HOW is Antec making ANY Money on this Case...?! (C5 ARGB Review)

- When the C5 ARGB came through I was surprised to see it was coupled with 7 ARGB fans and a PWM controller. Though then I saw the price... $130 (or $170 AUD for aussies), for a fish tank style case AND all the fans preinstalled? Surely something had to be wrong with it... Though let's go through this whole case with an AMD RX 7900 GRE and Ryzen 7 7700 Build.

I like the fact it comes packed with 7 fans at that price. It is way more sexy than buying a $70 matx case with 1 fan, and dropping another $70 on fans to supplement the build.
trialing out a flip in a white one i bought today, really impressed with this case.
@@techyescity a white PC paired with white/black gaming chair always gives me the Storm Trooper vibes. "may the flipping force be with you" hahaha cheers!! and happy May Day.
Aliexpress sells 6 dollars rgb fans ..
Doesnt mean you should buy them lmao just gonna break in a few months thats why they are so cheap @@lebraa
I agree 100%. Also not having to buy a controller.
The O11 Dynamic truly was a trend setter
Antec makes some great cases for the money for both looks and function. They are one of my favorite case manufacturers right now. My main build is in a DF600 and I love this case.
yeah they are smashing it.
I agree, For me it's Corsair (main rig is in 7000D Airflow) & Antec, have a couple NX410s around also have their RGB button. While I use OpenRGB I love how easy the RGB button is to press and just instantly change the color or turn from on to off, versus having to go into the software and press a button to do it.
Great review, and I love that you're in Australia like me!
I'm still using my old antec 300 case from way back in the dark ages.
If it works why change it. Good to see people getting value from older cases that are doing the job and not wasting money on cases that just look different but do exactly the same job as what you have replaced.
@@bosco9028 there is nothing left in the case from the old 2008 computer as it has all been swapped out over the years. I even have an all in one CPU water Cooler running in it.
I have started building the computer to replace it however, in a thermaltake "the tower 900" case. After building a couple of custom water cooled Loops for other people I have decided it's time to build myself a monstrous one. Like the Old Reliable case I am using now I anticipate that case will probably do me another 15 years worth of upgrades.
I have already ordered some grills from a German air conditioning company that happened to perfectly fit the sides, allowing the fans to be removed from the radiator without having to unscrew the radiator. this will make cleaning dust out of fans easy.
It launched for $110 here in India. Insane deal.
I've been a fan of Antec since the 900.
Picked up the C5 because of your video. Great deal with the quality, fans, and controller. Looks great! Wish I could take advantage of the reverse connection ports but MSI is the only company doing this that has a Ryzen board, it's a B650M and I prefer full ATX. Will just have to wait till someone comes out with one. Thanks!
Antec are great value and I am rocking an Antec case, but I don't like fish tanks.
Crazy good value for money with all that’s included! Good for flips too imho
yeah man im testing the waters right now :p
the brofist got me 👊great job as always
Amazing case! I prefer the button too.
Antec is back-! This is what they are known for, cool review.
Thanks for the review, is the case/fan silents ?
I have been dealing with Antec cases for at least 25 years, and they have always been quality products. It seems they kind if fell into obscurity for many years, but their current products are pretty relevant.
My current PC is in a Hyte Y40, I got it on sale for $99, but it only came with one fan, so I was up to $120 usd after adding two fans on the side. This seems to be a value. I have dealt with a few if the $50-60 similar cases that sometimes come with fans, and everyone has been acceptable, but just that, they all have issues, either questionable build quality of mediocre fit and finish, and the fans are almost always static LED or not addressable.
Wow what an awesome goldfish tank. Oh wait uh.... Seriously though great looking case!
Nice case. Another good value case is the Montech King 95 Pro. Fans pre-installed, RGB strip on front, easy to build into.
Great value case indeed, your video inspired me to order a few from Umart tonight.... They also have the C3 Constellation at $123 which isn't too bad as well 🙂
My main PC is in an Antec Performance 1 FT. happy to see Antec doing well again.
I bought Performance 1 FT , 2 weeks ago, for 159 euros (Greece). Basically , its MSRP.
