New subscriber. I taught special needs children for 35 years. I've seen many sensory boards, both commercial and homemade. This is one of the best I've ever seen. Perfect for toddlers with or without special needs. Little Miss Curiosity obviously loved it.

I am soooo jealous of your workshop. I'd love to get into woodworking, but have no place to do it (or the money for the tools). And OMG I love the look of ply wood. What a fabulous piece you have made. So much for little fingers to build dexterity, and growing minds to be stimulated by.

Hi! I'm doing a busy board for my nephew and watching doing it for your little baby is really amazing and inspiring! I'm not an expert on this, but I would like to ask you about what to use to keep the wood shiny but with a protective coat, easy to clean: shall I use wax or varnish? And what comes first, paint and then the coat of wax/varnish or the other way around? Thank you very much!
In my opinion natural hardwax oil is best solution. Osmo hardwax oil, Treatex or Rubio

Kudos for your video. I am making the same as you, more or less. Can you tell me how you do to apply the varnish and the paint ? Do you sand between 2 coats of varnish? What thickness of sandpaper ?

Wow! You are awesome! What you've built is so thoughtful that I want to play with it and I have been 40 for 20 years. You can measure the play time in years not minutes or hours. If you have space for when she gets older you could add a combination lock, and a way to show magnet polarity (you know how the poles will repel or join according to the pole combination), I just thought of these because I was amazed at all the functional and sensory skills you had covered. I wanted to see if it was even possible for me to come up with something else. If I were your daughter, when I grew up, I would not let anyone take this board away from me. You might as well put her name and the date on it. If you have another child, as wasteful as it really is, you might have to build them one. too. This is the real activity board AND it's not a plastic throwaway.

That is a clever busy board filled with useful tools. I can imagine all of the hand made wooden toys from building blocks, puzzles, to a rocking horse that will delight her for years. Fun video.
