I didn't think this is how MM8BDM would initially end. I thought we'd just have another fight with Evil Robot in his body, but this game blew me away. Both on the spritework for this boss, and the amount of time coding it must have taken. This takes EVERYTHING you know about MM8BDM's rules and completely TOSSES it out the window in the long run. And then the cutscene and motivational work. This is how you make a game feel like anime. fuck, now i want a MM8BDM fan-anime.
Yeah no I was not at all ready for this. I just got blown away by all the work done by the team and just the amazing job done. It was a true masterpiece

It's been wild, really. This silly little mod was one of the big things that helped me get into Mega Man in the first place, and honestly? I don't think I could have asked for a better finale. I mean, come on. You actually did the whole bit where the protagonist gets knocked down, but then they remember everything they're fighting for and they get back up while the anime OP starts playing.
WITH the spirit of their mentor beckoning the hero to rise from the ashes, and a previous arc that also explains the mysterious origin of the player's powers without just coming out and saying it.
I noticed in the end instead of saying "To be continued" or "see you in V6-7"...it just said "THE END". Holy hell...does that mean this game is truly complete? Like, this is the conclusion? Because if so...bravo!
There'll likely be a MM11 themed chapter as somewhat of an epilogue. It likely won't be on as grand a scale as v6 and won't happen for a little, but I wouldn't turn down more 8BDM content.
One way it could work is the plot can be modified slightly around Mega Man 7 since there's not much happening there. Maybe place Mega Man 11 after 7, and for 7 the reason why Wily is doing shenanigans there is that he's actually already recreating the Double Gear system. After this, it's the mm11 chapter. Then, his plans "faild" again this time, since Maestro managed to steal or recover the Double Gear system. From there double gear will be available for whole world and in turn usable by the player from there on. Wily, being as persistent as ever, plots to have a comeback after the evil robot crash lands and uses the evil energy. Maestro will have the double gear system up until Mega Man 10, and it can be chalked up to Roboenza breaking it. It can be a partial reason on why Roboenza makes their hosts do unusual shit; exploiting the double gear system. Maestro or the player should be able to get it back at the end of the final chapter though, repaired by the justice energy or Dr. Cossack. This is just one of the ways to put in Mega Man 11 without it feeling like an epilogue or a filler, though it will be up to the devs if they would like to change the chapters for a bit. And there's also another good way to put Mega Man 11 in somewhere.
The other way would be placing Mega Man 11 after MM&B and making the genesis unit appear later. Instead of confronting King and making him turn around he retreats. While retreating, "someone" gives them a helping hand and gives them the double gear system. The war goes on and Wily's mm11 robots will have to be stopped as well. At the end of it all the Maestro finally faces King and turns him around for good. Then the genesis unit arrives and ruins everything as usual. Double gear can be probably outlawed after the Wily Wars chapter or be put into proper use for the player and anyone afterwards.
@@GmNdWtchr96 to be honest...I wouldn't Mind a sequel to MM8BDM. To try to top V6, would be an exercise in futility. Start with a new plot and do whatever!
Once you beat v6 you receive a letter from Wily talking about gears and bringing back something he thought about when he and Light used to work together MM11 content is confirmed V7 will most likely be the final update
Berserk! Megasphere! Degreeless mode on. _Eclipse was punched out by Maestro._ Okay, but seriously... This is how you end a game after 10 years. 10 years of dedication. @@HCN-002 They would spawn on levels in Doom 1 and 2, though the cheat IDBEHOLDS would also give you berserk. They are not, however, actually available in MM8BDM.
Maestro: I won't give up! No matter what it costs me, I will destroy you, Eclipse! For Light... For Mega Man... And for everyone who I trust... I will finish the job I started long ago!
Why did you continue to fight? Were you simply following your design? Or... are you _more than just a machine?_ The power within you... it was not _given._ You *chose* to wield it. To be their hero. Your friends... Your enemies... They all now look to you for hope. Their fate is in YOUR hands. But your body is broken... your weapons destroyed... *Are you bound by your limits?* *OR WILL YOU CONTINUE TO FIGHT?*
I've never felt more powerful than I have in this fight. I just knew I had to keep pushing forward, and the title "for everlasting peace" is SO fitting for not only saving the world from demise, but for the entire Mega Man legacy.
