A quiet subtle story telling that very skillfully packed way more than 13 minutes of compelling narrative into the 13-minute run time. Other CZcamsrs could learn much from the dynamic duo presented to us by Amanda and Brother! Thanks, alot, enjoyed every minute.
I second that!
I third that
I’m really loving you and Gary sharing your travels!
I'm with you. Brother has been a great addition.
Love brother’s commentary!
Stoning landscapes and amazing Africa Twin.
You 2 are a Hoot. Always a treat to see big bro and little sis journey together. 👏👏 Ride Safe and Ride Often (together) 👍🏼 👍🏼
Love your brothers voice-overs! Such a calming voice!
Enjoy this all thanks!
I really enjoy brothers narrations, he has a great voice and is easy to listen to. Good job guys.
I love the Amanda and Gary team.
I have never had to fix a flat on the side of the road. I had a tire go flat while my motorcycle was sitting in a parking lot for hour. It is much less stressful plugging a tire in a parking lot than on the side of a road. There was also no battle of trying to do a controlled stop with a tire that is losing air.
LOVED. THIS. Tears. Thank You.
Thanks for sharing the Evelyn Cameron KPBS documentary link. What she did was amazing ( and not just because she was an amazing woman). Your video hit the perfect balance of motorcycle/history/adventure/travel. Thank you for what you do.
My goodness you guys just keep getting better n better loving the content and connection ye have,,, ride safe now
Yes i have had a Flat... but I also lost a few spokes as it blew out...called a tow truck. Nice Video this week!
Back when I was 15, had one on my 1948 harley. On a Gravel road, had to have someone come and get me, what a day. Love you're blogs and an awesome scenery, keep up the great work 👍
This was great. You have an awesome brother, and he has an awesome sister.
Awsome riding with the Bro. Big Brother looking after the Sister on an epic ride across "No Where Montana." Kiaora for the Great veiws and the History Stories. Love that back ground Stuff.
I woke up to a flat tire. The culprit being a nail. Luckily my bike was safe at home in the garage. Not looking forward to checking “flat on the highway” off my list. But I will certainly be checking out that compressor. Thanks for another video guys!
Not with a bike, but have with a horse trailer. Having the right tools on board makes all the difference!!
*_Looks like it's the Stop and Go compressor for me! Sold. Thanks for taking us along. I hope to make it to the Get On ADV Fest next year._*
As someone who's followed you off and on for a few years really cool to see this video with a lot of places I recognize growing up in Lewistown now living in Billings.
It really is Big Sky country!! I love storm clouds and sometimes pray for a little rain on hot Mississippi days. You always inspire me to do the thing... I cannot wait to ride out west... maybe next summer.
Beautiful country side and yes, awesome brother! Love the two of you working/riding together.
Once again another great show u guys rock thanks for sharing all over your beautiful states there drive safe !!
Enjoyed it greatly guys!
Great content (as always!) Amanda. Really enjoying seeing brother making more appearances... You two have some great travel mojo. Flat tire?? A time or two!
Amanda, great videos. They are so inspiring. Just wanted to compliment your brother on his narration. He has a gift.
Yes! Thank you!
Thanks for a scenic and fun episode. I continue to enjoy the snippets of history you weave in about the towns you pass are really interesting. (After carrying tire plugs for 10 years or so, I finally had to use one last month. Worked fine.)
So far I've been fortunate enough to get a chance to test out my tire repair kit twice.
What an adventure! It's wonderful to see you're able to travel with someone who can appreciate many of the same things you do while still providing additional perspective. Your storytelling ability puts your content above many other adventurers I've watched and I'm always looking forward to the next big trip. Y'all should do Alaska sometime! I've watched a few motorcyclists make it up there but they don't tell their tale the same way I think you would.
I agree with you about the rain being welcome on very hot days. Last year one day in August I rode 643 miles on my newly purchased V-Strom in temps as high as 106 degrees Fahrenheit and the rain cooled it down to a welcome 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
I haven't had A flat tire on my bike yet (crossing fingers). Truly love seeing more brother content! You guys have a great dynamic, and you both have great storytelling! Can't wait for the next video!!
