I showed this to my students to wrap up a lesson about pollution and its consequences... and they loved it. Twenty years ago I was a socially-awkward, hopeless, angsty black-clad teen and a Placebo lover. Never ever thought one day I would be a teacher and show one of their videos to other confused teens like I was - for a class.

Placebo donated all his money from his concert in Chile after the big earthquake in the same country. They were invited for the president himself at the palace as well. Thatz Placebo, besides a great music rock band, it's a great music rock band full of humanity and humble's instance
All *_their_* money from *_their_* concert in Chile... Placebo is band with two members - vocalist/guitarist Brian Molko & guitarist/bassist Steven Olsdal. Steve Hewitt (10 years) & then Steve Forrest (8 years) were with the band on drums, but they are now a duo. My point is, Placebo have always been a band & not a solo artist, so referring to them as "him" is incorrect.
I think that the person here only made a mistake, since they talks about Chile, probably speaks Spanish, in Spanish "they" it would be "su", which is singular and plural, so renton90 only made a mistake with the pronoun. Also said "they were invited" lol

@@kh1056 he almost definitely didn't. By all accounts he didn't listen to any Talk Talk stuff anymore. There was a Talk Talk cover album released about 8 years ago, and he only listened to one song on that album.

One of the most undervalueded band. Placebo can rearrange every song. Brian Molko's voice is something similar to a riot, a hope, an anger like he always do. Their songs always give real feelings.

I want to cry when I listen to the lyrics in this song-it's so amazing,then I see the video and give my head a shake.I'm on the breadline in my country but I'm positively blessed with riches compared to the people picking through land fills for a living.

I am watching a documentary on Accra, Ghana being a dumping ground for fast fashion and western clothes (a lot of what the people in this video are wearing), and thought of this music video on Agbogbloshie (also in Accra) being a dumping ground for electronics. As much as I like this song, the video is really just as painfully powerful.
So pure and honest. That is exactly why I love Placebo and always will.

Baraka was the third movie Fricke directed, when he was still searching his style. In Samsara, 19 years later he made his point so much clearer.
There is a scene in Samsara that was filmed at the Payatas Trash Dump of Quezon City in Philippines. That's why I wrote that the clip reminded me of Samsara.
P.S. Obviously, Rios Salvajes I was referring to the clip as a masterpiece and not to the song.

I watch it whenever I feel sorry for myself, or sad about life. It is a poignant reminder of just how lucky I am, but also humbling to see what we collectively have done to this earth.