“You are not welcome here, not only have you threatened the technology of this planet. You invalidated one of my favorite Megaman characters (I really like Sunstar) and returned when you shouldn’t have. You are the most evil persistent eldritch nothing-but-terrible excuse for an advanced robot I could ever comprehend. Now that you have actively tried to ruin all of this, I have no choice but to do the one thing that will get rid of you for good… Yes I’m actually going this far because that’s how much I want you gone. I miss fighting Dr Wily already, you are nothing compared to him, NOTHING!!”
Continued from my post from the Thy World Consumed. After you get knocked down. you received motivation from Duo. In said motivation, You saw all your friends and you rivals in a vision that now all their hopes and dreams are on you. Then Duo's silhouette appered before you asking whether you want to give up or fight on? And suddenly you filled yourself with good (justice) energy, The direct opposite of Eclipse's evil energy and powers the supposed destroyed Gamma Mk2 back up. Totally can imagine all the Robot Masters and the humans back at the base going full cheerleader mode, crying tears of joy, yelling all sorts of encouragements (most if not all of them are telling you to give Eclipse a massive beat down) or just flat out impressed or astonished while you stood up again and go Star Platinum on the Eclipse and send him all the way to the Sun. This is for Duo!! This is for all my friends!! This is for making all of us suffer that viral outbreak because of you!! And this is for getting your disgusting tentacles on me!! And with that... TRIO!! Die!! And take this accursed energy/virus with you!!!! Basically you are now living Duo Legacy after he is gone. Because now you are Duo. You have his power.
Well it's called Justice Enetgy in The Power Fighters, and the term "good energy" implies that it could be any type of energy so long as it's beneficial. Plus, justice is usually a thing that's associated with the good guys.
This is the only time in the game where using the god command is valid. Not because it's hard, but because it makes the battle cooler. You're just pounding Eclipse down to the ground while he's throwing everything he possibly can in vain. You're willing to take every single shot he sends at you and defend all humans and robots. You won't let anything stop you. Nothing at all... For Everlasting Peace... even if you won't see it in the end... as long at the ones you care for do... Still you should at least do it without god mode your first time.
How you can hear the Evil Robot leitmotif, but it instantly switches to the megaman 10 title screen theme, used in the scene of Duo´s return. Simply beautiful
It’s almost as if it’s representing how Eclipse is desperately trying to force you back, but you’re brimming with so much Justice Energy that it doesn’t even work. Evil Robot’s leitmotif tries to override the song, only to get shut down.
Both this fight and Sunstar are easily some of the best boss fights I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing in the twenty years I've been alive. Bravo, CutmanMike and the rest of the MM8BDM team. To think this started as a simple Doom 2 mod and blossomed into a fantastic love letter to Mega Man as a whole is mindblowing. We've gone from simple arena matches to literally fist fighting eldritch horrors for the sake of the entire world.
It's funny- I've known about MM8BDM for a long time. Randomly discovered it on Doomseeker, gave it a shot, concluded it was a heehoo funi Megaman Doom TC for deathmatch, and moved on with my life. I've never been a big Megaman person, so it didn't interest me that much. Fast forward literal years, and suddenly Jonny Atma drops a fucking banger cover of this and Thy World Consumed, and I'm like, hold up. MM8BDM has a final boss? MM8BDM has a *story mode?* I thought it was just heehoo funny robot deathmatch! To say this immediately seized my interest is a mild understatement; at the end of the day, I spent a lot of time with SRB2. I have a great appreciation for fan projects like this. And this one is *really* impressive.
Ironically, it was watching the Eclipse battle and the Sunstar battle that got me interested in this game. Playing this game was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Thanks for this awesome fan game, and I look forward to V7.
@@supersmashgaming9445 Evil Robot’s dislike must’ve resurrected, like the machine itself...as for the second dislike, I’d have to say Terra, as he didn’t get to see our despair.
This ending is so good it makes me sad. to think this is the end of an adventure this long and know you've given so much of you, that there is nothing left but the memories of that journey trough an entire new dimension.
This music thy world consumed feels hopeless because maestro feels terror. He knows he can’t kill eclipse because of his fear. But as the ominous red sky fades to blue, the mortally injured machine staggers to his feet and despite his agony he’s no longer Afraid because he realizes the only way to defeat eclipse is at the cost of his life. He fights the way a doomed animal does. Using his body as a bartering ram. Both eclipse and maestro die horribly as he ignores his burning agony and flies the contorting abomination into the sun. And though maestro ejects before impact he still slowly burns alive. A true hero and his torturous sacrifice reminds me of the sacrifice of someone who came hundreds of years after.

