390g condensed milk
14 oz evaporated milk
1/4 tsp salt
zest from one lemon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

To me the most pinoy thing is the cheese. Why do Filipinos do that? Why put cheese on sweet stuff? I'm firmly on the European side of my family on this. Cheese belongs on hearty stuff like pizza, not dessert.

@@cygnusnox8589 Cheesecake is different. Then it's part of the mix and doesn't taste like cheese. Olis it's cream cheese.
What I meant is when they take a plain piece of regular cheese and put that into stuff like a cupcake. That's what I think is gross.

My Mom makes this sometimes but she only uses milk, egg and sugar and fries it in ghee.

Flan is also a Mexican dessert as it was introduced to both Mexico and the philipines by Spain when they where both Spanish colonies while leche flan is a Filipino variant, ps that’s also why a lot of Filipino words are Spanish and sound like Spanish

​@@zzzzzsleeping Because Filipinos don't find speaking Spanish necessary over time as English slowly became the global lingua franca-but given how the majority of Filipinos are trilingual by default, relearning Spanish shouldn't be difficult in my opinion.
