    Thank you so much. I’ve been using the singing straw with my vocal coach and it’s great to have a video to follow along - at the moment I’m rehabilitating my voice after a flare of my neurological condition. Three months of barely speaking and having my muscles not working right anywhere in my body has left my voice pretty weak and straw work is SO helpful.

    Hi Whitney! I've been wanting to strengthen my voice for a long time, AND I got sick, so I ordered the S/S (original). I've been doing this video every day for about 10 days or so w/ 2 straws. Is the idea to strengthen enough to be able to use one straw before moving to longer workouts? I tried your "How to jump back in" workout yesterday (w/ 2 straws) and it seemed great, but a few hours later my voice felt tired so I'm back to this one today. I'm stressing about what's the right thing to do!

    • @SingingStraw
      @SingingStraw  Před 2 lety +2

      I'd work your way to a single 3mm straw here and then once you're comfortable with that, start doing longer sessions.

    Hi Whitney, just purchased your product and I've very excited to add the straw to my rehab routine. I've been experiencing vocal issues since December after going through covid. I've been having trouble accessing my mix...the space that I used to be able to create is gone through my higher chest voice and passagio. ENT ruled out vocal damage so my chords look good. I gig frequently, about 4 times a week...what do you recommend for a rehab to rest ratio? Trying to find a balance between gigs and rest and rehab that makes sense for me without taking complete vocal rest, as the vocal rest I've taken (2 weeks) didn't prove to have helped this issue with my voice. Any insights would be appreciated

    • @SingingStraw
      @SingingStraw  Před 2 lety

      Hey there! Thanks for reaching out - I'm glad you saw an ENT to rule out vocal damage. Great first step! It can take time to build back your balance in the middle after an intense infection like COVID. Rest/Rehab ratio can be different for everyone, and will depend on the style of singing you do and the length of your sets. If you are new to straw phonation, start by just adding a daily straw warmup and cooldown to your routine, see how that helps. Then if you need to, try to mitigate your voice use and gigging by using a straw to "reset" in between songs or sets. Hope that helps! LMK how it goes :)

    Hi. I was wondering if I can practise more often using the singing straw?
    I'm new to singing and my singing teacher said I shouldn't be practising more than 30 mins a day.
    Thanks for your videos 🙏

    i used to be a pro singer, but haven't really done a lot for 3 years since dealing with autoimmune stuff - I wanna get back to singing but i lost so much power and top voice. Humming is my favorite thing. I just got the pro straws. I feel like i'm not really doing it accurately. It feels like I may be using too little support or too much. My voice cracks easily and swell. Are there other videos I should begin with?

    How do you know when you’re ready to start belting again. I had a sinus infection and lost the high end of my range for about a week. I’ve been doing gentle exercises like this (with my Singing Straw, of course) for a few days now. Things are back range-wise, but I’m nervous about going further! 😭😭😭