Duo: Are you really bound by your limitations? Me: ...... No..... I won't be... taken down......... so easily...!! Duo: Or will you continue to fight? Me: ... I... I will not... I will NOT GIVE UP YET!!! *screams with all wrath and rage while becoming empowered with justice and light* Duo: Now go! Destroy the evil! End this war! And save the universe! Me: Duo...... thank you! I will! And I'll do it... FOR ALL OF YOU!!! YOU... YOU DIE HERE AND NOW!!! Trio: *roars* When the final blow strikes Me: Time to end this, for the greater good of the world!! *starts ascending* Me: SO LONG FOREVER, YOU CURSED BLOB OF HELL!!! Eject mode, enable!! CPU: Eject mode enabled. When I eject Me: *watches Gamma and Trio get destroyed by the sun* I... I did... i-it... Dr.Light: I didn't know either at first, but it seems like Wily has dropped you off in the backyard, and saved you. But he also had this letter with you when he left, and I was hoping he'd finally change, but it seems my old friend will never see things my way... Me: Wait, YOUR way...? Dr.LIght: To make humans and robots live in peace and co-exist... oh Albert... it seems we are at edges with each other......! Me: I wouldn't worry, Light... Wily never really learns much anyway... he'll just keep doing this over and over again, and the only thing we have as a way to help him come to his senses is to just fight... I know it's kinda hard to deal with such tragedy, but it's the only thing we can do... to bring justice into the world... Dr.Light: It is most unfortunate, but I suppose you're right... Mega Man: Hey! Me: Mega... Mega Man: You did so much to save the world from destruction... and I just want to say that you really have earned your reputation as not only a hero, but a world savior. Me: ... Thanks... but honestly, I don't think it was just me that saved the world... Dr.Light: Oh? Me: We all worked on Gamma, and we did it cause of the crisis we were in, and we all worked as 1 to make it possible to save the world. So, I think almost all of us were the real heroes, and mostly Wily... he's pretty much a 25er kinda guy, but at least he was able to help...! Dr.Light: Indeed... I just hope that one day, Albert will finally see through his crimes and finally comes to his senses and work for justice and hope. Me: I'm sure he will...! *proto man whistle tunes* Proto Man: Hey. You did well in the fight for the world. I have a bit of a message from Dr. Cossack and King for you. Me: Oh really? What'd they say? Proto Man: They both said that they were more than grateful for your efforts of protecting the world from evil, and they are already working on a new project that will make a great change to the world. And they also said, "thank you." Me: ... Amazing...! I must've changed so many peoples lives when I saved the world, haven't I...? Bass: Hey... Me: Bass... lemme guess, you're wanting to fight Mega again...? Bass: ... Ya know what...? He's just too weak right now, so I'll just let him go for now, but I just wanted to say that you didn't do all that bad... But the next time we meet though, you'd better be prepped up for when we fight next time. Got that? Me: Heh... usual talk from ya, but thanks! And I'm so gonna make sure that I'm prepped! Dr.Light: It looks like Mr.X just announced a new special tournament for the highest ranked champions from all over the world! Mega Man: You ready for it, Proto Man? Proto Man: I'm just gonna spectate. What about you, Bass? Bass: Tch, I got better things I want to do, but I suspect that he'll join in though...! Me: I'm always ready for a new challenge! Let's go, Mega Man!! Mega Man: Alright! Hopefully I'll be able to see your full strength in this tournament! Me: Right on! Dr.Light: Good luck to you 2! Both of us teleport to the tournament arena Me and Mega Man: Let's go!! *jumps high and busters ready* This was just my way of doing the scenes and ending, if it had some extra bits in it, along with what I'd probably do, since Maestro is literally you, so I hope everyone enjoyed reading my way of the fight and ending, and live life, like a MEGA LEGEND!! 😁👍
Fun fact: When you fight Evil Robot (Trio) he is the one who goes berserk when he is losing, and his music changes. But when we fight Eclipse, we are the ones who almost lose and go berserk, with a change of music too.

