This movie got critically savaged and did very little business. It's actually worth seeing, though the fx aren't great, Caine is, not a shock, very good! It follows the source novel very closely until a rather stupid tacked on ending--I think that ended colored alot of opinions of the film, as maybe it should. Still worth watching.

John Barry making Music for the greatest Series from 1962-1989. Heavenly beautiful and gigantic. As are all the soundtracks from the other Musicians Monty Norman (Dr. No), George Martin (Live and Let Die, I just received the new 2CD-Set from La-La Land Records), Marvin Hamlisch (The Spy Who Loved Me, hopefully it will be released in a full version also in the near future), Bill Conti (For Your Eyes Only), Michel Legrand (Never Say Never Again) and Michael Kamen (Licence To Kill). Heavenly !

I do love a bit of Hans Zimmer or Jerry Goldsmith, however John Barry was in a class all of his own! The Bond movies wouldn't be half as successful without his evocative soundtracks.....

This is what you truly call music at it's best as i got it myself on CD i also got the full series on DVD Book 1/2/3 i only watched it last week again.

Really appreviated Emil Newmans talent, as well as Alfred and Lionel Newmans talent. They ruled with music during the Golden Age of Hollywood movies.