Great vid as always. Thanks for the side Information given as Voice over 😊👍
Haha that compressor is hanging on for dear LIFE. So glad it worked in such a needed scenario!
Aww they're sweethearts
Excellent video. I've been looking forward to these videos since I saw you two at Get on ADV fest!
Loved those little historical bits you threw in about the little towns you went through. I was at ADV Fest for the second time this year. But I don't think we bumped into each other this time. Love your videos!
Thanks to Internet and CZcams, sitting in Bangalore (While triaging software issues) I watched this video . . . If I buy Africa Twin I will drive till Bhutan (From Bangalore).
Thanks a lot for the video.
I know many have said this as well but I have to say there is a bit of magic in these rides with Brother. I do think that they should continue OFTEN. E.S.C. ? Thankfully the answer is no the only flat I have experienced happened in my driveway. the only roadside issue for me was running out of fuel 5 miles outside of Arco ID. It was 105 deg that day......... looking forward to the next video!!!!!
I rode across France on a BMW GS a few years ago in those temperatures. I spent most of my time stood up on the pegs to get some air onto my body. But my feet suffered due to the Boxer engine. Good times were had once I got to the Pyrenees and climbed the cooler mountain passes.
I look forward to all of your vids, they are so much fun and I love your laugh. Gary does great as an added bit of fun such a terrific addition. Your fist bumps are too cool, it makes me smile when you do them. I did miss your supergirl tent fly dance on this one though. :)
About the flat tire along the highway - Been there done that on the Million Dollar Hwy in Co at dusk with no shoulder, and lots of curves. I was able to ride it to a driveway for the Purgetory Resort. With the bike safely off the road and in a comfortable place with a phone, I decided not to plug the tire and to call Triple A instead. At the time I didn't have a cell phone, it was in the 1980s and I was riding a big heavy full dressed Harley (FXRD). Oh, how times have changed,
Keep the good stuff coming!!!!
Another great video. So want to do that area next summer.
I myself have not blown a tire, but I was just a bit behind someone when they blew a tire. Two up on a HD cruiser and the guy did a great job getting it stopped from about 70 mph, with the rear end swaying like a hammock.
I’ve had two flat tires in my bike travels, one front, one rear. Both caused by improperly installed valve stems at the same time by the same shop. Unpatchable, needed a tow both times. Needless to say, I never used that shop again.
Those badlands were surreal in their beauty.
It was great seeing you guys again at GetOn Advfest! Love your duo commentary. Harlowton is a cute town; I've never stopped at the coffee shop before so will need to do that next time I go through. I've also ridden by Ingomar a couple times but never stopped, not sure why, I love history.
I rode Hwy 12 to Ryegate then took a dirt road south to Columbus, then continued south to Wyoming. That heat was brutal, I got near heat exhaustion in Sheridan, WY. I had taken the pass east of Lovell, which was beautiful but due to the cooler temps I wasn't drinking enough water. I declined that pass into what felt like the first level of Hell, got caught in road construction. I was drinking water but got behind, by the time I reached a travel plaza in Sheridan I had the shakes, dizziness and heart was pounding. I dropped the bike, luckily a guy ran over to help me get it back up. I was literally a hot mess!😂 I spent 2 hours in the plaza drinking and eating to get back to feeling "normal". Lessons learned that day for sure!
End screen question: I have not had a flat tire on the road, (I know need to knock on all the wood in the house) I've had leaking valve stems which I caught from excessive checking my tire pressure.
Great Video!! you and "brother" alway seem to have a great adventure.
You kidz make GREAT videos ! Brother does a great job with the history ! The flat tire episode was a learning experience for me !! (I need to invest in some equip) THANKS for sharing !!
Hello Amanda . Happy to see your beautiful countryside . 👍🌞
Great video thank you very well done thanks again cheers to ya.
My brain was expecting "And this is my brother, brother." 😁 - Frank
Yes, another motorcycle rider( not with me) saw me pull off and checked to see if I was OK. He had a compressor and plug kit, but my bike has tubes. We got it aired up and were not far from town, he helped me to a Walmart where I bought a patch kit and borrowed the tools to get it done.
I have seen some CZcamsrs suggest take the air pump out of its plastic case to save space.