If Juno Songs or The Man on the Internet ever do this song, I got them covered: 1:07 "This is it, This is it, this time you'll go down!" "I will save them, I will save them all... never backing down!" "Now its time, Now its time, its time to face justice!" "This is my fight, my will, my vow.. For Everlasting Peace!" "You, thought you'd won, returning the evil in you" "You won't win, with such blight, you will learn that light always overcomes the dark! "this is it, this is it, the finale.." "I'll protect them, that's why I'm, here!" "Now its time, Now its time, the big finish.." "This is my fight, my will, my vow, For Everlasting Peace!" "Here we go, here we go, time to save them.." "I will make sure, that they all see the light, the light of peace!" "I won't stop, I won't stop, Not until you're gone!" "You won't win, not while I live, face justice!" "you're feeling weak, just as i was when you knocked me down...." "unlike you, I will still fight strong, so now its time, time to land the finishing blow~!" 2:54 "Die you oversized pile of scrap!" (it will die, it will die, it will go down) I'm gonna make sure that, even if I don't, everyone see's the peace you tried to take away!" (he will give us, all the world peace!) "Going up!!!!!" (to finish this, finish this he will...throw every last little bit of strength at saving us all) "your going to the one place that I know that you can never return! DIE ECLIPSE!!" (this is it this is it, we will be saved, the hero's death, will not be in vain, we will remember..)_ "WARNING! EJECT IMMEDIATLY" (This is what i wished for... i wanted you to all live happily....) "Duo, I will see you soon old friend..." Even if no one does a lyrical adaption to this song, it was still fun to write this, idc if anyone thinks its cringe, I had fun dangit! EDIT (6/17/21): made the lyrics better and hopefully not as cringe, if people are gonna like this comment, it might at well be on something worthwhile.
There's only one major issue with these lyrics, and it's not whether or not they're cringe. For something like a musical adaptation of For Everlasting Peace, you'd *also* need to first adapt the Evil Robot's theme, as well as Thy World Consumed. Since TWC is essentially a remix of the Evil Robot's theme, and it plays in the background of this track, so you'd probably have a clashing vocals segment a la Hopes And Dreams/Save The World. That said, given the use of leitmotifs in 8BDM's OST, it could work really well if done right. TBH if you want, you should try to pitch the idea to Man On The Internet, he's adapted a bunch of different tracks and OSTs, so it's not unthinkable that he might take up 8BDM if someone brought it up to him.
I have some issues with the structure, it really should have another verse and some more cohesive lyrics matching with the notes. I'd also recommend adding timestamps for the different segments for better cohesive. I do enjoy it, but I'd be lying when I say I had an easy time following along
Maestro is not quite Super Form Super Mega Man from archie, but he is certainly stronger than every canon character when he is using Duo's alien energy.

