been looking forward to this one for a while 👏 keep up the awesome work guys
Thanks for your patience!
Always worth the wait!
Love this kind of stuff. Could you guys do some small scale, modular diorama pieces
I was beginning to think y'all had just quit Age of Sigmar! This looks great. Only 4 more months till the battle report, I suppose?
Seeing how "community friendly" games workshop have been, I wouldn't want to spend time advertising their stuff either.
@@AKKK1182 That's fair, but they've been doing 40k stuff in the meantime.
1 year later and it’s finally here
love this channel 🙂
Good day to all
Get a dust buster with a pair of tights stretched over the end and you'll never have to flip a board again.
Wow looks awesome!
Thanks it was a fun build
Dude, nice Oneyplays shirt!
That board looks epic, although i always wonder when you guys are going to run out of room with these huge projects lol
this is so cool
This is amazing
Great job, gang! 👍🏻
There's a TABS map almost exactly like this, it was bugging my brain why I couldn't place where I saw a similar layout from
It's like EXACTLY the same. I'd almost be surprised if one wasn't inspired by the other. A very strange coincidence indeed
Watching these older vids makes me miss the beardless Dave. What glue did you use between the foam layers?
Maybe use a vacuum with a stocking inside to catch the grass so you don’t have to tap it
i love the backstreet boys poster
Nice video , love it🖤
table so bang so good
Suggestion invest in a vacuum that has a hose put a pice of nylon over the opening of the hose, vacuum up the loose ground product , so you can reuse it. Hope this helps, also reduces the chance of something getting damaged.
Tables are great.
Amazing!
All praise be to the Dave!
Great video. I thought I had spotify open or something when the music started to play around the two minute mark lol. Something not expected about the music choice over terrain making lol!
Nice place to visit.
I love! Hero Forge
“What do you want on the table?”
*”yes.”*
I wish I could do stuff like that
where did you get all your products from to make the board? as in the trees, the grass, resin and such
Table looks very good. Like how you did it to get the three parts to fit together and still being separate. I might put one or two more buildings on it if it was mine, but I guess it depends a lot on what armies you usually play. Hope you will make more tables or dioramas in the future.
Absolutely! We wanted to make sure there was plenty of open space for the usual sorts of modular 'place your terrain' bits you would throw down before a game. I imagine this board in play would have 3-5 terrain pieces on it, but this is the base state!
@@narratordave7831 Hey Dave, any word on the next Battle? Also, please Tell me Jazza's been practicing. As much as it was funny to see you hammer and anvil him as hard as you did, I think I speak for everyone when I say a fight is more entertaining than a butchering.
good video! 👍
I checked out hero forge and it is good 🤗
Amazing table, well done to all. I guess you guys haven't heard of a mill race?
Under the styrofoam sheets theres wood sheets? Or how does that river hold together?
I love hero forge 😊
Where do you find room for all of these terrain sets and gaming tables? Don't get me wrong it look great but my group has a hard time storing our maps and grids.
Reminds me of good ole' Tristram.
Use a static grass applicator to make the grass stand up
Fantastic build as always guys, you do breathtaking work!
May I ask what the song name is at 14:33?
does the building open up? I definitely want to see you guys make a board like this with a building or 2 that the roof maybe comes off and you can move units and and out of them!
Hi, is this still available?
have you guys thought of making a board with it kind of centered around any kind of train running through it? Weather its and older western steam locomotive or a more advanced diesel engine? I feel like that would be a cool idea to interpret into a gaming board
Great work, but i miss a shot of the entire finished table
How did you create the base layer of dirt?
I like how woodland scenics has guaranteed a sponsorship for multiple videos for essentially the price of one.
so cool
I wanna work on this kinda stuff SO badly.
oh the urge to craft
OMG!!! 14:00 Backstreet Boys !!!
