- Overland Camping Storage Setup.
In an effort to make the most of the space in my dual cab ute I removed my back seats and made a storage cupboard.
After 3 years I have to say it works really well for me. As it is usually stocked with all the non perishables you need for camping, It saves me a lot of packing time! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Great idea, A lot of extra room. Well done !
Great work mate on all the modifications, about to start setting up my Colorado Dual cab...keep up the good work !!
Great setup mate. Some inspiration there for sure. Thanks for the video.
Sweet hat! 👌
can't wait to get my first 4x4!!
16 seconds in i pressed pause... I ripped out the back seets for extra storage the week i bought my 2006 navara... I will keep watching :P
Good Ideas!
self stocking shelf! Would be great if you had a self stocking fridge with beer
You're a thinkin' man Mike !
usually while you're on the dunny... :P
That bench space on the passenger side, it looks like the exact dimensions needed to hold 24 Kristy Kreme’s
got to send my Suzuki jimny, over the pit to have certification for rear seat removal. and re-class it as a 2 seater
YEA Boi!
Very interesting and some clever ideas.... however, check your State's laws. In QLD one can take out rear seats 'temporarily' (not clearly defined). So... check or you may get a nice expensive piece of paper from the local constabulary.
I want the self stocking shelf for my house.
Nice addition to the duel cab, think the cupboard door might have been better opening from the other side?
Definately going the same way when I pick up my dually. pointless wasting space and everything is easy to get too.
I've got an early 2011 SR5 Hilux Dual Cab....... how the hell do I get the rear seat out - not talking about the cushion seat??? There's no pull-cord or anything I can find to release it
I've been looking at doing something similar with my extra-cab, now just have to find the right size fridge to go in there. When I'm travelling solo without the camper trailer the big fridge takes up too much room, so a smaller one in the back of the cab makes sense to me.
The in and the out cable of the cellFi should never be run together they can induce into each other can dramatically reduce the effectiveness of the repeater like wise with the internal antenna, make sure it has metal in between it in the external so it isn't talking back into its self. Few tips for maximum performance
2 seats works better for road head, no worrying about making the people in the back uncomfortable 😜
Did you create the storage cupboard yourself? Or did you buy a few main pieces and assemble it yourself?
3rd Person: just add pillows and sleeping bags to pad the 'seat'?
hey mate, I'm looking to build a similar system to yours. I've got a bt50 like yours. What was the dimensions of your cupboard? Cheers
Good thing you don't have too many friends, otherwise you might need those extra seat 😋 Just saying... 😁
If you have your girl who wants company unless it's another girl!what happens on the camping trip stays on the camping trip mate
Is it legal too take a person with the 1 remaining seatbelt in the Back?
Nah not legal to modify seats haha
But in an emergency who would care, love the hat mate 👍
how did you secure it to the floor?
@@SeekAdventure Sweet, I'm thinking about doing exactly what you did in my 80 series, just took the rear seats out. Still deciding whether I should build it myself ot just stack boxes.
@@SeekAdventure Yea I was thinking of putting some tie down points on the rear seat bolts. But your cupboard looks exactly like what I had in mind. I was thinking of putting a cupboard behind the passenger seat and a single person sleeping platform behind the drivers. Good to see someone else has made it work. :D
;)
How many months of the year is camping season in western Auz? Here in Canada, winters are a bit severe and only the deranged and real die-hards camp more than 5 months of the year.
Capi Berra all year round if you can handle the heat in summer.
I don't think legally you can remove back seat and install cupboards
Why buy a crew cab then?
i would suggest checking youre insurance on two fronts, 1. transporting flammable liquid is not permissible with nearly all insurance PDS. 2. did you get a engineering certificate for the vehicle modification by removing the back seat? Once again youre insurance company might have something to say about that let alone the law who may defect you just speaking from experience.
Hehe. Australia, the land of laws.
that doesn't make any sense to me, if you never carry any passengers why did you buy a dual cab lol :/ awesome idea to utilise the space though
Personally I’m a Queenslander and nobody thinks that Western Australia is part of Australia so your not an Australian
Haha love it mate!
But thats ok Oliver, it's not by choice that we live on the same continent as you Queenslanders 😂😂
@@SeekAdventure another Queenslander here, dont know what this blokes on about mate, i know a few Sandgropers here and they're all top people. id love to get over to the west coast one day. looks like a beautiful part of the world
olivergardiner7265,, I wouldnt brag about being a queenslander mate, in WA we dont think of you as real men, stick to ya rugby and stop taking our GST