what i'd say is not try to top it, and instead just continue the story, there's no point trying to go even higher, otherwise it's just make the story feel like DB, with constantly more powerful stuff, instead of a more meaningful and good story,
You know, when I started this game, if you told me that it would end with you piloting a city-sized mech, having a 'the real power was in you all along!' moment, and shoulder-checking a space station into the sun, i probably wouldn't have believed you.
metal virus? pft, like that's *anything* compared to roboenza, just from the evil robot possessing one single machine directly, instead of through evil energy/roboenza, it was capable of infesting the entire wily star, does the Metal Virus have anything to hold up to that? and no, i'm not saying idw is bad or whatever, i'm just saying it just makes no sense acting like it's more powerful that roboenza and evil energy,

this was honestly one of the most intensely epic boss fights of my life. going as not just myself, but piloting an improved version of Gamma. It's late, it was past 2 AM, but I knew I had to push through, for this one last hurrah. I fought with everything I had and it did take me a few tries. When the second phase started, I knew shit got real. The rush flew through me and I could feel my heartbeat as my body tensed with excitement. And then, with my fist of justice, with the hopes of everyone watching, using the power of everlasting peace, I smashed the son of a bitch into the fucking sun! Holy shit. They cannot top that. They just can't. THIS is the peak of the story and even if they decide to do a MM11 campaign, NOTHING could possibly top something as exciting as this. But... I might get proven wrong. We'll just have to wait and see...
...there is ONE way they can top that. And that is to add characters from different game franchises (Sonic, Pac-man, Mario, etc.) and go beyond the original plan for Mega Man 8 Bit Deathmatch: a battle between the Classic Mega Man characters.
@@ianthehedgehog9327 no, that is one of the stupidest things i've ever heard it turns it from a megaman thing into a boring crossover, a mod that adds a chapter based off of worlds collide would be fun, but forcing that all into the story of the vanilla 8bdm? nah, that does not work at all.

When your weakness is close ranged attacks.
is that a throwback to chapter 6?
Once you beat v6 you receive a letter from Wily talking about gears and bringing back something he thought about when he and Light used to work together
MM11 content is confirmed
V7 will most likely be the final update
Three years later, I still think this is one of the best climaxes in anything Mega Man-related. Stellar.

I find it hilarious that in both the MM8 chapter and this fight, the Evil Robot/Eclipse's weakness is _FISTS_
I've never felt more powerful than I have in this fight. I just knew I had to keep pushing forward, and the title "for everlasting peace" is SO fitting for not only saving the world from demise, but for the entire Mega Man legacy.
The title is also apparently a Mega Man X reference, considering that's the name of the MMX1 ending theme

That ending was incredibly EPIC!!!
MM8BDM is so far my favourite Mega Man fan game! I'm glad I played it all these 10 years!
Yeeaah, MM8BD forever!!!

This ending is so good it makes me sad. to think this is the end of an adventure this long and know you've given so much of you, that there is nothing left but the memories of that journey trough an entire new dimension.
Yeah, every time then i hear this song i was tearing.
This was my way of how I'd be like in the scene and fight, along with the ending! I even created my own kind of dialogue for it all too, so hope everyone will enjoy my take on this:

Dr.Light: Ah, good! You're awake!
Me: L-Light...? What happened...? How did I...?
*proto man whistle tunes*
Proto Man: Hey.
And they also said, "thank you."
Me: ...

Mega Man: Alright! Hopefully I'll be able to see your full strength in this tournament!
Me: Right on!
Dr.Light: Good luck to you 2!

