This is church! The whole congregation is standing up!
One of my favorite songs from Janis. Great reaction to that good 60's soul! Thank you!
Janis left a huge indelible mark on Rock Music, don’t think it will be filled during my lifetime. Janis was supernatural.
Goosebumps! Janis always does it for me. No one like her. 😍
"I left for a minute--- I'm back now..."
Perfect compliment!!😁✌
She was rock, blues, and soul no genre just Janis
Guys,,,,, it's all blues. That's the origin ALL rock n roll, r&b.
Great choice, and reaction!
A little Stax, a little Motown, and a lot of Soul! Janis was always called "raspy" and while she was, she was also singing two or more notes at the same time. Such an amazing and powerful vocalist as you guys know from her live stuff. Keep it up gentlemen and thanks!
Janis sang from the depths of her soul!!!
Gentlemen great reaction. Much respect for Janis pure heart and soul in her music. Keep up the great work thank you.
I miss her so much.
FACTS!!!
She really was one of a kind !
Much love to you guys for playing another Janis Joplin song. You need to check out her entire pearl album the album she was working on when she died. She never got to see the success of it.
To me Janis Joplin and Tina Turner were and still are the best female artist of all time. GREAT SONG
Nothing better. Then or now
She is the one and only. No one like her. Pretty fantastic. Thank you for sharing.
R&B, Soul, little funk all mashed together with Janis leading the chior.
Love her voice , I remember when she died , sad . She will always be one of the best! Thank you both .
Two of Jimi and Janis' best in one day. You had a good day.
Funky AF. Drummer's goin' crazy.
This was from "I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!", her first album not fronting Big Brother and the Holding Company and final album released during her lifetime. Her next album "Pearl" was released a few months after her death - there is one song on "Pearl" that's just the backing track because Janis hadn't recorded the vocal before she died.
She was born for the Blues
And so can be said of the band backing her up..
Only Janis can sing over all those horns 🤣🔥💓
The lady could sang
Really, seeing Janis perform live is a whole different level every time. You can find this one and many more on this platform.
Blues or R&B? This is GOSPEL!!! Church, baby!
Janis was the queen
She'll take you to church
SHE WAS 27 WHEN SHE DIED!!!That voice!!!
a mind shattering tina turner/aretha franklin like stroke of soul brilliance...JANICE LIVES!!!
Gentlemen..I just lost some teeth listening to this soulful sugar cane. Many thanks ya'll, it's been a day.
i don't know the genre either but i just added this one to my Funk playlist... thank you!
Beautiful her voice is so unique
Love her!! Glad u do too
110 percent
I don’t have much knowledge of Janis’ catalog. I know all the standard Janis hits or at least I thought I did! That is until I just heard this song with La and Che. My favorite record listening bros.God god almighty this song was tremendous. Right off the bat I was totally sold on this song.. it didn’t take but a few notes and I was talking to myself asking, how the hell did I miss the boat, bus, plane ,train and Uber on this one??? What a track!!!
You can’t get much better than this, Janice was belting her Texas big band sound…what soul…
Thanks for this my friends.
Guys droppin' the fire today! dbl ♥
One of my fave Janis Joplin songs!
Saw her in1969 Saratoga Performing Arts Center WOW !!!
When she finally got a good band behind her. Remember the day she died. Hit me very hard. What could have been...
Janis forever ❤😂
You guys are uber-extra awesome today. You’re spoiling our delicate sensibilities.
🎼😶🎶
Everything about this song is awesome! From the background singers to the band and, of course, Janice is killing it! Excellent reaction, fellas 👌 😊❤
Thanks for the share guys!! This song is just dirty….! 💪🏼👍🏼
Thank you for covering Janis Joplin. She was incredible. And I love your Hendrix shirt.
Glad you guys got back to her!
What a trifecta today! BOOM!
You guys have the best reaction channel by far! And the best mother for buying you cool T-shirts!
La needs a t-shirt with Janis on it.
My favorite Janis album. You would do yourself a favor by listening to this entire album. Keep up the good work guys.
Mike Bloomfield and 3 guys from Steppenwolf played on this album. Crazy stuff. 🙂
Her voice was one of a kind
I'd go to that church. ❤😊
One of her best!
