Lukas is my new hero! He not only held his own when his daddy couldn't play. Him and his brother, Micah, brought the house down! (I am the crew chief for all the shows at Harrah's Resort in Southern California). On January 6th Willie didn't feel so good. He has an awesome crew and a killer family to back him up! Get better Willie and we'll see you next time.
Next to JJ Cale's version this just fires me up! Lukas Nelson just gives such flavor and depth to an already great tune. Love it!!

Chuck Vaughn yeah you can hear a little Willie, both in the voice and his guitar playing, but he is his own musician for sure. A ton of talent that sadly will never reach the radio. That is the case with all types of radio today more than ever in that the most talented will never get their chance. Thank God for the internet and CZcams.

And in the instance going on here - well what the heck can I say...it is BETTER than JJ's original version! So Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real' - I am bowing down to y'all right now as I type this. This cover is utterly priceless. One of if not thee best cover version of 'After Midnight' I have ever had the privilege to hear & see. Oh wow Lukas - your lead axing is amazing! You and your crew are far beyond the REAL deal mate. So can I ask - when are you guys coming over here to NEW ZEALAND? So wanna see & hear you guys over here in NZ! Please y'all come on over we'd love to have ya. NZ has some of the finest craft beer/ale/lager in the world - not to mention our wine...and our cuisine is also world famous. NZ scenery and landscapes are again world famous.