It's a "compact" full tower, packs so much "strength" that I cannot describe! ANTEC is back at it, for good!
This "fishtank" case is so VFM, I can't believe it , good job covering the basics of this case, especially the temps!
That's a top case. I recently picked up 2 of them for some customer builds I am doing. Both I got were the solid panel versions as both my customers don't want any glass or RGB. Excellent case and top quality.
@@bosco9028 I changed be quiet silent base 802, which is great but falls short at some stuff. Idk how antec managed to do a full tower rated chassis, which is smaller than bq sb802 but has better cable management options. It's really beyond me 😅
Have my 9700k, 2070s build on Antec P120, 4x 120mm PC Cooler Halo ARGB with 240mm Corsair H100i Platinum on side.
The case was bought for $45 used (but unused) & extra $30 for wonderful ARGB Fans.
The fact that your videos go live at random times, (i.e. 8:38pm) makes me believe that you actually put care into release and not just have videos set to timers.
Are you okay 😂
@@user-vl3fw9ub5w no? Now what?
Antec! Now that's a name I haven't heard in yeeaars. Nice to see them again.
I was going to be picking up the Lian Li O11 for my next upgrade... but now this one seriously has caught my eye 👁 (Aussie Here)
Nice value. Have a few NX410s, They are making a nice looking O11 knockoff here. I am tempted.
Yes Bryan love that case cant afford that though !!
Antec. Believe it!
Nice case and great value. I wish I had have known about it before I went silly and stuffed a Phanteks NV7 full of Lian Li SL120 Infinity's! Phanteks don't even give you a fan controller, only an ARGB controller!
Looks great
I prefer a button for sure. My MSI case has the exact same buttons and USB layout that you showed.
I put a button on one of my kids PCs, the other 2 had control on mobo, but they wanted buttons too, now we all have one!
I wish this case was around about 2 years ago when I built. Looks nice and would have been worth the money considering I think I spent almost that much on my case and the fans to replace the default ones back then.
i bought many years ago a itx case that i still use, also bogth some years later a nzxt h500 that is still in use
i would like to change both but both are so good and still in good shape that i cant justify getting rid of them and buying another, but i still look at these reviews, perhaps to encourage myself to sell them and buy another
Hey Bryan, would you know or be able to find out when this case would be released for sale in NZ? Cheers
There was a time when Antec, and many other case manufacturers sold cases with RGB fans, PSU's, and fan controllers included. This was at budget prices, gets you almost halfway there on a build. Stand alone cases were hard to find and more expensive.
The upside-down bottom fans are a good idea, not only because they look better but the bearings have a easier time because the lubricant is less likely to migrate out of them, they should last better than conventional ones. Basically it's how all horizontally mounted, upward-blowing fans should be, surprising that so few companies make them.
Thanks!
2:45 Anything that turns rgb off is good.
Well, asrock has RGB control in BIOS(wish more people recognized that). So, in this instance it was redundant. But more control over hardware is always good.
@@thatfordboy4297 An external button would be easier for some people who want to switch between presets, or just turn it off sometimes. Not everyone is willing, or capable of playing around in the bios even if they have rgb settings there (I don;t believe that is present in my Gigabyte bios). All of my rgb is turned off except for 2 front fans which are set to basically a pale grey, just so I know the pc is on, if I forget to turn it off. My Asrock graphics cards rgb was turned off via the very bad Asrock rgb software, which I then uninstalled, the setting must have stayed in the registry.
I had an Antec DF700 Flux before my 5000D: I might get that C5 case for my spare ring, it is a very nice case indeed
I have iCue with the 5000D, but I don't use it for the fans, I bought fans with a small remote control to use it
My monster NZXT Phantom 820 I think used an exterior button to control the lights, like the C5, and I much prefer that
I think she will be a cold winter in Oz, there will be a -4 tonight in Tassie, and a frost warning for the whole state
Buying one this week for a build.. probs with the msi amd project one... but would like to use a asus rog steix ATX board but then the cables are at the front... but great case
Competitors are gonna have a hard time to beat Antec's offer.
