Like a dark, dystopic cousin of the famous video for ‘Take on me’, the video for 'This is now America’ is a lament for an American dream in tatters.
Inside a detailed hand-drawn universe filled with pop-cultural references from the 80’s, the ominous and at times disturbing narrative follows a lost adolescent character on the verge of self-destruction, hiding from and peeking out on a troubled, disintegrating world.

É engraçado, criticam tanto o capitalismo, o modo americano de viver, produzir, mas todo mundo sonha em fazer sucesso nos EUA. Não vejo americanos saindo de seu país pra viver em outros, fugindo do desemprego ou de guerras ou de perseguições políticas. Não digo que é o modelo perfeito de sociedade, até porque esse ainda estão pra inventar, mas é mais fácil criticar do que construir algo realmente bom. O mundo só precisa de mais solidariedade, amor, e o cristianismo é um caminho pra transformar o mundo, mas quem não é, ficando com as duas primeiras sugestões já fazem muito. E vamos ser menos hipócritas.
