It’s not Modi Versus Uddhav but Maharashtra Versus Gujarat
Yes Martha pride and that the Gujarat shouldn't shoulder the Ambanis and Adanis, snatched big ticket projects which were tied up for Maharashtra. Example is the proposed Financial Centre , Anil Agarwal tie-up for Semiconductor manufacturing along with Foxconn in Mumbai, abruptly shifted to Gujarat (the good news is that the proposed project never materialised fortunately . Micron Semiconductor manufacturing plant, originally to come up in Tamil Nadu, was dragged out to Gujarat in the last minute. So every big ticket projects land in Gujarat.
Not to forget that Maharashtra is the Financial capital of the Far East and a mighty industrial power of India, for the past one decade, as an Tamilian, feel hurt for disseminating the pride of the Marathas - as an Indian - I feel hurt.
An Auto Rickshaw driver becomes a CM through turncoats politics - the well educated Marathis with cosmopolitan out look - will teach a lesson for the Double Engines Sarkar. As a Mumbaikar, I was never a Shiv sena / Bal Thackeray fan. But Uddhav Thackeray is not 'kattar' like his father. So, I am ok with Shiv Sena (or rather MVA)

As a BJP supporter I am not unduly worried about losing seats in MP Delhi Rajastan etc as once elections are over, we can get the opposition MPs to our party. So we are not too worried about really winning - we will try, but not a game changer if we lose.

Maharashtra has been defamed and hurt by BJP and it's politics. I believe we Maharashtrians will express it's feelings through polls both in LS and Assembly Elections later this year.
It was the Sena that refused to see that BJP was the more popular party and broke away even after people voted for the BJP Sena alliance in 2019 and started pandering to Kangress.

The Ss-UBT NCP & CONGRESS leadership of maharashtra are all under the lens of ED for various corruptions and disproportionate assets cases, hence they are not serious about fighting with BJP. On the contrary they have deliberately fielded weak candidates against important leaders of bjp and their allies. None of these leaders are criticising modi in their speeches instead they are targeting local bjp leaders like phadanvis. The leaders of these parties were also under pressure from BJP to not to take Vanchit bahujan aghadi in their alliance because had the alliance taken place BJP would have lost more then 30 seats for sure. These leaders even declined to give in writing that they will not form any alliance with BJP post election at least for 5 years. Within the MVA also there are differences over several seats and there’s possibility of friendly fights which again will favour BJP. It is also rumoured that Uddhav thakre and sharad pawar will also ally with Bjp after the loksabha elections….
Good editorial. However, On what basis are you claiming the match is getting tougher by the day? INDI alliance doesn’t have a PM face. BJP is making it a bipolar election through their strategy post phase as rest of the phases are mainly a BJP vs Cong battle where BJP will sweep!
