  • The decision to remove the rear seat of the Hilux was a easy one since we only used it a handful of times. This gives us the space to fit a "Pantry, En suite and Wardrobe" in the ute on a tiny scale. Without this upgrade living out of the car would be PAINFUL!

    Hey mate,
    Looking to do a similar thing to my lux. How have you secured the rear and bottom pieces of ply to your panel/floor so they don’t move around?
    Thanks for the inspiration
    I just couldn’t quite see in the video

      @SendinIt  Před 3 lety

      The individual units are screwed together firmly with screws and right angle brackets to tie the base to the other pieces. Done half of aus with this and its still rock solid. Just remember to use glue on all joins

    Mate this is awesome dude just what i am looking for for my lux. Is it removal?

    • @SendinIt
      @SendinIt  Před 4 lety +2

      Sure is! There is no fixings that attach to the ute at all. The rear long shelf hangs on the factory seat supports and the rest of the cabinetry screw to each other. Very light weight. 6months later it's still super strong. Hope it helps mate

    Question how are you setup to power your cooler ?

    • @SendinIt
      @SendinIt  Před 2 lety

      I have got a constant 12Vdc double socket mounted on the timber shelf which powers the fridge and phone chargers

    Great idea , thinking the same with my dmaz , you want toake sure thu that it's not going to effect your insurance , because it's a variation , might mean a trip to DOT , but hey looks great

    • @SendinIt
      @SendinIt  Před 3 lety

      Yeah i think this is technically illegal because the car is designed to have 5 seats not 2. Would be interesting to see if i can get a roadworthy in this current state. I can reinstall the rear seat without a hassle if need be

    • @benraunik
      @benraunik Před 3 lety

      For it to be legal you can register it as a 2 seater pretty sure you just have to put a cargo barrier behind back seats

  • @dreamtotravleeveryisland9771

    Hey mate my underseat storage lid flap things aren't stiched on , what could I possibly do to attach them.. have ou got staples on yours / how are your seat storage lids attached ?

    • @SendinIt
      @SendinIt  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey there, mine are stitched to the main carpet lining.
      In your case id recommend using a small cabinetry door hinge and screw it between the flap and the storage hole. This would allow it to open like a door

    You do realise it is illegal to remove the seats and not the seat belts?

    • @SendinIt
      @SendinIt  Před měsícem

      Yes it's illegal, definitely a common mod in the off-road community though
