A great idea to go for a MM7 style, as opposed to doing the 8-bit style.
In terms of scale/play area, MM7 and the gameboy games are pretty close in size.
I was thinking the exact same thing! Honestly, doing all of the game boy games in this style would be stellar
i wouldn't say MM7 Style, it would be more like Power Battle/Fighters style
Yah so they can more easily adapt the level layouts. Genius way to take the project.
Yeah. At least the MM7 style is getting more recognition.
that power fighters style, not mm7, but they are kinda similar
As someone who both loves MMW5 and thinks that the MM7 sprites are criminally underutilized, my excitement is immeasurable.
The lack of screen scroll transition is a touch disorienting, but otherwise, damn, this looks amazing.
I just realized that the bigger sprite in 7 helps capture the smaller screen of the Gameboy. That’s very cool!
The gameplay looks amazing, but the art is so good that I genuinely spent a few seconds looking at it and thinking "wait is this actually from MM7?"
You have somehow NAILED the style in a way I didnt think was possible.
The animation is also *stupendous* .
The enemies look more alive than ever! d(^-^)b
@@FORTEtheSECOND EXACTLY. That's what was freaking me out!
I genuinely thought this was too good to be true for a few seconds!
The one i noticed is screen transitioning
@@FORTEtheSECOND The art and animation is professional level. It's even better than the animation quality of MM games on the snes and is closer to the animation quality of MM8.
This looks really good, but I have some issues. The screen transitions are WAY too fast meaning that players who would be going into room with no time to react to the obstacles on the next screen. That being said, I love the art style of MM7 and think this shows promise. You have my interest to say the least.
I think the cuts between screens are only because this is early footage. Keepin' my fingers crossed, here!
@@FORTEtheSECOND That is my hope as well. I want to see this succeed, but to ignore the problems early would be sin when it shows promise.
I think some people might prefer it, but yeah, I agree. It'd be cool to see an option for the screen transitions.
Additionally, in the video the screen transitions when climbing ladders are instant, when in fact they should involve vertical scrolling.
I thought they were just jump cut for the video to keep it exciting?
The fact that you pulled this off in UE5 is incredible! The 16bit Megaman V is phenomenal! I bet you’ll love making the boss fights, especially the later ones lol
I REALLY hope this doesn’t get cancelled. This looks fantastic.
Do NOT jinx it.
@@alexfischer7876 *_It has been done, brother._* 😖 *Brave yourself!* 🙌
Capcom is gracious about fan projects
I haven't been this excited for a fan project since Sequel Wars
Screen transitions need to be slowed down to allow reaction time. The old games didn't have instant transitions to spike traps, FYI.
Never would have thought the sprites from Mega Man 7 would work so well with gameboy level design, but this is looking great. Can't wait to see more.
Transitions look cool, can’t wait to stream it ofc
This looks incredible so far! It could really use slower screen transitions but I look forward to playing this.
Somehow the MM7 style fits this perfectly, and you've clearly put a lot of passion into remaking even the smallest enemy and detail. Well done!
For years I had been thinking that the sprite sizes in MM7 would be ideal for a remake of the Gameboy games. Just add a scrolling transition between screens and you're sold (that abrupt screen change makes that vertical corridor with the spikes very daunting)
Man, what a well done job! i hope you can continue this project this need polish some little things like camera, and ladder stairs animation but everything is fine enemies, the buster sprite and gamespeed make this looks like an official game keep doing bro
I can't wait to hear the MM7 style soundtrack to go along with this game when its finished.
I told Maxie to follow his heart and don't get hung up on SNES limitations, so you will probably get something more unique out of the soundtrack.
Neat.
@@MarcDWyz
There's an alternative, however.
*PrincessZelda2020* has composed SNES-style soundtracks for basically every Classic Mega Man game - including _Mega Man V_ a.k.a. _Rockman World 5._
_The option is there if you wish to take it._ Would be cool to choose between *PrincessZelda* style (Faithful to SNES) and *MaxieDaMan* remixes. But that's up to you.