"I will save them, I will save them all... never backing down!"
"Now its time, Now its time, its time to face justice!"
"This is my fight, my will, my vow.. For Everlasting Peace!"
"You, thought you'd won, returning the evil in you"
"You won't win, with such blight, you will learn that light always overcomes the dark!
"this is it, this is it, the finale.."
"I'll protect them, that's why I'm, here!"
"Now its time, Now its time, the big finish.."
"This is my fight, my will, my vow, For Everlasting Peace!"
"Here we go, here we go, time to save them.."
"I will make sure, that they all see the light, the light of peace!"
"I won't stop, I won't stop, Not until you're gone!"
"You won't win, not while I live, face justice!"
"you're feeling weak, just as i was when you knocked me down...."
"unlike you, I will still fight strong, so now its time, time to land the finishing blow~!"
2:54
"Die you oversized pile of scrap!"
(it will die, it will die, it will go down)
I'm gonna make sure that, even if I don't, everyone see's the peace you tried to take away!"
(he will give us, all the world peace!)
"Going up!!!!!"
(to finish this, finish this he will...throw every last little bit of strength at saving us all)
"your going to the one place that I know that you can never return! DIE ECLIPSE!!"
(this is it this is it, we will be saved, the hero's death, will not be in vain, we will remember..)_
"WARNING! EJECT IMMEDIATLY"
(This is what i wished for... i wanted you to all live happily....)
"Duo, I will see you soon old friend..."
Even if no one does a lyrical adaption to this song, it was still fun to write this, idc if anyone thinks its cringe, I had fun dangit!
EDIT (6/17/21): made the lyrics better and hopefully not as cringe, if people are gonna like this comment, it might at well be on something worthwhile.
Dude, you have my respect.
I do enjoy it, but I'd be lying when I say I had an easy time following along
someone NEEDS to make a lyrics video with these lyrics!
I am SO glad this got a GaMetal cover. I never would have played this masterpiece of a game otherwise
Maestro is the most powerful Mega Man character in existence.
Maestro is not quite Super Form Super Mega Man from archie, but he is certainly stronger than every canon character when he is using Duo's alien energy.

this was honestly one of the most intensely epic boss fights of my life. going as not just myself, but piloting an improved version of Gamma.
Maybe the MM11 one could be a bit of an epilogue, kind of like the MM7 chapter?
...there is ONE way they can top that. And that is to add characters from different game franchises (Sonic, Pac-man, Mario, etc.) and go beyond the original plan for Mega Man 8 Bit Deathmatch: a battle between the Classic Mega Man characters.
@@ianthehedgehog9327 no,
that is one of the stupidest things i've ever heard
it turns it from a megaman thing into a boring crossover, a mod that adds a chapter based off of worlds collide would be fun, but forcing that all into the story of the vanilla 8bdm? nah, that does not work at all.
And the tears coming out in your face right?
better than every call of duty ending combined
hi. i have a question. will there be Version 7?
Maybe, with Megaman 11 and Megaman & Bass Challenger from the future
How exactly did we go from robot fighting tournament to giant robot anime battle?
Ok the letter at the end when you go to the mailbox is hinting at mm11 the double gear system THIS IS NOT OVER MM8BD IS NOT OVER however all thas left is mm11 BUT ITS NOT OVER and besides if they do the x games as this style which i would love maybe Megaman X 16-bit Deathmatch idk but im hoping when mm8bd v7 comes out it will hint to future games or the x series
yeah, the ending cutscene of chapter 6
implies at least SOMETHING,
also, if you change your skin in the cutscene where X looks at a golden statue of you, the statue changes in sync!
Epicness
People: Making an Anime Style Mega Man final boss that’s actually super powerful and really fun is impossible
CutManMike: Hold ALL of my beers
And sad in the same time because make some people cry.
hold the beer, all of it.
all of it in the ENTIRE world
God damnit Capcom, just hire this man already!
This theme always reminds me of the AVGN throwing that copy of SuperMan 64 into the Sun
in other universe:
Fight, Quint! For everlasting peace!
Good place to use godmode even without skill issues.
