Nov 5, 2019 #BANDMAID #ROCK #CONQUEROR “Welcome home, masters & princesses” BAND-MAID is an impossibly hard rocking maid band. "輪廻" music video from "CONQUEROR"
Their amazing diversity, and high-quality diversity at that, is why I put them in the category of elite rock/metal bands of all time. Bands like Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath, had tons of talent and could not be put in a box musically. Way more diverse than the casual observer would think. Band Maid is the same. Highly skilled, terrific song writers, and musically adventurous. They hardly seem to ever misfire!
If Band-Maid isn't ripping your face off (Rinne, No God, Black Hole), they're soothing your soul (Manners, Daydreaming, Memorable). Their music does what great music is supposed to do... move you, if only for a moment, into another realm. What more could you ask for from a Band of incredible Maids?! Thank you, Guy, for bringing your new viewers into the Band-Maid experience.
@@ThisGuyReacts85 So true. Even the songs that I don't listen to anymore or don't feel in some way, I can appreciate, as a musician, the quality of playing.
As an old Black Sabbath fan I love this song and would always have it in my top ten of great Band Maid tracks. I mean they have so many great songs so the list changes but Rinne is just always there. Always makes me want to play the album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Interesting point about the 'upbeat'. This has sort of become Miku's signature move. Probably one of the first things she was taught how to play by Kanami.
The video was shot using real 8mm films, as homage to Japanese horror movie with the same title RINNE, where a person tried to film souls of people leaving the body with 8mm film camera when he killed the person.
Yes, they used 2 Super 8, 8 mm film cameras, but they also had to use a few action cameras as well, because Kanami and Akane's feet and hands were too fast for the shutter speed of the film cameras (24 FPS) and they blurred. So for closeup of their appendages, they used basically Go-Pros with the frame rate set to 120 if I am remembering that right. Then when edited together they put the overlay filter on it to hide the use of the Go-Pros.
Saiki says rinne within the first few seconds of the song. You’re close, but you’re doing a common thing where you’re slightly turning the soft E at the end into an ei (like saying the letter A). Rinne means reincarnation, incidentally. It’s a cool song. This cemented for me that they have a sound, but not really a style. They can play whatever style, but they always sound like Band Maid. You can tell when you hear those bass runs, and drum triplets and weird lead guitar touches like those upbeat slides.
@@GaryHolloway-810 Great. Let's see see now. If I add up all the cost of your statement... um... 0p minus the spelling mistake discount equals... Ah... 0p! Bueno bueno!🫰
@@TomClark-Futoura See i knew you'd understand.😏 Btw i already have a backdrop of twin suns & three moons (What are the odds of that happening?😯) that you won't see for a while yet, which means i've had to put some footwear on K. I can't have her walking barefoot on that terrain with her dainty feet :)
I liked especially this reaction very much: Enjoyed it, po 🕊 If you want to stay with the more Hard-Rock-Maids then try the official live version of "Moratorium". If you want something different then I recommend the online live video of "Manners, Blackhole". And if you want a more mellowed Band Maid then you should check out their latest song "Bestie".
There's a live version on the Instrumental Maid channel. The lead guitar is a little lost in the mix like in many of their live videos, but it's good. You should definitely check out Puzzle Live and Corallium Live at Shibuya Eggman. The arrangements are amazing.
Uh... Not exactly Home Movies. The reason for the "Retro Style" is that this song was inspired by a Japanese Horror Movie of the same name, which used a lot of 8 mm film. They they also shot it on 8mm film, which is why it's so washed out and grainy. But the song makes up for that. It's on CZcams. Here's the trailer . . .czcams.com/video/ra3y12ef0Fo/video.html

they have such a high level skill set, they should be more well known
Critics said they were becoming too pop. So this is a "Suck it" response to those mouth breathers. Hence Saiki's last words here. SHUT UP!
ill try to not piss of the Maids XD

the list of bangers they have is just all of them at this point

@@TomClark-Futoura there is a dif level of appreciation as a musician, which is one thing i wanted to bring to the channel

Great to see them grow together

so i was on with the feel of it. Awesome to see that level of detail
needed Go-pros for the Pros
Great reaction yet again- Thanks. The golden rule- always expect the un-expected from Band-Maid. The queens of transitions and the joy of random-ness.
ill be on my toes for sure

they really do cover so many musical styles and techniques, its amazing
If this song where a vehicle it would be a freight train!! A 1000tons of relentless ROCK!!
valid point :)
Rinne is a little under-appreciated I think. It's a banger ❤
totally agree
See, see. I told you "RINNE" was awesome.😁👍
Love it when you talk Mexican. 🤠
@@TomClark-Futoura Yeah it's about as close as i get & the "See,see" spelling mistakes come at no extra cost :)

I'll check it out!
Moratorium
noted
This one had more of a punk feel to me than metal. While the band does have metal elements to their music, IMHO their punk roots are stronger.
very diverse :)
Band maid doing band maid things
and ill enjoy XD
