this was a great western.it was essentially a prequel to"the carpetbaggers"with 2 characters from that novel which also spawned the other film,the younger version of nevada,who would be played as an older man in the 1964 film by alan ladd,and who is here played by steve mcqueen and jonas cord,sr.played in the prequel by brian keith and who would be played in"the carpetbaggers"by"high chaparral"star leif erickson.and alfred newman provided a score befitting the epic this was!
