I sat behind the lakers bench in game 2 and it was an insane playoff atmosphere. Hoping that they can pull off a win!
This series would've been so so different with Jarred Vanderbilt and his intensity. Easily 2-2. People don't truly get how much Vando can provide that energy witu his defense, creating swings early on and in the ending minutes of quarters which the Lakers have struggled to close. Hes so vital.
I have to keep reminding myself that not losing for the 8th seed was the right decision.

@@lacosa24x no. The reason DEN is in this series is because of our lack of discipline, focus, and rebounding resulting in too many 2nd chance opportunities like the 3pt MPJ hit in game 2. We almost had the rebound and couldn’t secure it.

Jokic initiates contact on every play, he's sneaky with those elbows on his offensive moves. Pushes a lot on rebounds and box outs, and sets a lot of moving screens walking backwards or sticking his rear out.
Agreed he's allowed to get away with so many pushes under the basket and offensively use his off arm as a weapon. Everyone uses the off arm to some extent but he gets away with more.

After Jamal Murray tweaked his calf, I was watching him the entire time afterwards. He was favoring it. I know he will play but it’s a risky choice. If he really injuries it, it could put him out of the rest of the playoffs. This will be interesting.

Lakers better keep attacking Jokic on defense. Driving and attacking the paint posting up get Denver to over help. Then kick to the shooters hopefully they knock shoots down.
This is what i am thinking, AD and Bron; if Jokic gets switched on, need to attack him every single possession. Also Murray may be banged up, AR and Bron have to attack him nonstop to slow him down on offense.
@@khoado123 They also had success posting up Murray and KCP. If they are switched on Lebron AD and Rui lakers need to post them up quick. With Reaves, Dlo and Prince near to catch and shoot when Denver over helps. Also keep putting AD or Lebron in the dunkers spots when the other has the ball. Easy pass to drop off that’s what Denver does with Gordon.

Vando's presence can be like a Gordon-ish role.. where he drives to the basket, catch lobs, and help rebound and also guard MPJ... and Lebron can guard Aaron Gordon on D so that he doesn't exert too much energy.
Vando ceiling is definitely Gordon with better defense I can’t wait!!!!

How many times have you seen, rui play good defense on jokic only for jokic to miss and get the offensive rebound 😢right back.
Or when AD goes to challenge a perimeter shot..only for jokic to get the offensive rebound in the paint against the smaller lebron and rui.
I dont see this happening as often with wood in the paint.

I said it on the members only show, force Jokic to either foul AD or continue to play minimal defense to avoid fouling. You will cripple the Denver offense if he is off the court for extended periods. My plan of attack would be to leave AD on an island with Jokic and live with the results. If someone comes to help, pass out and live with that as well. Getting Jokic into foul trouble early and late game should be the goal. There is no one else on Denver who can slow AD down after that. Force feed AD the ball.
They should guard Murray full court from the gate to force him to turn it on and if he is hurt he’ll have to sit or play half speed

If we play each possession methodically without stupid carelessness, like last game we’d be more than fine. Also, need to take timely timeouts and slow it down the game as soon as you sense Denver go on a run. MUST win the rebound battle (use Prince more, maybe wood and Vando for this) and keep the turnovers to a minimum and we will win!
Go at Jokic early and get him to foul. Use those mismatches in the post and play with no fkn mercy!
AR and DLo are key offensively and if not, Rui can get it cooking bruh we are in it!

Going back to last year. We were winning most of these games. We need to get some stops and box out.
Trevor's analysis and plan for game 5 is right on! It aligns with my hazy perspective. The thing to do is to disrupt Denver's rhythm of deadly offense where they get open shots. Break their rhythm. Maybe block key players or key assist players. We need more rim protection from Jaxson. Rui needs to sink the ball in during layup as he had done in regular season games. Lastly, I noticed that when players are relaxed they tend to sink their 3 point shooting.
They gotta figure out how to stop Gordon

it comes down to simple math. The Lakers have led in all four games so far the Nuggets do not have Bruce Brown and they don’t have Jeff Green this time around we have Cam reddish and Vando who both would have given trouble to MPJ and Gordon. Maybe Vando didn’t make a difference last year but this year he definitely definitely would’ve made a difference.
When Vando is driving to the hoop and making hustle plays on offense he can stay on the floor against the Nuggets.
Still it’s the boards where if we control that, DEN chances SIGNIFICANTLY decrease. Win the boards win the game.

The Lakers don’t have to worry about Bruce Brown and Jeff Green this year. That’s why they are giving the Nuggets trouble in every single game fully healthy Lakers team beats this team. You can’t refute the math at this point we have four games. The Lakers led all four games. There’s no other way around it.

That's great news regarding Jarred. There is no way Murray will not play unless he's injured enough that he can't be effective. Regardless, the Lakers have to play at least as well as they did in game 4 if not better. Denver will adjust and the Lakers have to counter. This game is going to be more difficult to win than game 4. The role players will have to bring it, not just A.D. and LeBron, for the Lakers to have a chance to win.

When I rewatched the playoffs In 2020. AD Was st perimeter and Howard was getting all the rebounds and getting put backs. Now AD Is shooting and no one is rebounding for the lakers
Jokic and murray aside, we dont have answer for MPJ, he's been shooting lights out and we got nothing on him. Vando coming back is nice to hear, his job needs to be MPJ, make it harder for him, don't let him score more than 15points. And hack a JOK muat start now.
Lights out is 8/15, 8/13, 8/16 and 10/20? He's 44% from deep, but it's just 15 makes total. D'Lo has 12 on the same amount of tries. He's been the best shooter over there, but it certainly isn't so bad that we absolutely must have Vando on him or else we are done. In fact everyone is pretty sure of how they have to play now. It would be bad if minutes came from Rui just to have a live fitness test in a game that will end the season if it fails. There's too much risk there and too little upside. I don't really want to see PER 7 Vando on the court and Lakers playing 4 on 5 on offense because of it. It's just not a good idea to bring him in now.
If Lakers have a lead at halftime, start the 3rd with Vando (instead of Rui, unless Rui is cooking)... Defense, length and effort. He can help dampen a Denver run with D and rebounding.
If they double box AD, That would be ideal for Vando, Hayes & Woods.
Lakers might not beat the Nuggets but this hard fought series with an injured Murray might end the Nuggets playoff run down in the later rounds - especially if this goes to a G6.
Lakers should win this series though this is the key game because Denver will get nervous
DLo and Reaves should play each other one v one every day in practice.
Keys to make history 1) Jamal Murray gets injured 2) Jokic gets injured. If 1 & 2 happen they’ve got a shot.