I've had several flats in several countries over the years. It's not fun, but not a huge drag either. What I do find is that it always results in good footage elevates the video, and makes a great thumbnail 😆
We have had to handle several flat tyres, one was in the pouring rain, with a tubed tyre that we thought was tubeless & found it wasn’t when the compressor was pumping hard out and air was coming out of the spoke holes in the rim. Stopping every 1000 metres to keep the tyre partially inflated made it a slow trip (we only had a tubeless repair kit for my K1200, not for my wife’s R9T).
Nice video.
Flat tire. Yes, in-between Ennis and Bozeman on a tire we bought NEW in Idaho the day before.
Thanks again for awesome videos! Amanda Zito 🌹🌹
End screen crew answer - yes twice on bikes with tubed tyres - one I had to get recovered - sealant didn't work and inner tube was too badly torn to patch! Second one a slow puncture - again sealant only half worked - limped 300 miles home on a Sunday - no repair shops open - reinflating tyre every 50 miles or so with a ferry to catch! Morale of stories - carry a spare tube - get a bike with tubeless tyres - a repair kit and a spare tube for when it doesn't work!
The Stop N Go Compressor does not stop!!
Love seeing Brother in your videos as much as your other solo stuff.
I have stop n go that has saved me at the side of the road too, but mine plugs into the 12v socket and blows the associated fuse. I need a cable to the battery like yours!
Wonderful and inspiring video.🤎❤🤍
Thank you 🙌
Amanda, another great video
Very nice.
My grandmother was born in roundup Mt before her family moved to Idaho falls idaho about 1910.wasnt until about 2010 I finally went through roundup while riding the 200 rd or highline whichever you prefer.
Great content Amanda keep the videos coming sorry that Gary had a flat
Amanda look into ride-on tire balancer and tire sealer! Works for tube or tubeless tires .
Had a few flats but have always been lucky to have been close to home so was never stuck on the side of the road
I recently rode the Continental Divide trail with 4 friends… we had 4 flats on the whole trip, on the same bike, in the same rear tire lol and that tire made it the whole 8500ish km trip!! Lol luckily it was not my bike *knock on wood*
Another great video with Brother & Amanda with packed African burro. 😁 💯✌🤟🤘
I can completely relate to welcoming cloud cover, storm or not, when riding in 💯+ weather. 😂
🤞🏼I’ve not had to deal with a flat on the side of the road.
awesome sis and bro.. best wishes. subscribed
Nice ❤
So far I have not had a flat tire EVER but now I am cursed. However once coming back from a trip one of the guys key broke off in the tank so messed with that (not me but there were several of us) in Shaniko OR. Messed with it and couldn't get a resolution so he said to break the ignition. One hammered screwdriver later the ignition was driven out of the steering head and all the contents spilled onto the ground. Luckily they found everything and was able to put it back together and make it function so it would turn on. Couldn't put it back in the head so thankfully I had a roll of black tape (I helped :D) so it was taped up and now not able to be turned off but we got home. Yaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
*_I have yet to deal with my own flat tires but have been with several people fixing them._*
I've been lucky enough to not have an on road flat. I try really hard to change tires relatively right before leaving. Of course, that doesn't mean something dumb won't knock it out. I do carry a tire kit with bacon strips, and a compressor. Hopefully, I never need them.
I used highway 12 in Michigan and I think also in South Dakota. A solid road that kept me off the bigger road. I'll go a little slower to feel 10% safer.
I travelled Canada coast to coast by road. Funny thing is when I see some unique landscape in US in videos.. I could many time tell its location in terms of "south of "
Like this video I had guessed would be south of Alberta.. since I saw similar landscape in Alberta Canada.
I found this to be true for, BC --> Washington, Saskatchewan --> Dakota, Alberta--> Montana and New Brunswick --> Maine.
Enjoyed the ride. I believe Suzuki is phasing out the V Strom and going to a parallel twin. South Alabama we ride most days straight thru winter. RIDE SAFE Amanda!
Gary's channel in 3 2 1. I'd watch you both.
My first flat tire experience was also with Gray, just trying to make him feel at home 😂…I think we know the common denominator, he’s great at staying calm and optimistic!
