It’s so surreal to see the roots of African-American cuisine being cooked and prepped in its region of origin. This makes my heart smile to see all the influence we’ve passed down as slaves. Some of us never knew why we did it it but something inside us kept the tradition alive. Extremely proud to be black and of Nigerian descent. Sending love🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
African American?? 😂 this dish isn’t African American mate chill out lol it’s African period
Really your food preparation process is very interesting but let me know why you are not installing kitchen table so as to you can avoid continues bending efforts which are painfull.I am from Maharashtra state of India.Nice
West Indians call this rice & peas. I don’t think American Africans have this kind of food. They are thoroughly American after all.
@B1Chronixx I stand corrected. Thanks for the knowledge 🙏
the ROOTS of african american cooking. @@PryncessKhash reading is fundamental.

I really tried this recipe and the result came out perfectly and as for the taste of the waakye it was magic ❤❤
I respect our Ghanaian mothers paa. They are so hardworking and this is what they do to take care of us.
Great job cooking. Amina explains her method of cooking very well. Respectfully, one suggestion I would like to make is if you can get a table to put your ingredients, meats and fish on instead of on the floor, it will be good.❤
Those beans are called black-eyed beans btw, for anyone who wants to make the recipe and is looking for them at the grocery store. Sometimes also called black-eyed peas, they're the same thing.
I love the way sis amina is explaining everything, the food is well prepared and looks yummy
Thanks
