- A few of us took a trip over to Stony Lonesome for the weekend. The last time we visited the park was right at the start of the pandemic, so we were anxious to get back over to Bremen to hit some trails that we had been talking about. It was wet and we did a TON of winching, but we had an awesome time. This was my first time getting the CJ on the trail since I bought it 11 months ago and I had a blast in that thing! Totally different experience than my TJ and now I can't quit thinking about how much fun I had in it.
Kyle did some great driving and crawled over some big rocks. On the flip side, he also smashed the rear corner right behind the back door. It was kinda bad, but he treats it like an XJ so he was OK with with. Actually, he already has the Motobilt corners on the way so there's that.
Stopher chose some tough lines and followed the bigger tire Jeeps all day without hesitation. It's amazing how being nimble on the trail is always such a big advantage.
Michael enjoyed his first wheeling trip. He has a TJ Rubi that he picked up a few months ago and he is about to start building it for the trail, so we are pumped to see that in action as well.
Kent couldn't get his 4 door JK to the park, but he rode shotgun with me in the CJ. With all the stuff that we rode, I'm sure it was killing him not having his Jeep. He was a trooper though and we had fun putting some trail time on Frank.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy our Fall trip to Stony Lonesome. If you are in northern Alabama, definitely put this park on your list. I'm ready to go back and hit the trails that I mapped out but didn't have time to ride. Cheers!

Happy to see the Cj5 back out it gives me motivation to keep hammering on mine.
Still needs plenty of work but it’s riding! It is a super fun Jeep for sure
Great video once again Matt! That was pretty cool when those other guys were cheering for you guys! It’s unfortunate that it took two hours to winch up to the top and eat up a lot more of your time but I’m sure you’ll get back and make another video for us!
Thanks! We definitely plan to hit the park again soon.
Man i like that CJ!
Thank you. I’ve got a fun trip planned for it in the fall. It’s gonna have to be able to make it a few hours down the highway and wheel at the park too. After we get back from Moab in May, it’s gonna get some attention
Nice!! Been waiting to see "Frank" out on the trail! Looks like it did pretty good!
Haha it did! That thing is a ton of fun. Can’t wait to get back in it again. Planning to take it on our NYE trip as long as it isn’t pouring down rain. After that I think I’m gonna test it back down a little to get some more work done on it. The axles need some stuff and I think maybe the input bearing on the trans is going out
Nice video. Subbed and liked!
Thank you!
Great Video 👍💯
Thank you bud! 🤘🏽
Great video, Intellitronix makes a direct fit LED gauge cluster for the CJ
Awesome. Gonna check that out!
NICE, We got locked in the park last time I was there! Great video.
Haha dang. How’d y’all remedy that? Thanks! We had a great time even though it was super slick.
@@ThatJeepAdventure We called every number they had an after we couldn’t get anyone we took the gate Off its hinges and then placed it back.
@@rocklanderoffroad that’s funny! Probably happens a good bit I would imagine
Great seeing yr old cj out there! Was your hydro assist issue a problem with the ram? I’ve got a similar issue.
My problem ended up being a bad power steering pump. It was a refurb one and I guess it was bad from the get go. I assumed it was good for too long. I also went from a 13” steering wheel to a 15” which gave me a little more leverage
Looks like the CJ5 held it's own pretty good.
Man, it did! That thing is a beast. Super pumped to get in it again
1:00 Good call!! Ha! Looks like I missed an awesome time.
You did! You gotta go with us when we go back to finish up the other trails I wanted to ride lol
The CJ did amazing for a manual trans
I love a manual on the trail! My TJ is a manual too. Gives you so much control if you’re used to it
So no plans for a c4 swap? What transfer case is behind the np435?
@@joshrobinson2988 no gonna stay with the np435 for now .Dana20 behind it. I just rebuilt another Dana20 I had laying in the shop that I hope to swap in next weekend. The one in it is leaking just about everywhere lol. I was concerned that the low range gearing may not be low enough, but the granny low first makes up for it really well. It’ll be a good combo for now.
They make 4:1 low kits for the dana 20 but I think the case has to be trenches or ground out for relief.
@@joshrobinson2988 they quit making them unfortunately
What can you tell me about the CJ 5 , looks like they extended the wheel base and upgraded axels.
Cj is 99” wheelbase, Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear on 39.5” Iroks. Ford 5.0 with NP435 and Dana20
Is that yellow Jeep auto or standard? I kept watching his left leg press something but he drives the thing like an auto. Either he’s a good driver or he is pretending to press a clutch. Good driving to everyone!
Lol… it’s an auto.

Does anyone use central tire inflation? Guys I watched in Arizona would let air out of their tires for more traction
We run low psi also. The CJ runs around 3 psi and the others without beadlocks run around 12
Nice!! Been waiting to see "Frank" out on the trail! Looks like it did pretty good!
