  • Overland Camping Storage Setup.
    In an effort to make the most of the space in my dual cab ute I removed my back seats and made a storage cupboard.
    After 3 years I have to say it works really well for me. As it is usually stocked with all the non perishables you need for camping, It saves me a lot of packing time!

      That bench space on the passenger side, it looks like the exact dimensions needed to hold 24 Kristy Kreme’s

    Very interesting and some clever ideas.... however, check your State's laws. In QLD one can take out rear seats 'temporarily' (not clearly defined). So... check or you may get a nice expensive piece of paper from the local constabulary.

    Nice addition to the duel cab, think the cupboard door might have been better opening from the other side?

    Definately going the same way when I pick up my dually. pointless wasting space and everything is easy to get too.

    I've got an early 2011 SR5 Hilux Dual Cab....... how the hell do I get the rear seat out - not talking about the cushion seat??? There's no pull-cord or anything I can find to release it

    I've been looking at doing something similar with my extra-cab, now just have to find the right size fridge to go in there. When I'm travelling solo without the camper trailer the big fridge takes up too much room, so a smaller one in the back of the cab makes sense to me.

    The in and the out cable of the cellFi should never be run together they can induce into each other can dramatically reduce the effectiveness of the repeater like wise with the internal antenna, make sure it has metal in between it in the external so it isn't talking back into its self. Few tips for maximum performance

    2 seats works better for road head, no worrying about making the people in the back uncomfortable 😜

    Did you create the storage cupboard yourself? Or did you buy a few main pieces and assemble it yourself?

      @@SeekAdventure Sweet, I'm thinking about doing exactly what you did in my 80 series, just took the rear seats out. Still deciding whether I should build it myself ot just stack boxes.

      @@SeekAdventure Yea I was thinking of putting some tie down points on the rear seat bolts. But your cupboard looks exactly like what I had in mind. I was thinking of putting a cupboard behind the passenger seat and a single person sleeping platform behind the drivers. Good to see someone else has made it work. :D

    How many months of the year is camping season in western Auz? Here in Canada, winters are a bit severe and only the deranged and real die-hards camp more than 5 months of the year.

  • @paulgeering1992
    @paulgeering1992 Před 5 lety +1

    i would suggest checking youre insurance on two fronts, 1. transporting flammable liquid is not permissible with nearly all insurance PDS. 2. did you get a engineering certificate for the vehicle modification by removing the back seat? Once again youre insurance company might have something to say about that let alone the law who may defect you just speaking from experience.