This looks so good! Can't wait to try this out when it's ready.
This looks absolutely incredible! While there are a few kinks to work out, I am immensely impressed with what you have already accomplished. I have always lamented how the MM7 style was used just for it and the arcade games, so seeing a fangame using it is an absolute treat. Choosing to remake MMV/MMW5 is a genius idea, given that the screen real-estate is very similar between both games. With this and the colorizations of MMW5, 1&2, it feels like the Game Boy games are finally getting proper recognition. Best of luck to you; I will be following your work very closely.
This looks hype! I really like the fluidity of the enemies, and it is nice to a Mega Man fan game that isn't 8-bit.
Mega Man V (GB) is one of my favorite Mega Man games and seeing it in the MM7 artstyle is amazing.
Might be a perfect chance to play a new game after that Wily Wars MM4 remake!!!
great job dude!
this is officially on the same level as the Sonic Triple Trouble Remake !
The pixel art is SUPERB
THANK GAWD FINALLY SOMETHING NEW WITH OLD SCHOOL MEGAMAN!!!
This is perfect çwç
It's basically my two favorite classic Mega Man titles combined into one! This is the stuff that dreams are made of çwç
MM7 is my favorite classic era game, seeing a new game with this style really warms my heart
This seriously looks fantastic and everyone working on this deserves to be extremely proud. Really looking forward to playing this!
Keep it real, dude! You got the whole community rooting for you guys!
I'm happy that people are excited to play it :D
Great to see you working on a new project Marc! I was hoping that someone would reimagine MMW5 for a while. That game is so underappreciated.
I'll be looking forward for more updates 👏
Thisis lookin pretty cool! The one snag I have is how quick the screen transitions are, buuuut I know you'll iron it out in due time
Yoooo A fangame with Mega Man 7 graphics! Never thought I'd see the day!
Really good work there, it's also really cool to hear that Egoraptor is helping with a fangame's pixel art. He did also make an update to the MM7 walk cycle not that long ago, so any chance you guys might consider using that one?
At this point we have decided it may just be best to stick closer to the official games and keep things recognizable for fans.
This looks good for a fanmade Mega Man game! I like that Mega Man is made in the style of Mega Man 7 for the SNES even though this is a remake of Mega Man V for the Gameboy! I also like the background music!
I always like it when MM7 style gets recognition. Really underrated
The art and animation is professional level. It's even better than the animation quality of MM games on the snes and is closer to the animation quality of MM8.
I am actually Super Proud of My Brother " Koy " for being a Part of This. And i am Genuinely impressed by the amount of work and talent from Everyone involved. Im looking forward to playing it.
He's a great guy and SUPER creative!
*That's freaking awesome! Kudos, guys! I'm really looking forward to playing this!*
Dude, this is INCREDIBLE! Seriously amazing job, I'm dying to see more! Mega Man V is one of my favorites. So underrated!
I absolutely love how this fangame looks, I’ll definitely keep looking forward into it! I wish you the best for this stellar project!! ❤
You know, whenever I thought any of the game boy games would get a remake, it should've been in MM7 style, considering that both 7 and game boy titles have more chunkier sprites compared to NES titles and MM8/MM&B. And man, did you deliver with this project. I hope we will see it finished one day, and maybe even get other game boy games too in that style.
Holy crap. I just saw this video in my recommendations. This looks amazing in MM7 style graphics.
Oh, wow… This looks fantastic! The graphics overall is really nice but the animations of the redrawn enemies just makes me all warm and fuzzy. This is really exciting!
Always loved the running animation from MM7.
Beyond excited to see a Mega Man 7 style fan game! Looks incredible and will definitely be excited to follow the progress! Keep up the amazing work!
Kudos for the name alluding to the SRN.