If you ever listen to "AMERICAN PIE" by Don Mclean, he references a lot of musicians without saying their name... when he says "I met a girl who sang the blues and asked her for some happy news, she just smiled and turned away" he's talking about Janis Joplin ❤
As much as I love your reactions, I keep drifting off into thoughts of how so many people could have grown up without having regular doses of so many iconic songs.
Imagine how cool it would be if Joplin, Hendrix, and Morrison had gotten old like me ✨️🙏✨️
Great recording, you guys, I totally rocked out ! 😎
1980 Christmas day two young men childhood friends, 12 bottles of white wine, pipes, tobacco no drugs and a brand new four vinyl album set of Janis Joplin.
Drummer is a BADASS🔥🔥
Janis was ALL ABOUT THE BLUES!!!!!
That band was funky!
You can’t fake the soul coming through on this record
Janis is great (RIP). You could try her duet with Tom Jones, 'Raise Your Hand.' Next Beatles suggestion: the official video for, 'Hey Bulldog,' which was filmed in Abbey Road studios while they were recording it. Great stuff guys, keep it going.
Greatness!
I got to see her twice in 69. Great shows.
Ms. means 'it is nobody's business whether I'm married or not.' LOL
A reaction to,
Little Girl Blue,
please.
Many thanks!
✌️💗🎧
Never be another one like her!
I'm thinking that Janis had her big debut at Woodstock. She gave the crowds a stellar performance and the crowds called out for more!
A recorded version from those history-making days gone by is available. "HINT!"
I know, I know. I know it's over girl. That looks better naked Nik. A. D, yes, BUT journal's Joplin. She's all right with our clothes on. But let me tell you. Why aren't you talking to mom WO? WI mean, she is stacked and packed. I have everything everything on that girl is very very nice of a question mark
Ms. ("mizz") Raspy is consistent with her era. 👍 This, and her Mercedes Benz always bring a smile to my face.
Janis got slagged for this Kosmic Blues stuff, trodding on Arethra's and people's stuff. But she was awesome, that crazy multi-note at the same time thing she did was unique. Sometimes I think Robert Plant was the male version of Janis, you can't sing like that forever, not physically possible.
R. Plant was inspired by the Janis way of singing
The similarity between her and Plant crossed my mind years ago.
Been waiting forever for someone to react to this 😊😊!!! Thanks gentlemen ❤
check out her version of "maybe",,,,yo soul will leave your body,,,
You must do the live concert version of Cry Baby. It's a must!!!
You can hear the Etta James influence.
Bessie Smith actually.
Janis showing off her Otis Redding influence here.
CHURCH ROCK
Just listening to this makes you wonder where Janis could have gone.
All I can say is Monterey.
Texas blues!
When "Pearl" (her nickname) sings R&B--a "raspy" female Wilson Pickett kind of vibe, right?
Janice! The Big Brother/Holding Co. guys were no slouches either.
Hi dee Hi fellas. Ned from Spain here to say thank you and loved the reaction. I think she was kind of influenced by the power of Sir Sly and the Family Stone, maybe Tower of Power and early Chicago too. Mixing horns with guitar rock is not easy to get right but her backing band Full Tilt Boogie were tight and fat. There are 2 good live clips of them doing this if you look for 'em.
If us white folks had an Aretha, it was Janis. In terms of soulful powerhouse. She died way too young, and still look at how well her stuff holds up.
Do please give serious consideration to reviewing "Farewell Song" from the album "Live at Winterland '68" by Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin.
She was amazing. Gone way too soon. Heroin sucks.
Only saw the "ms. means it's nobodys business if I'm married or not"...great definition....it's pronounced "MIZZ" like "FIZZ"
Miss - like 'hit or miss' - unmarried female
Mrs. - you know - married female
Try the band Smith. The lead singer should have been a star, even bigger than Joplin. Check out the song Baby It’s You
Janice left us way to soon.
What other Janis songs are like this?
Half moon, Raise your hand, As good as you've been to this world, Move over, Tell mama...
@@robertgvojic5077 Thanks! I will check them out.
Check the PEARL Album 😎👊🏽
First
Listen to Darla Beaux sing Try
I can't stand Janice Joplin
Guys, do yourselves a huge favor and go listen to(and watch) the live version of this song from the Woodstock Music & Arts Festival,1969.
Even the version from: the music scene 1969 NY❤