Button is best. I have even purchased those cheap led light strips that come with a remote on some retro machines that have no RGB at all. Just a light adds a ton of visual appeal .
I'm about to head out to the stores and ask for the Montech KING 95 Pro (Sydney). Should I get this or the MK95P? 😊
have you checked out the antec CX200M? it's like a MATX version at only $75 aussie
I prefer button as well.
Question: In recent videos you’ve featured 7500f and 7700 (on this video) would you mind telling about the latency issues in budget cpus such as 7600x, 7700, 12700k & 13600k. I feel like 12700k is going to be a beast with those tasty media engines!
how did i not know reverse fans are a thing? My next build will look even better thanks to the tech YES man.
I just got the montec air 903 max in white and my rgb is a button on the top as well
This with an Arctic LF3 360 up top is dope
The Button mate Best Regards Andrew
Nice hoodie.
Damn I might buy this

I think it be good with a not so long and heavy graphics card. I was concerned about noise if those fans spin up to top speed at first. It looks nice though.
what if one of these fancy reverse fans packs up, do they sell replacements separately?
I just finished building my ASUS ROG Rampage 3 Gene build in the ANTEC Air 100 mini ATX case, totally surprised by the quality and easy cable management for $60 ARGB and the fans don't suck sporting the Xeon X5675 @4.31 GHz with a Samsung 950 pro NVME M.2 boot drive and a custom XFX RX570 4 GB with an XFX RX580 XXX black cooler and backplate I scored parts not working for $15. the 570 cooler was useless, now I can hit 1450 core with the ram slider maxed out @ 2250 MHz
I looked at this case but went for the Lancool 3 instead for better airflow and radiator support.
I like the button, No controller needed 😀
Can we see them side by side with the C8? I can't tell just how much of a size difference there is
This is impressive value. Sadly it doesn't seem to be available in Germany yet. I went and checked our stores and it just isn't listed anywhere. Hope it shows up soon. I have a pile of components here that should be a complete PC just missing a cooler and would be great in this thing 🤣
MADMAN!!!
Case of the year 🤑
This is the serious rival to Montech King 95 PRO (6 pre-installed fans, 2 of which are 140mm.) in terms of appearance, price and value. It really comes down to personal preference.
I tend to never run the RGB cable for MOBO control, and prefer a controller; although sometimes quality of controller and the way all fans are pre-wired in can be quite bad on value options. I had one short out - Thought he PC died, but I just only had to replace fans. Also, if selling the PC les bloatware on a normal person's rig is better in my opinion. If i needed a new case, this looks awesome though- but I've been running a Cooler Master Master Case Pro 5 my brother left behind years ago and it's great.
The thing is a fantastic abomination at this point with the cutting I've done to it to mount a 280MM RAD on top. I really would have no qualms spending a decent amount of money on a case If i can hold onto it for as long as I've had this one. I mean, that many decent fans included is like, a no brainer. Definitely gonna see when it launches in Canada for my next PC I sell. The intel 12th gen clearance deals are awesome.
Would you get this over the king 95 if you had a choice
I want the white version of this case, but can’t find it anywhere in the US. Amazon says not available. 😢
Great case, if I didn't have the o11 Evo Dynamic, then I would have got one..
I got my o11 for £100 open box, so couldn't resist..
Really cool case! Honestly a bit too much for me and my usual mid tier builds, especially since I don't like RGB and keep them off. If there was a fanless version for just 100€ it would definitely consider it (already have 3x 120mm fans on my Corsair air 540 and 3 to spare)
I thought the three fans in the back are like the fans in the front on other cases facing out for intake
How does this compare to the Montech King 95 Pro?
With the price and build it's a winner specially for fish tank case cost $130 without the fans.
If we mount a 360 rad on top exhaust the temps will be much better
I have a bit mixed feelings about these fish tank cases. Mainly because I prefer compact cases and the only reason for getting one of these are if you have a long graphics card. But there's my other issue. I don't like long, over engineered graphics cards. 😅
Compact yet powerful but not top of the line and less thing's that likely will break. That's what I prefer.