MMV on MM7/Power Fighters style? I'm sold
Subbed because i want to keep an eye on this project. Megaman V it my favorite in the saga, and this really make a great justice for a forgotten game. only thing i find off its the transition on vertical screens, i dont remember if megaman V had this kind of instant transition at least on vertical sections, but when watching your gameplay i honestly didnt have time to react where you going to fall. overall this is awesome!
Everything is perfect! 🎉The only thing is strange and I would be great if it is fixed is the transition between screens:it's like them pop up instead of move one from another ....
Love the music in the MM7 style ❤
Mega Man and the Star Droids, 16-bit HYPE!!!!!
Wow incredible! Looks really amazing! Looking forward to play it someday! Thank you for using your time to grant us this masterpiece ✨
Incredible work
I see some good progress. Love the animation, though it comes very smoothly.
MegaMan 7 and V bros, We’re SO back.
This is definitely promising. I know it's a prototype but you may wanna start adding some screen transitions.
Yes, you answered your own query; It's not a complete game yet, so not everything is finished.
where can i find this version of the ost of this stage?
I don't think Maxie has uploaded it anywhere yet. I'm sure he will, especially later when there is more music finished for the game.
This Fangame Looks Very Good! The Pixel Art for the New Enemies (Enemies that isn't on MM7) Look Very Good! And the Animations look Very Smooth! But I think that the Part with Mega Man Falling with Spikes should be Slower, Or make You able to see the Spikes Early.
My first impression is: “Fantastic.”
Looks really cool, RockmanWorld 5 has probably the coolest designs and lore, really a good choice, avoiding 8bits style was a good choice as most of mm fgs uses 8 bits style, but i have some thing to point:
> The screen transition is too suddlen, i saw its an early prototype so it hopefully will get improved
> The mega arm sprites are a bit weird, dont missunderstend me, they are good, but they looks too powerfull for mega arm (maybe its an upgrade?) specially the muzle sprites
> Megaman keeps his arm before the mega arm return, i dont know which are the limitations but would be cool to see megaman anims without his arm while the mega arm is out
i hope i can play this fg when it launches, i kinda dont have luck with fgs as my pc is really weak and cant run most of the new fgs (as they use the newer apis)
besides it, its a really good job, cant wait to play it!
It's a very early prototype so I couldn't fix everything before this deadline. We're just getting started so many things are still incomplete.
Sliding in this game looks so much better than in Megaman 7
So are you guys gonna adjust the boss weaknesses to not be so......misplaced? Or are all 8 bosses gonna be available from the start?
Same availability as the original, 4 and 4, but I will come up with something to address the weakness issue. MM7 had two weaknesses for some bosses because of that I believe, so I'll be thinking in that direction.
@@MarcDWyz Nice :3
It’s the Mercury theme but what kind of music is this and the link to it?
It was made by @MaxieDaMan but I don't think he's uploaded it or anything (yet)
Finally somebody use the best sprite design of megaman. I always wanted that nes megaman was remake with mm7 graphic design...
The sprite work is simply amazing! I just think the screen transitions need some work.
OOOO a huge surprise this fan-made!!! 😍🤩
I have deep admiration for you for doing such a great job, please keep it up.🎉🎉🎉
Man, when was the last time you saw someone trying to make a 16-bit Classic Mega Man fan game? It's always 8-bit 'round these parts. Consider me interested!
Hope to see the usual screen transitions in a future update, though. The instant snapping definitely doesn't look right.
On the dropping spike trap I would either introduce a gimmick like flashing warning signs, something that slows mega Man down or blocks that cover the spike and break after 5 secs because I see that is something that could take players away. That said everything else looks amazing!
Hell yeah! I wouldve preferred his m&b sprites, but this is still looking great so far!
Great gameplay 👍
Looking and sounding really good. 😮
My 2nd fav MM sprite below the MM8 / R&F one.
