Getting the lead right with gen 3 and gen 4 jets in air RB is really difficult.
Everything you’ve done up to this point will tell you “I aim here” and your bullets will come up short because you are both farther than you think and everyone is moving faster than you think.

a reminder that gaijin thinks that the 104, 100d, F86-26, and by extension the F-4C is at the same BR with magic 2s, AIM 9Ls, and r60Ms.
They genuinely think flareless jets from the 50s should be facing SU-25ks and Yak-38s, both vehicles with over 20G missiles when your vehicle only gets Aim 9Es or 9Bs.
The F3H and F100 both go up against planes with all-aspect missiles that can pull 30g, y'know, 1980s tech. The F3H and F100 werent even designed with the area ruling in mind.
The Starfighter doesn't have wings. It has stabilisers. ;)

@@GameChannelMini Practically, yes. It mostly flies thanks to massive thrust. One of the reasons it was such an awful plane with an abysmal rate of safe landings.

F-104 is what happens when the design team run out of idea and decided to just strap a cokpit and a smol wing to the most powerful jet engine available, give it a marketable/awesome name and then offer it as their latest cutting-edge fighter plane.

More like what happens when you listen to veterans for design advice.
Unlocked it a week ago.
First games were a total horror, only dying and sometimes 1 kill.
After a time I learnt certain things:
- Be confident in using Aim-9Bs. If they can miss, they will miss anyway, no point in saving them if RNG can fuck it up anyways.
- You won't learn a gun. It will always be a hit or miss.
- BE aggresive. Never climb. Never be scared of getting entire horde on ur tail, nor getting AAms on ur tail. With light manouvers, you will dodge missiles and pretty much outspeed all the jets.
- Try side flying and then going into heat of the battle. It's your best chance.
- If Mig-21 focuses on you, try manouvering. They have same weakness as you. Can't aim with their 23mms at mach speeds anyways.
- Always try getting onto enemy tail. Don't be scared if you outspeed them. They won't mostly have time, nor speed to react anyway and you can just catch them in any other pass.
- Be ready for getting uptiered into premium hell with bunch of idiots on both sides.
- Try taking around 20-30 minutes of fuel. You won't be more agile with less of it anyway.
This is actually exactly what I do. I also got the F-104A recently, maybe 2 weeks ago. The one difference is that I take full fuel. I used to only be getting 1 kill a match until I realized I should stop being so ammo conservative. A little bit more spray and the enemies go away. My peak kill count went from 2 to 4 once I did that.
That's all well except mig-21smt can easily do salto over f-104 and appear in the rear anyway. Also r-60 and r-3 are decent against 104 especially on lower speeds (but ofc shit overall)
I fly on SIM battles And pretty much everything is something i'd never do in SIM 😂 but Makes sense as The game modes are so different

For me F-104 is just perfect. I found out that it's great for my gameplay style. Yes, 9B are quite terrible, but i just love it's insane speed and 750 rounds is just enough to shoot freely

i think the guns on this plane gets people because when your going fast, the muzzle velocity feels very low, but when you are trying to hit someone going under 300 mph, you constantly miss or overshoot them
also the guns are only reliable within a third of a mile

I grind french, if you are getting magic in f104 you are within 1km side aspect or you flies in front of jaguar/s.etendard path..
Magic max range is very short.. in f104 you can do bigger loop (vertical preferably) and the missile wont catch you..
I always feel bad for the ppl getting strafed on af, seems like AA doesn't even try to help sometimes.
Every single time I climb I eat an R-3R :( I mean it's fine when I'm the Mig but grinding out this line of the USA after the sabers is somehow even more painfull to me.

I've been on the receiving end of 5:20 and it SUCKS. It does make sense though for the game to continue being fun for all players, instead of then all waiting on the last enemy air.
They should be a trigger like, is the last player engaging? Or just flying afk