Nice to see many included fans for that price though!
I have a $7.50 push button outsinde controller with a remote control for my ARGB it just simplifies things.
What mobo did you use..?
If only this case was a thing when I refreshed my system last year lol. Still happy with my 5000d but still
As for buttons to change RGB... I'm picky. I would like two knobs, one for HUE and one for brightness :) though I might be okay with a button to toggle through.. at least 8 or so brightness levels.
I actually never even thought of that, though you are right, brightness and hue would be a game changer! does anyone do it?
@@techyescity If it does exist, I've never seen it. It's just something I would like to see, especially on more premium cases!
Button is nice for a quick on/off. I really like OpenRGB if I'm trying to sync everything quickly. Would be nice for one for brightness and color.
software allows to change all argb (fans, memory, mboard, gpu etc) case buttons do not which is why I use software.
Good deal
how is this compared to a nzxt 6 flow?
I like the flexibility of software RGB control - but it just sucks out too much performance, especially the ASUS software. I use OpenRGB because it's so much more efficient than the branded stuff.
I'm like the Antec P1 not another aquarium case
is there still enough room for that 12VHP GPU connector, even with a 4090??
did you bother watching the video? how wide the case is?
Seriously considering the C8. Looks really nice. Lian-Li Evo but a heck of a lot cheaper.
but the C8 doesn't come with any fans... so you don't get the same kind of value as the C5
Yeah the lian-li is just out of my price range, especially for a reflip. Trialing this one out now.
@@HazewinDog fair point. I don't mind that though as I always have a spare set fans
Perfect pricing.
6 reverse fans that actually look good? I might buy this for that alone. Why don't companies sell reverse fans without a case bundled with them anyway?
when I saw this case I couldn't believe they sell it at this price.
Yeah I thought maybe there was some flimsiness to it, but nope solid all round.
prefer button. and would lie to see a white version would be nice.
Does this fit full ATX?
Yes…..I like the button
My one gripe would be the USB connecters on top of the case, where they will fill up with dust and gunk. USBs should always be on the front or come with plugs of some sort. My cats love to lay on top of my PC and are always managing to push the power button while Im gaming. I just built a new system in the King 95 that fixes all of that. That Antec is a really nice looking case though.
Perhaps your cats were trying to tell you something?
@@Willbme4EVA I think so, they wanted me to buy a pc with the power button on the front. LOL
@@stephenhood2948 I was thinking of a case along the lines that has an optional Top Mount Plush Carpet attachment. Rawrr!
@@Willbme4EVA LOL Don't give them any ideas. They already think everything I own is their own personal scratch post. It looks like a rabid Puma was caged up in my apartment. LOL
@@stephenhood2948 LMFAO, Happy May Day. Did you know that upper mounted LED's can improve your cats leaping ability as they try to get the dots on the ceiling? Great cardio for the kitties.
Now we gotta find one on the used market.
I have a feeling if one of these winds up just as case for sale on the used market, it will be more expensive, and have just single exhaust fan.
Vertical GPU mounting option available for this cabinet or not
Please respond i am about to order it
I am in the same boat......did you ever find out???? I haven't been able to find anything.
@@slidewayslifeplease visit antec site I saw 2 variants of the Kits there.
1 was normal and the other was the RGB version.
also, sorry for the late response mate😁
RGB button is lot better as quick and easy to use no mess
Lots of wasted space due to dual chamber, side fans and PSU don't have any dust filters.
Got ae NZXT H510 with no side panel and i believe it to be the best case ive ever had. Its by faaar not the best looking, but its runs as cool as a mother f****r
Open case will make almost any case a God Tier case
I'm fine with software tho I just use it to turn off lights or set them to red so meh
A case like this really cries out for custom cable extensions. I have a Y60, soon to be replaced by a Y70, and it looks so much better with some Asiahorse cables.
Can you please link up on a video showing off these cables? I would like to add to my new build. Tia

Great case.. BUT! Space for storag is pathetic.. It has only 1x3.5" and 2x2.5" Yeah nvme is now main thing, but there are many reasons to have multiple HDD and SSD