Great idea to do a 16-bit remake of Mega Man V. Now if they could just do a 16-bit remake for Mega Man 9+10 or fan made 2D Mega Man games after Mega Man 8, I'd love it
This is probably the only Mega Man game I'd like to remake, and I especially don't like 9 and 10 much for their regression in gameplay mechanics (removing charge and slide).
I wouldn't mind taking a shot at Castlevania 2 though lol
Glad Arin got to work a little on this too!
He's been a great help! Him and Tim have been doing about half the animations each, and really a great job!
Just a few notes. I'm hoping you'll be adding sliding screen transitions, it's a bit jarring the way it is now, and shots definitely should ping off at an angle, seeing them bounce right back at Mega Man seems wrong. Maybe make a separate round bullet to make that happen?
Very early prototype, much will change as things go on.
Omg I love this soooooo much please don't stop mannnnnn 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The fact that Megaman's animations are the same as the original game but more fluid reminds me of Sonic Mania
What is really funny is that the cancelled Mega Man Gameboy Collection was called "Mega Man Mania" lol
@@MarcDWyzCoincidence or causality? We will never know
This looks really good!
16-BIT GSQ
WE DID IT
I only learned the name of that enemy because we had to research it for this game lol
Así debió haber sido MegaMan 9 y 10.. buen trabajo...
With a little extra ironing out this could be an excellent remake! Just don't pull an X Corrupted and we'll be happy.
This looks awesome! 👀
Really loving and vibin to the music. Trying to figure out the title....
I like the look of the charged blast
This could be like a "What if Mega Man World 5 was released for the Advanced instead of the original."
quando o jogo estará disponivel pra download ?
It's too difficult to make a date when it is all volunteer work.
It's really nice! A release date?
Difficult to say when it's volunteer work. Maybe sometime 2025?...
Finally, somebody that knows 8bit style is overused, and even made new sprites for the enemies.
Great job on the animations.
But... Its too damn hard to make a 16 bit fangame lmao
It's definitely not easy lol
The difficulty is what makes sprite animations great. And show mastery of your craft, beyond that of a hobbyist.
I myself am doing a MM fan game. But Im imitating the process of DKC for SNES: Making the 3D models, animate then painstakingly turning them into 2D.
@@WhatIsMatter101 oh shit, can we see the progress?
@@WhatIsMatter101 Most of the heavy lifting is done by Tim and Arin (Egoraptor). I can do some of it but I spend most of the time directing, supervising, and programming at this point. 😅
Looks great, I've always wondered why nobody remade MM5 sooner, its such a great game that goes beyond what the Gameboy could allow it to do.
As a big fan of Mega Man 7, I really appreciate the choice of using its graphics, definitely a very underappreciated style and game in the series.
I could have sworn someone has tried a couple of times before 🤔 Maybe they never got past the concept stage.
They were just like NES style remakes though. Which at this point you might as well just play the DX GBC hack if that's what you want.
Regardless, it's time we started getting 16-bit style games 👌
You got Egoraptor to join you? THE EGORAPTOR!?
Ye :)
The art style looks absolutely fantastic, but I think Mega Man needs to have screen transitions, ESPECIALLY for vertical sections with spikes. If you just instantly go from one screen to another, your brain doesn't really have time to adjust.
Yes, it's just an early prototype like the video disclaimer notes.
I love that fan remake MM games ❤❤❤❤❤
I can't wait to try it.
I love megaman V for gbc , old memories 🙏🙏🙏🙏 salutes from Bogotá Colombia
This already looks great.
Cant wait to see Terra in 16 bit
Me too LOL
The game looks incredible, the Megaman 7 sprites are one of my favorites. But I see something that worries me, there is no transition from one room to another. It doesn't have to be a bad thing at all, but a transition can allow the player to react in advance to some platforms (such as in the free fall section in the Mercury stage seen in the video). Beyond that, the sprites are very well animated and the gameplay looks fun. I'm quite interested in how this plays out.
(Early prototype)
This is what Mega Man 9 and 10 should be like
Definitely looks promising.