🤣 💯
Nice. Looks like the ol’Strom is a bit of an unsung hero.
Have you ever considered doing a tour in Africa, South Africa to be precise.
I think you would thoroughly enjoy yourself. You have the Cape, the majestically Garden Route and to crown it off there's the Kruger National Park and surrounding areas. Think about it, at the current exchange rate, you could have an awesome trip. There is also our neighboring countries that offer as much. Namibia Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Love and blessings from Kruger Park in South Africa.🤗🤗🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I mean yeah that would be awesome, but also that requires 💰💰💰💰
@@AstheMagpieFlies At an exchange rate of R17 SA Rand to one US dollar you would have an awesome time.
🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
amanda is cool.
Hi Magpie, Love your channel. I am leaving Buffalo NY for LA on June 1 on my Africa Twin. Do you think it will be too hot for OK TX and NM? Thanks.
So that Aftica Twin with a seat height of 34.5 inches. How do you start and stop on that thing?
more than a moto video, this is a great story. love seeing your brother in your films... on a technical note-no more GoPro? Why not? do you have a video with your new camera set up? cheers!
czcams.com/video/EHew9xqynFI/video.html
What software do you use for drawing the line on the map
How did you like the AT during this trip?
Yes to flat tires on the side of the road - on my bicycle. 😁
Keep the rubber side down. 🏍️
no flats on the road. In the mountains alone, but not the side of the road
Great video as always!
The footage at 12:34, which the guy getting water thrown over him? Do you know what that was about?
I’m looking for non absorbent long sleeve shirt for inside my bike jacket, wondered if this was such a demo???
Gotta wait for the next video man
Hi Amanda.
Do you ever use your DJI Action 2 on your handlebars to capture the shot of yourself riding?
Is it affected by engine vibration?
I have not done that no. I got it specifically to be my helmet camera.
Yes, had a screw in a tire that was 45 days old.
I headed for the Fest myself & halfway across Wyoming my Africa fuelpump decided it was too hot & went out. The heat was terrible. No matter how fast I went it was too hot.
Me and my brother were on the wyoming bdr during the adv fest. Our hottest day was crossing the dry dusty desert at 20mph. Harley guys at a gas station sure were complaining lol after we spent half a day riding the sand at 110F
How many times / miles do you take a break each day? Every 50 to 60 miles? 75 to 100 miles? or is it a time thing?
lol more of a when you feel like it thing
so i am not mechanical and have never fixed a flat on a motorcycle. I purposely got a bike without tubes in tires to make a flat easier to fix. I thought spoked wheels have tubes yet watcing this it looks like the repair did not inovolve a tube. Are your borther's tires tubless. Please educate me. Also thanks for another great video. YOur videos are always great and I like it when your brother is with you too.
Hi Eric. Yes the older V-strom's are tubeless. No spokes in my rims. Much easier for repairing flats.
I really like the videos with your brother. Wondering if he calls you Sister? 🙂 So far no flats on the bike but about 5 times in cars through the years.
Thats whats nice about tubeless tires. Plugs
Neat! I live in Lolo Montana. Up hwy 12.there is a little gas station 4.5 miles up from Lolo. Travelers rest country store. Did you get to ride hwy 12
Hi Chris, we have ridden hwy 12 many times. Excellent road. There's a group that rides up to lochsa lodge every Sunday for breakfast in the summer of course. They usually meet at the Conoco at 8 or 9 am if I remember correctly. I have gone with them a couple of times.
@@thedigitalnothing nice then ya probably have meet me. I work at travelers and have for 13 years
Hi great video. Did Honda repair your Africa Twin?
What was to fix? Plastics are just cosmetic the bike still runs, I don't care if it has scratches on it lol I taped up the turn signal it still worked so I didn't take it to the shop
@@AstheMagpieFlies Fair enough
And we are getting snow in Illinois right now
This was July ....
How do you manage to fit so much stuff onto a bike? 😱 Enjoying the videos, greetings from UK 😁
Practice lol
It's africa twin better than cb500x??
2:20 looks a lot like an album cover of Mike Oldfield. (‘Crisis’, I think) 👍🏼
